    • @agentwrench
      @agentwrench 4 года назад +3

      @@Igor-my6ml his view didn't remain the same. People focus a lot on the spiritual/religious meaning of the ending in terms of the afterlife. I've always found more interesting how he's acknowledging he sees a meaning in life, while being alive, that it's worth to keep fighting. That challenges the pessimistic nihilistic philosophy he insists he believes in throughout the series, that life has no meaning, that it's not worth it. Another cool way to look at it I think, is that this is not a radical change but that he actually never fully believed his own philosophy, but that at least part of it was a coping mechanism. To convince himself his daughter was better off dead he needed to believe that there's no point in life. But his actions prove that he always cared, despite what he said.

    Rust Cohle really opened up my eyes to this world around us. It's a fucked up place. People say I'm losing myself, but I say the world lost itself a long time ago. Yeah Rust may not be the best role model, but he committed to something and saw it all the way through. Cheers people, don't ever overlook the truth, even if it's hard to see.

      Life is about balance. You get the good and the bad. Keep your eyes open, but don't let your negativity ruin your perception of reality. Without the darkness you would never truly appreciate the light. Most importantly don't dwell in your pit of despair. "Laugh and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone".

      He didn't open my eyes. I lived in a fucked up place all my life so I just found a character I could relate to. He saw corruption and shittiness of humanity the same way I do.

    One night in long bygone times, man awoke and saw himself.
    He saw that he was naked under cosmos, homeless in his own body. All things dissolved before his testing thought, wonder above wonder, horror above horror unfolded in his mind.
    Then woman too awoke and said it was time to go and slay. And he fetched his bow and arrow, a fruit of the marriage of spirit and hand, and went outside beneath the stars. But as the beasts arrived at their waterholes where he expected them of habit, he felt no more the tiger’s bound in his blood, but a great psalm about the brotherhood of suffering between everything alive.
    That day he did not return with prey, and when they found him by the next new moon, he was sitting dead by the waterhole.

    fiction and reality... There's a fine line, all depends on perceptions I guess. I would call Mr Cohle a realist for sure. The obstacles, the trials that we go through in life are sent to test us.. How we deal with those trials, tests are what plays part in defining our outlook. Being a realist can be viewed as being harsh. A realist in my belief is being woke. Life ain't all sugar n sweet. It can be but, to appreciate that, you have to, learn from the sour n salty times that you will go through. Such a great character.. Good ole Rusty Cohle 👍
