Being a hippie person myself I love how you made the extra allowance for the hip for the back of the skirt.very nice tutorial I really learned a lot thank you
Hi and thanks for the video. If I understand correctly front hip is h/4-3/4, and the back is same h/4-3/4(overlap) but extends by 3/4, meaning the back is h/4. Combining the total front and back waist you get 2x(h/4-3/4)+2xh/4 which equals h-1.75. The hip will be 1.75 less. Is this not a mistake
It would help if you mentioned the half-inch seam allowance to be attributed on the fabric at the waistline when transferring the pattern to the fabric.
Oh my God you,re doing a good job,ur tutorial is not jst helpful bt very explicit and straight to the point.Infact I enjoyed,ur teaching.Pls can you do atutorial on the protruding buttock on a fabric?Thank you♥️💋💋
I really loved this tutorial but shouldn’t the 3/4 removed from the front be added to the 12 3/4 in the back such that the original hip measurement of 51 is achieved?
The measurement for the back pattern is short by 3/4 ". Back hip line measurement should have been 12 3/4" plus the 3/4" taken away from the front pattern.
If you noticed any error pls correct it when drafting yours. The idea is to show us how to achieve a protruding buttocks for the back bodice of a skirt or a gown with zipper. Thanks!
For six pieces skirt you'll not use the covered slit method, whatever measurements u use for ur zipper allowance just measure it from the waist to the hem straight down.
Thanks for the reply. My concern is that pencil skirt patterns curve down to centre front and CB. Whereas bodice blocks aren't, in particular the back pattern.
Thanks for the tutorial but I'll like to bring to yr notice that your hip measurement is not complete. You ought to measure the normal 12.75 for the back piece before adding the 0.75 at the zipper side. Pls check again. Thanks
My best teacher good morning I love your teaching very very well keep it up for us that is new beginners with ur teaching I learn fast thanks please ma can you show us how to cut wrap round short grown please reply me back thanks

The back is hip divided by 4 plus 3/4 inch. When you add the front and back measurements you should get the total hip measurement.
🔥🔥🔥🔥Extremely Helpful
I will like to see how you join the cut material. I like your tutorial. God bless you
Very good teachings can you please show us how to sew it
Thank you very much ma. God bless you for sharing this knowledge in Jesus Christ name amen.
Thanks for this detailed tutorial!
It would help if you mentioned the half-inch seam allowance to be attributed on the fabric at the waistline when transferring the pattern to the fabric.
God bless you ma, this is the best tutorial on a pencil skirt

Thank so much your good teacher
I really loved this tutorial but shouldn’t the 3/4 removed from the front be added to the 12 3/4 in the back such that the original hip measurement of 51 is achieved?
Yes. It must be added that is what i did. On the hip measurements only.
Thanks!

Thank you so much, I always wondered how to shape my pattern pieces for my buttocks.
Thank you so much
God bless you 🙏❤️
Please ma am i to remove 3/4 from both front and back hip or from only the front? Thank you ma
Thanks so much
If I'm making six piece or Aline how do I go about it
Cos at d heming or d vent u mark 2inches
For six pieces skirt you'll not use the covered slit method, whatever measurements u use for ur zipper allowance just measure it from the waist to the hem straight down.
If i want to use elastic waistband,do i have to use my 1/4hip minus 3/4"as my waist and hip measurements
I love this!!! Will an Ankara fabric stretch without a lining?
Ankara fabric doesn't stretch
@@otyscouture ok. I made a skirt and a pair of pants and the fabric “grew” as the day went on. It was much looser on me at the end of the day.
Thanks for the video. If you also have bodice pattern, can you join them directly and form a dress. Or will you need adjustments on the waist?
Yes you will need adjustment on d waist. The bodice waist with the skirt waist must be d same so that it can fit each other when sewing.
Thanks for the reply. My concern is that pencil skirt patterns curve down to centre front and CB. Whereas bodice blocks aren't, in particular the back pattern.
Please can I use this curve method when cutting a pencil dress especially when it joined bodice?
Yes
Hola corazón! Me encantan tus tutorial. . Pone subtitulo español latino
Thanks for the tutorial but I'll like to bring to yr notice that your hip measurement is not complete. You ought to measure the normal 12.75 for the back piece before adding the 0.75 at the zipper side. Pls check again. Thanks
Thanks alot. I want to see how you sew the pencil skirt.
Check the next video you'll see the sewing of the skirt
Thank you so much!! 😍😍 I've been wondering how to do this for ages because my hem line always gave out skew due to my butt area🤭
I'm glad you find the tutorial helpful. You're most welcome.
👍
So the back pattern should be 12 3/4plus 3/4from the front pattern
Yes
I want to see how you sewed the skirt.
Check the next tutorial on my channel for the sewing
Thank you ma for d tutorial pls can u make d sewing video of it thank you
I've already made the sewing video check the next post on my channel.
Perfect
Thanks so much
Each time am drafting a pencil skirt for a plus size person d back will be shorter than the front, what could be the cause
I guess it's because of the buttocks at the back. There's a way u can go about it, buy increasing the length at the back bodice with either 1"or 1.5".
Thanks ma
Thank u very much ma
The measurements of this skirt hip will not be equal to 51
If the front is 24,the back should be 27.
Please calculate that for me
Well-done
What if we don't want opening
You'll not use this covered slit method. Just measure ur zipper allowance from the waist straight down to the hem.
Cld you pls sew with this pattern.
Yes i have sewn with this pattern. Check the next tutorial after this one. Part2; how to sew neat finishing with lining.
