    In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the new Grasshopper components introduced in Rhino 8. Our focus is to show you how to fully automate the creation of floor plans, complete with hatches and dimensions, all directly within Grasshopper.
    Before we explore the newest feature, we will teach you how to create a 3D floor plan from a collection of single straight lines that we will convert into 3D geometry with the help of the Flexibility plugin. You will also discover some other cool components that come with it.
    The first Rhino 8 feature in Grasshopper that we will cover in this tutorial is Model Hatch. You will learn how to apply a hatch pattern to the floor plan of the walls we created. We will also cover how you can adjust and customize the hatch pattern.
    In the next part, you will learn how to import, adjust, and create customized linetypes and how you can display them directly in the Rhino viewport from Grasshopper.
    Moving forward, we'll show you how to create dimensions for the floor plan. In this part of the tutorial, you will learn how to import annotation styles, and adjust their text, dimensions, arrows, and unit settings.
    Give it a try and share your favorite features with us!

    How do you get the Component Name on top of it? Was looking for Bifocals but it doesn't work on Mac here.. :-(

    Would the same be possible in Rhino 7 as well? Are there alternatives for some of the Rhino 8 components for Rhino 7?

    • @HowtoRhino
      @HowtoRhino  Месяц назад

      In Rhino 7, you can display hatches and dimensions, but you can't bake them into Rhino or set the annotation style and pattern like you can in Rhino 8. All these features in Rhino 8 offer much more flexibility and control.

      Yes, the workshop content will be recorded and available during these 10 days, from May 27th to June 6th. After that, it won't be available.

    Hello! And thanks a lot for the tutorial!
    Is the Model Hatch component from a non-standard plug-in? If yes, which one? And if no, do you know why I might not be able to find it in GH? :) Again, thanks!

    • @HowtoRhino
      @HowtoRhino  Месяц назад

      It’s a native Grasshopper component that comes with the Rhino 8.

  • @SJassoful
    @SJassoful 2 месяца назад +1

    What is the name of the plug-in that allows you to open a rhino viewport in the GH canvas?

    • @HowtoRhino
      @HowtoRhino  2 месяца назад +1

      There are several plugins that enable the Rhino viewport to overlay the Grasshopper window.
      I personally use Topmost Viewport: www.food4rhino.com/en/app/topmost-viewport

    i always think that grasshopper is so inefficient...

    • @HowtoRhino
      @HowtoRhino  2 месяца назад

      It sounds like you might not have used the Grasshopper in the best way. Its efficiency really depends on how and when it is used.
