i dont mean to sound condescending but for every letter of the quran which is read in arabic allah rewards the person vastly regardless of whether they understand arabic or not. ofcourse reading the translation is very beneficial as it gives one understanding of the word of god but its not completely useless to read quran in arabic as there are allahs blessings associated with doing that. allah bless you guys abundantly and reward you for your fasting.

JazakAllah khair. I agree with what youre saying about learning arabic, however there is reward in every single letter you recite in arabic even if you dont understand it. So the reward is much greater than if you were to read it in English. But inshaAllah I aim to learn all the translations this ramadan
not to be rude but Allah chose the quran to be revealed in Arabic , which is the language we r going to speak in jannah, so it has blessings, so regardless u are going to be immensely blessed with each letter that's read. it has spiritual benefit, because they are god's words. translations r good but not comparable to the original revelation
Or why not try and learn Arabic? It's not impossible if you really want to. There's a lot of non Muslims who are learning Arabic right now. Why not Muslims specially if they already know how to read it. The translation is never the same as the Quraan in its native language. The translations are merely only an translation of the explanation "tafsir" of the Quraan.
