I listened to this story several weeks ago, and I think you're doing a great job! Do you think you can make a story that is either set in ancient Egypt or in Bali?
I wonder what fruit it was in the original story- pumpkins don’t grow on trees, so I think when this was translated someone must have changed it to be more easily understood by non-Africans. I looked up some fruit trees that grow in east Africa, and I think the one that best fits other contextual clues (such as how it has a seed, and tastes sweet) it could be a pawpaw. Now I really want to try one lol, the page I’m reading says they’re supposed to taste like a cross between a banana and a mango. Anyway, I’m not looking for anyone to debate me on this, I was just sharing my random tangent I researched tonight cause I couldn’t sleep. Hope you all are well! Goodnight 💤

Actually, I can't stand the smell or taste of a paw-paw. I just found out that there is a paw-paw that grows in Pennsylvania which they saw tastes like a cross between a banana and mango. In which case, that would be awesome. Sadly, though, the paw-paws that grow in Australia don't taste like that to me. There is a relative of the paw-paw called a Babaco and I have heard that they taste a lot more pleasant that our paw-paws. I'd like to try one of those. I am sorry you found this disturbing Anna-Marie! I suppose we all experience stories differently. I did not find the story disturbing compared to some of the things I read and see these days on the news and on social media. On the contrary, I personally found this story inspiring by how the girl's kindness brought good fortune to her life despite her brother's hatred and greed :) Thanks for your comment! ♥
