I was at Railway Recreation Club on that day standing very close to the side of the stage with Tasmab sound engineer & Ogun stage engineer. What elder Olojede said was 100% absolutely correct. He rescued KSA,while others ran away from the stage. Thanks to Almighty God for KSA & APOSTLE OLOJEDE still alive.
I was born and brought up in music. I used to carry my dad's bass guitar anytime he's going for a show. He was maltreated by this same KSA. Despite their commitment and devoted services to his success. My dad had stroke while playing for ksa and by the grace of God he recovered but after everything he was dumped like a piece of rubbish Today all the services were not rewarded but to God be the glory,he's still alive and will continue to be. His name is, Jelili Abiodun Lawal, the band boys used to call him Olubadan cos he's from Ibadan. I will appreciate if he can be interviewed too, thanks
Whao, I am highly disappointed in KSA behavior towards the people that help him to become an household name, towards the people that help him build his career, for this manner of maltreatment alone, hmmm.... God will definitely be the judge. like baba said towards the end of his interview, it is not too late to make restitution towards the people he has cheated out of their rights.
I thank God KSA rejected me when I wrote to join his band in 1974. He advised me to continue with my education. I loved him so much until I listened to Matthew Olojede and Femi Owomoyela. Now, yours about your dad. Sunny Ade should clear these allegations or pay these great men their entitlements.
There is need for caution when commenting on issues relating to musicians and their band boys. What I know is that money realised at every show is shared between the band leaders and the band boys on agreed terms. The question to be asked are: 1. Were the band boys paid their dues for every show? 2. How did the boys manage what is being paid to them? These questions are not limited to just Sunny Ade's boys

Hmmmm, baba Olojede’s reaction @ 39:07 (the ‘hmmm Omase o) is so deep. All these successful people are very shrewd and can be greedy but I am sure if they look back now they wish they did things better than they did. This man is a resipository of knowledge. His account was well detailed. The end of his account was emotional, sensitive and sensible. KSA is too accepted to treat someone who worked for him for 39 solid years to be treated like this. This man was loyal to KSA and doesn’t deserve this bitter ending. I’ve listened to former band members of Commander Ebenezer Obey, and none of them ever said something like this about their boss. I join millions of KSA fans worldwide to plead to him to make restitution with these men who served him with all their hearts.
One thing I can say here, KSA is not an ordinary man. It really difficult even KSA cannot explain it. For him to say one of them might have die. It beyond imagination. God bless you more Sir.
I love Apostle Matthew Olojede and his candour. How I wish I was a Lawyer. I would have helped him and his colleagues take a class action suit up for Snr Apostle Olojede, Pa Folorunsho Oni, Femi Owomoyela, Rasaq Aladokun, Jelili Lawal, Pa Abiodun Fatoke and others against KSA for their rights and entitlement. Are there credible no win, no fee lawyers in NGR who can act for these legendary men against KSA and his organisation? Please rise up and help them!

The love of money is the root of evil KSA should do the needful. For these people to play for over 40 years without kobo is painful. I am convinced KSA will react soon and shed light on this issue
@@jmglad7562 seriously, KSA has been on ground before this people came. Sunny Ade made this people. You hv not heard his own side of the story. God'll judge, his there any written agreement concerning the said job

I agree with you completely. The goodwill today was built on the sweat of these old men. They should be enjoying it together, even in retirement. In business, goodwill carries significant value.

One of the KSA guitarist was arrested pushing drugs at the Airport. He claimed that KSA got rid of him and he has nothing to live for after working with ĶSA for many years. KSA defended himself that the man stolen on of his guitar and he got him arrested. That was his defend. I was furious with him callousness and not care attitude toward the man's plight. There is no KSA without those old bands. Thanks Nigbati for this interview. GOD BLESS YOU
This is a very rousing interview, but if one does not listen carefully and without bias it certainly could be construed as a judgement against KSA. Certainly it would be good to hear the side of KSA too. The coin has two sides and there is always two sides to every situation whether we like it or not. KSA to me remains a very good man and band leader, if not, no one would be with him for that long and he most definitely wouldn’t have been as successful as he has been. The truth is that shit happens. What I can hear from the interview is mainly the issue of royalties renumeration, may I say that KSA himself is a victim of royalties not being paid too. He has got to be paid in order for him to pay his band boys. The other point about the N500m compensation from the Abioro case that was awarded to KSA, the family subsequently appealed that judgement hence the hiatus in him getting the N500m. This information could easily be verified. The other issue raised about some of the band members being sacked unceremoniously is totally within KSA’s purview. He gave them his reason, it may not have been a reason that they felt was acceptable, but the fact is he gave them a reason. I remember reading in KSA’s book published in 2006; My Life, My Music he said that after he disbanded his first band he told those that wanted to remain in his band to re-apply and some did, some did not. Ironically part of the reason for the restructure then was to realign the renumeration process. KSA then suggested to his band members that they set aside some money from their performances etc for retirement etc purposes BUT they refused FLATLY saying to him that they wanted the wages due to them upfront. Now the point is that if KSA’s book version is true, then KSA does not owe anyone of his band boys any retirement severance pay. All the interviews of KSA’s former band boys clearly confirms that he shares stage performance money appropriately, they have also confirmed that they do collect royalties albeit can sometimes be a bit irregular but they do collect royalties. It’s funny if someone gets a pay check of a N1,000 in the 70’s and thinks that’s small money when the Naira was stronger than both the pound and dollars. Some of the questions I would have asked is what did they do with the money and fame they made? The overall message here is that no one should eat with his/her ten fingers. Save for the rainy day. My final thoughts is that despite all that has happened between some of KSA’s erstwhile band boys and himself that they are able to have a true reconciliation. Who knows what KSA saw when he told Matthew Olojede in 2009 when they met that if they’d not parted that one of them would have been dead? That’s very deep! Food for thought! Once again thanks to NigbatiTV for bringing us these iconic hero’s. Ire o!
I remember that the case was appeal & still ongoing. This means that King Sunny Ade have not receive any money yet until probably the Supreme Court make the final pronouncements.

Sunny Ade must pay all these old men severance fees They worked with him all their life including Brother Femi Owomoyela & co. Ibukun Oluwa lo ju o King Sunny Ade.
Am a fan of KSA since 1969, we should not judge hearing one side of a story . It was true the court gave a judgement in favour of KSA against late Abioro, but we don't know if payment has been effected since the judgement was made. Only KSA can say whether he has got the money or not.
I pleading to my lovely father in music king sunny Ade to please trying as much as possible if he can call al his olds band staff and see how he can compensate them please sir I am so love you sir thanks
People should not jump into conclusion. I will advise the crew should seek audience with KSA himself to clarify all issues raised by his old band members and wade in where necessary. I am not saying they are not telling the true though. However, book appointment with ksa and interview him as well. It will go a long way. Thanks
I have read most of the comments here. One thing I know about most musicians is that they get paid the way contractors get paid. It's pay as you go. Everyman to himself afterwards. He didn't talk about how KSA bought them cars and helped them with their individual houses. They're concerned about the main income KSA makes. All the trips abroad who pay their tickets ? Feeding and clothing ? Hotels etc. ,? I agree they should be compensated but for him to be looking at a paper of 2015 and what they thought KSA would be entitled to from his life struggle is a No!! For me. If KSA decides to take 50% monies from all their shows and plays it's not a sin o. KSA can compensate them all but bringing out a court judgement settlement they don't have idea whether the payment has been made s a sign that they from time immerotail spiritually fought the man over his wealth.
@@olufemioladejo1000 That's why there should always be a contract in such suitation. We know Nigerians don't even sign any contracts with their bandembers even bandembers are eager to play for their masters without any contract. In this suitation believe me the only thing most of these men who worked with KSA can do is beg him for any parting gift not try to lay claims on his royalty because legally it's a battle dead on arrival.
This gentleman is very honest and Godly man Sunny Ade should treat him well I love king sunny ade but he should do something meaningful for his old members please Sunny Ade do it before you pass on sunny ade should not treat Mathew Olojede the he did do something for him sunny ade please before it too late Mathew Olojede love you king Sunny Ade do something meaningful for him please thanks
K S A --- This is my man to the core.I so much love this personality like no man's business.I wouldn't want to make any comments on either side.Rather, I would want the presenter to try and get K S A for his own side of the story. I've listened to Alhaji Timi ayan .What Timi said was quite different to Mathew.I listened to another band member after Mathew set. This person was a talking drummer and still with K S A. This man said a lot of good things about K S A on this program some time ago. So the producer should try his best possible to get K S A for his own side of the story.I'm quite sure we'll hear something....till then.....
Sunny has nothing to say, I have heard a lot about his rude way of life before this gentle man came to our views He is a greedy man He wants all for himself alone, craven and the choke puppy
The music industry in this country is not well structured or regulated otherwise these sorts of stories of bitter regrets would not be rive among musicians and their bands. The government/state should play their expected roles as regulators of the society by bringing sanity to the music industry in the country. All relevant aspects of labour management should be legally formalised for sanity to reign otherwise the irregularities will continue unabated!!!!
If a brand new car was sold for N3000 in the 70s, then N1000 was not a little money. However, it will be awesome if Nigbati tv could arrange an interview with KSA to dispel all these unbelievable allegations. KSA should make amends before it is too late. I admire KSA a lot.
It is well.Daddy Gbenga. You are Gentleman to the core.Ive known through my life.Dont worry God will continue to provi de and strengthen you..You continue to enjoy your children I. Jesus name.Amen.
KSA needs to be interviewed to either consent or debunk all these claims. This is a big lesson that agreement and documentation is very important. Legally KSA might say he doesn't have any case to answer but if he consider GOD, he needs to compensate these ppl. It doesn't take nothing from him
For every young artist, musicians, workers getting money legitimately please invest invest invest not in liabilities but assets. Loads of lessons in the interview.
Great interview well done and all credits.to production team. One thing or suggestion. If possible to display old pictures or visuals of the guess in their active peak years as interview is going on .it just put better face to the knowing Guess more . thanks
There should be a way for band members to come together and form an association of some sort to enable them work with a view to securing their rights and future even though they are in different bands under different musicians.
It’s so sad the way our musician used to treat their band boys, this is what you get when you don’t have any written agreements. KSA also said In one of his interview with Gbenga Adewusi that the children of Abioro couldn’t afford (#500M)the money he was awarded .
So sad. Similar situation with Baba Owomoyela. Those were the days of Oga - servant exploitation; taking advantage of surplus labor in the music industry. There was no contractual agreement. However, I know information from these interviews are getting to Baba KSA. He is not such an exploitative person. At a stage I think he might have to defend his actions too.
Wow, this is breathtaking and very sad. This interview with Matthew Olojede is similar with the one from Femi Owomoyela and I am pretty sure that Alhaji Timmy will definently have something to say about how they were mistreated by Sunny Ade. I am 61 years old and I have been a fan of Sunny Ade since age of 17 but coming to learn all these about Sunny Ade make not to have any regard or admiration for him again. When people serve and support you delligently, you are suppose to support them at the end. Without these people, there will be no Sunny Ade and this should an eye opener for his current members that it's not everything that gillter is Gold. They should be demanding for their entitlements before he will dump them the same way he did to their predecessors. Like Matthew Olojede said, there's still time for redemption before it's too late. Good name is better than Silver and Gold. Sunny Ade should set pride aside and do the rightful need for these People namely: Matthew Olojede, Sharafa Bello, Tunde Alade, Ademola Esho, Moses Owayeye, Abiodun Fatoki, Timmy Olaitan, Femi Owomoyela, Abiola Abiona, Bello Ajileye, Folorunsho Oni, Bob Aladeniyi, Bob Ohiri, Michael Babalola, Dele Akande, Asimiyu Oyekannmi and host others members that I could not remember their names.Sunny Ade, what legacy are you gonna leave behind when you go to glory.????

What legacy are you living as well, no one can please the world, KSA took all this people to know the world, they had sweet memories, and so nobody is perfect, and anyone can fall out with anyone at any time, do you know what led to their separation? Please stop the blame game ok…they had so many benefits in that band.. ok
I believe KSA is heartless even he doesn’t recognize his late musical friend who died in year 2010 chief Dr Sikiru Àyìndé Barrister Sunny Ade never acknowledged this great man he think he will not die whatever might have happened Chief Dr. Sikiru Àyìndé deserves your honor
King Sunny Ade suppose to do good to this man who stood behind him faithfully. KSA did something to Bob Aladeniyi who betrayed him and followed Abioro.
Now I trace the dots of when elder Tiamiyu said he would never bad mouth his boss to his bosses friend. Cuz it appears like Apostle Matthew and his others might have been badmouthing KSA to those influential friends of his.
Nigerians like emotional stories. The whole relationship was informal. None of them have a formal contract with KSA. The only person that signed anything with either with a promoter or a recording company is KSA. It’s his name and talent that is promoted. He is the artiste. This man was with a highly successful band for forty years. That’s a rare fit. That’s a long time within which to express dissatisfaction. When he did, he had the option to stay or leave. The truth is that bad members are not indispensable. Obviously life was good. Remember that KSA had to void a contract he signed with Chief Abioro with severe penalty. How many people survive that? Only KSA! Decca was paying Chief Commander one naira on each LP sold, KSA was paid 25 kobo for years. He talks like he was a co- founder with KSA. He was a band member in a system of ‘pay as you go’ Like he said, it was all based on relationships. Nothing legal was signed, no mechanical rights. It’s a joke and a burden to expect KSA to put in place retirement plans that more formal institutions failed woefull
Very disgraceful. No legend without a team. If more than 2 people say the same things about 1person. you would think the 1 person would want to straighten the records and where there are shortfalls, they would apologise and close all gaps, pay their former employees what they deserved and now deserve? But it doesn't work this way, unfortunately, people make history by using the ones who loved them the most. It seemed to me that the case for this weakened legend with many K-legs has never been about winning together but SELF. Or is it possible that all these witnesses who stood by him to save his life and career at many times in life are now interested in his downfall? Where is the 500million naira win by the way???????????

Sunny Ade must pay all these old men severance fees
They worked with him all their life including Brother Femi Owomoyela & co. Ibukun Oluwa lo ju o King Sunny Ade.
They suppose to send this video to King Sunny Ade and this baba Should try and meet sunny ade.
Nigbati should show videos of their old performances (inbox) on the screen.
Thanks for watching.unfortunately, we don’t have the rights to broadcast their old videos
Am a fan of KSA since 1969, we should not judge hearing one side of a story . It was true the court gave a judgement in favour of KSA against late Abioro, but we don't know if payment has been effected since the judgement was made. Only KSA can say whether he has got the money or not.
What a great man, very good interview. Weldone my brother, the man looks exactly like Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo) abi am I seeing double ni?
…and sound like him too. Probably from the same origin or heritage
You are on point . Chief Taiwo Hassan Ogogo looks and talks like him so much. May the Lord continue to bless Baba Olojede
You are on point . Chief Taiwo Hassan Ogogo looks and talks like him so much. May the Lord continue to bless Baba Olojede
I pleading to my lovely father in music king sunny Ade to please trying as much as possible if he can call al his olds band staff and see how he can compensate them please sir I am so love you sir thanks
God will make a way! Thanks for watching!
Very nice interview, pls sir try and interview KSA we dont want to listen to one side, this is a lesson to all of us try and invest oo
Yes, very important. We are working on it! Hopefully, he will honor our requests.
A very good insight
Well said! Thanks for watching.
Ok, then, what is royalties as it applies to band members, whether present or retired?Who should get what, and at what percentage.
Sunny ade is fucking selfish and greedy
It would be nice to hear Sunny Ade's side of the story
K S A --- This is my man to the core.I so much love this personality like no man's business.I wouldn't want to make any comments on either side.Rather, I would want the presenter to try and get K S A for his own side of the story. I've listened to Alhaji Timi ayan .What Timi said was quite different to Mathew.I listened to another band member after Mathew set. This person was a talking drummer and still with K S A. This man said a lot of good things about K S A on this program some time ago. So the producer should try his best possible to get K S A for his own side of the story.I'm quite sure we'll hear something....till then.....
Sunny has nothing to say, I have heard a lot about his rude way of life before this gentle man came to our views
He is a greedy man
He wants all for himself alone, craven and the choke puppy
@@tundeoyewole5447 Sunny ade will not die better for not doing the right thing for these guys.
Thank you.
We all admire him. By God’s grace we would hear from the King!
God bless you #1000 naira is a big money then
It is well.Daddy Gbenga. You are Gentleman to the core.Ive known through my life.Dont worry God will continue to provi
de and strengthen you..You continue to enjoy your children I.
Ododo oro! Thanks for sharing your memories with us.

Onigelede ile Ibara. "Matthew Olojede oko Jumoke Egba ni'le, a ye wa, a ye wa o Jesu adaba ewe..."
Great interview well done and all credits.to production team. One thing or suggestion. If possible to display old pictures or visuals of the guess in their active peak years as interview is going on .it just put better face to the knowing Guess more . thanks
Well noted sir. We will look into this.
Bros Mattew
Eku Ojo meta ooo
Olori Dupe from California.
Great
Please, what is royalties as it applies to musician, how is it calculated to the present and retired band members?
Ejire mi well done
Thank you!
I love Conscience (Eri okan) too. I think it should be 83/84. I might be wrong.
There should be a way for band members to come together and form an association of some sort to enable them work with a view to securing their rights and future even though they are in different bands under different musicians.
1,000 in 1970's? Haa that's a lot o. If it is early 70's the money paid must be in pounds!
It’s so sad the way our musician used to treat their band boys, this is what you get when you don’t have any written agreements. KSA also said In one of his interview with Gbenga Adewusi that the children of Abioro couldn’t afford (#500M)the money he was awarded .
Like KSA SONG ILE AIYE KOTOPO.. KSA should make peace with his founding members
Baba d Lord shall bless you n all d fruits that came out of your bowel in Jesus name
Thank you for your suggestion sir. Agba yin adale. Hopefully the king is listening and we hope to hear from him very soon.
His name is, Jelili Abiodun Lawal, the band boye used to call him Olubadan cos he's from Ibadan. I will appreciate if he can be interviewed too, thanks
Ool
What legacy are you living as well, no one can please the world, KSA took all this people to know the world, they had sweet memories, and so nobody is perfect, and anyone can fall out with anyone at any time, do you know what led to their separation? Please stop the blame game ok…they had so many benefits in that band.. ok
@@omonike2601 Taking them to the world is not a big deal, can he do it alone by himself?
1st. Took long time to upload the full interview
Sorry it was due to a technical glitch. Thanks for your patience
Nice but heartbreaking. ......
We need his account number like the way you did during the baba femi owomoyela's interview
Thanks for your generosity. Will do
Please when are you going to interview KSA himself?
I believe KSA is heartless even he doesn’t recognize his late musical friend who died in year 2010 chief Dr Sikiru Àyìndé Barrister Sunny Ade never acknowledged this great man he think he will not die whatever might have happened Chief Dr. Sikiru Àyìndé deserves your honor
There are two sides to every story... let's allow the other party tell his side...
This baba suppose to get compensate from King Sunny Ade
He was a band member in a system of ‘pay as you go’
Like he said, it was all based on relationships.
Nothing legal was signed,
no mechanical rights.
It’s a joke and a burden to expect KSA to put in place retirement plans that more formal institutions failed woefull
Beware of the leaven of the Pharisee.
God bless KSA.
If want to ask questions straight to the point
1:13:02 very funny
Yes it is! Thanks for watching!
Where are the subtitles please?
#1000 naira is a big money then
It's so sad that some of the big Nigerian Musicians didn't do right to their band members.
Merciful God must be around 1987/88. Destiny surpass all of them
Hmm, I think it’s 88, seems It was after Jealousy which had Obafemi Awolowo’s tribute. So you are abt right with that assumption
E jowo e ba wa gba oriki Iro lowo baba wa
Iam beginning to hate KSA with these grave complains and evidence
KSA, lt is human if you pay your former staffers severance package and ©️ copyright allowance from the accrued benefits u received from Late Abioros African's Songs Limited.
Absolutely! After all, even a music legend needs a little harmony with his former staff - no one likes a sour note!
Can't you ex band members sue him ?
Once there is no Written Agreement between them it's very hard...
Yes
But I know Mathew a little bit.He was at Mafoluku at Oshodi .... Mathew was sturbon and stone hearted........
Presenter should not judge yet until you hear from the other side.It is very important yo
@@ayoolaodubunmi8126 well, I am not a lawyer and it will be very hard to be certain on what ground they can argue their case. But I am sure there must be a place in the law for them. Anywho, agbo ejo enikam da ejo, yoruba ni agba Osika ni
KSA can do better than this.
To put band boys together is not an easy task, this man worked tirelessly to support him. Sunny you are so greedy and one way direction.
There wouldn't have been any Sunny Ade without the band boys
Shame on you
Ohun aiye ma ba aiye lo
I don't expect you to judge here because you haven't heard from the other party ie KSA
So, KSA is now the avenue to gain popularity and fame. KSA, KSA KSA, you are all wasting your precious time
