I feel it's fair to point out a lore-mistake you mentioned with regards to the Draman.
In the Elder Scrolls Universe, Dragons are simply described as eternal beings that neither were born, nor can they die (unless slain by the Dragonborn who absorbs their immortal soul). Alduin states himself that he is the Firstborn of Akatosh and, therefore, cannot be killed in the same manner as other creatures or even other Dragons. There is also a book that can be found stating that, when interrogated, Daedra will relent that not only are Dragons the only beings they universally fear, but are not born and simply exist.
It is also implied that a Dragon's soul (as well as the energy of their Shouts) are vastly more powerful than any magic of mortals and, thus, cannot be changed by mortal magic.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a lore pureist, love your channel and this series! :)
True, its implied in the mod that the Draman are a creation of the Dovah themselves as a kind of reward for useful servants. Ingame book and everything.
Mitchell Fechter I think this mod adds a book in Delphine's hide out which details how the Draman came to be in case you wanted to check it out
.n'hésite
Me too
Mitchell Fechter I think the Draman are a nod to the oblivion Deadroth which was a large alligator dragon like creature that roamed the oblivion planes
The best part about this mod: You can toggle on/off which creatures you want and which you don't want from the in-game MCM.
I was wondering that. Thank you.
I was really thinking of installing Immersive Creatures... Then I got to 2:26 and was like, "NOPE".
You can disable certain creatures. I disabled Dramen and Dwarven Mech Dragon as I considered them Immersion breaking. Never encountered this wierd spider skeleton thing though.
Glass Golems were a brilliant idea.
oh god the skeleton spider D:
'Bone Horror'
+Dubstep_Junkie uninstall ur skyrim
Jipsy Jeepies lol what?
Dubstep_Junkie the solution is uninstall ur skyrim
WOW. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. No sarcasm intended! That is helpful. I LOVE mods that allow you to change some aspects of the mod itself. I downloaded Serannaholic I think it's called and it offered to let me choose between what color her eyes should be. I LOVE stuff like that! Thanks again!
Been having a few tech issues running Skyrim but just wanted to say your Mod reviews are one of the reasons I ended up buying the game. Really appreciate the installation info you add to the end of each vid. Thanks so much for all the great work!
Gopher, thank you for keeping this series going for so long, it's awesome.
Immersive Creatures does have a "Lore-purist" option with MCM ingame if you install RC v6. It removes the more outlandish creatures types like the Dwemer mechanicals, draman and other hybrid or created creatures that have not showed up in the lore or previous games. Thought people would like to know.
Dogtown1 is the author of SkyMoMod, and lifestorock is the author of Skyrim Immersive Creatures. I (jackstarr) am the author of the lore-friendly replacers (or patches) for both mods. As of v6 I'm assisting lifestorock behind the scenes, and my suggested amendments will be incorporated into v6 and future versions as an optional "purist lore-friendly" setting via MCM - but it's all completely customisable.
I am thinking that after Chapter 2 of my current lets play, I may do a couple of Quest mod playthroughs before Chapter 3. I will record those and at the end do an SMS covering them (without spoilers).
I love that I found a bunch of your comments dated just 5 hours back ago xD And this one is true to what i myself even think.
Immersive creatures is probably my favourite creature mod, especially when mixed with extended encounters. Alot of the creatures are actually so well integrated i sometimes have to think if it was in the game to start with!
It's cool that you mention DragonLance. This weekend I will be running the 1st module in the series of modules that the dragonslance novels are based on. We plan on starting with dragons of dispair and running either all the way through the entire 10 module series or until the heros die.
gopher, you are priceless to the modder and modding community. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have your input and reviews on mods.
MCM means "Mod Configuration Menu" and is part of SkyUI (interface mod). I built a quite comprehensive menu that covers nearly all mod aspects. You can alter additional features, advanced features, available creatures and several difficulty related stuff.
It also contains an easy to set preset system that let you choose from several options (example: Lore Purist).
What you mentioned can be toggled as you wish. You can visit the SIC google page, it contains several pictures of the menu.
when he walking about werewolf immersion and the cloth i thought he about to break out the schlongs of skyrim for sure xD
Me too!
I try for once a week, but with it has been hard recently because of real life stuff :)
6:29 would make a awesome mod
Yeah it would
Dylan Hawkins
I don't know if you guys know about it yet, but there is a mod like that already.
Look at Nexus for Werewolf Aftermath - Gota Get My Stuff Back
Gopher addressed this mod at Skyrim Mod Sanctuary 66.
Cookie Dynamics Namend?
lol 2:10 you feel comfortable as a dragon flies above your head xD
LOVE Dragonlance. That is the series that got me into fantasy back in the '80s. :D
Such awesome mods, very helpful tips. Thank you very much Gopher!! :D
Woooooow @GophersVids what a nostalgia trip when you mentioned Dragon Lance!
Any viewer of his Skyrim LP Series is shaking their head at the message in the top-left corner for Richard. **I'm carrying to much**
As usual...
nice dragonlance reference gopher. loved those books as a kid.
+500 Awesome points for the Dragonlance reference. I just started reading the Dragonlance Legends trilogy myself.
Holy Shit! Gopher made a Dragonlance reference, he is now officially the greatest mod-reviewer ever!
I try to make one a week, recently it is more like one every 10 days. But that is the reason I don't want to stick with just werewolves. It has been too long since I covered other mods :)
And thats what I love about Mass Effect as well. Its not just for gamers, its for all those who appreciate art or love movies like me and want to BE IN that movie.
Yes, absolutely. You need to use Wrye Bash and create a bashed patch to merge the leveled lists though. If you want to use them both, I'd recommend using my lore-friendly versions of both SkyMoMod and Immersive Creatures together for balance reasons (Gopher reviewed a very early and buggy version of my SkyMoMod replacer - it's improved loads since then).
Spend a couple of weeks just browsing, I finished skyrim completely on the console about a year ago and now have just got it back on pc with over 200 mods (stable) and its just a whole new game
It's actually MnNwr, not NmNwr, as OnyxWarlord already mentioned :) But I'm still really happy to see the shot in your video, quite the honour ;)
The umbrella needs a bit fine tuning, but the idea is really cool XD
That monster Mod looks interesting :3
After the third minute i was convinced to download this mod! This looks great!
Those poor bear pups... why can't they stay away when I'm swinging my battleaxe
Okay thats it gopher, with you name dropping Dragonlance I am now officially convinced youre at least around my age (mid thirties) as all your geek references here and there all seem very, very familiar to my own early years.
There's a mod called Loadout which allows you to save different equipment loadouts to the number keys. I do like showing up in the middle of nowhere naked after I'm done being a werewolf, this makes it much less of a pain to re-equip.
A truly lore friendly version of Immersive Creatures would be sweet :(.Would be a lot more impressive if they were created by scratch.
Umbrella looks awesome haha, I agree with your leather suggestions, that would make more sense to me. I might use it if/when it starts actually working when I make my werewolf character :).A more badass umbrella could be cool.
Thats right. In fact its better to remove them prior to transformation because you can have not enough time. The weapons are spared and simply dropped to the ground like everything else. Its not perfect since it takes some time to cycle through all the items in your inventory but it sure makes your life harder and more immersive. I encourage the player to play purely as a beast. And its one of the ways to do it.
That's the Vagabond Armor made by Hothtrooper44. It's part of his Immersive Armors mod but there's stand-alone version as well
What I'd love to see is a werewolf mod that prevented you from accessing your inventory until you leave combat, so if you fail to feed often enough in combat you may drop out of werewolf and not be able to re-equip until you were safe, to make the time pressure more meaningful even once you have the ring of hircine.
A major update to "Immersive creatures" is due out today! It will add a few extra little tidbits, such as patrols for factions. In said patrols, there will be beasts of war, such as armored dogs for the Legion and Goblins for Thalmor.
Also, be sure to check out "Immersive Patrols" and "OBIS" if you want more varied humanoid opponents to fight
at 3:30 you speak of the possible justification of the draman coming from magically manipulated dragon eggs. The thing is : there are no dragon eggs. Dragons were created, they don't reproduce or even die. When their bodies are destroyed the soul remains, that's why alduin could awaken them and they were really alive and not some kind of zombies.
That's why they fear the dragonborn, he can really kill them without any hope of coming back as he absorbs their soul.
If they are masters they will be forced to load earlier anyway ... but the fact that they are included means I messed up my block list.
I know this is an old video, and an older werewolf mod, but I just had a thought concerning shapeshifting that could be a different take on this, and be just as immersive as Gopher's suggestion to alternative werewolf transformation sequences.
What if we acknowledge the fact that the equipment appears to shift into the wolf form as well, and simply have it so that a certain element of the armor the character was wearing is visible on the werewolf. I don't think they should wear armor, but perhaps a small chest plate and/or wristbands appears on the werewolf form of the same material as the "shapeshifted" armor. This could give a small armor bonus to the werewolf or not as per your own taste, but if it does I would say the mod should also reduce the natural armor of the werewolf for balancing. This would not be the case if the player chose to remove the armour modifier aspect of the mod and just wanted the look instead.
I don't know why Gopher mentioned dragon eggs. SIC contains a lore book "About the Draman". It explains the reason for their existence and how they were created. The book is present in the mod since the first version.
that werewolf mod u spoke of about dropping ur gear...
id love it so long as my gear was always were I left it and not suddenly vanished
waking up without your gear in a random place sounds like a great idea, actually. It would be fun to have to find a way to steal some clothes and get back t your stuff, especially if the guards grabbed it or something.
No idea how I missed that awesome looking Immersive Creatures mod since I am on Nexus multiple times a day... everyday... anyway, downloading now!!
3:20 would be a pretty amazing Argonian transformation
That's the cool thing about: Immersion != Lore.
Even if a creature doesn't have any relevance in TES lore, its presence can deepen your immersion and improve your experience while playing Skyrim.
By the way, it may be a good idea to play all previous TES titles before complaining about lore unfriendliness. Dwemer Spectres were present in TES III: Morrowind.
Gopher! I so miss watching your Let's Play Skyrim (Again) but I don't want to spoil Dragonborn, as I haven't played it yet. Looking forward to when Richard is back in Skyrim :)
I thank them both :)
Captain: Troops get ready for the rain!
Troops: Where are the archers?
Captain: It's not a rain of arrows.....
This guy is Gopher. We respect Gopher. We worship him.
Also, dat exotic accent.
the dwemer dragon was like a creature "mecha-dragon" from my novel "andracos" but is just the last prove of my "involuntary visions" lol
I got really excited when Gopher said he read Dragonlance. I wonder if he'd do a playthrough as a Raistlin character.
Awesome little immersivity mod called "Think to yourself messages" by VorpalBlades.
Yes, this is the case for v6 RC. When the final version of v6 is released, all assets will be packaged in the v6 BSA.
You can install just v5.1.1 and use that (without having to use SKSE), or if you want to try out v6RC you need to install v5.1.1 for the BSA and then update to v6RC to add the additional assets and newer esp.
Excellent series. Raistlin alone makes it worth your time.
There is one naked breast on the Golden Saint (although it is completely coloured yellow). It is not something that bothers me but technically I guess it requires the adult flagging.
To be honest we should have expected it. Mass Effect was more like a great series of movies or a TV series rather than a game. And look how often those get messed up towards the end. Half the time they go all spiritual and start talking to angels or realise they are in the afterlife waiting to move on ..... *BOGGLE*
That'll be me ;)
I already created a lore-friendly version of Immersive Creatures - but as of v6 of Immersive Creatures I'm working with the author of the main mod to incorporate my changes into the main mod via MCM menu. There's a preset for "purist lore-friendly" and you can manually tweak the rest of the spawns.
Now I can finally pattern a Skyrim character after famed Batman villain, Penguin! It's about time.
Gopher, I hope you're keeping an eye out for Moonlight Tales - Werewolf and Werebear Overhaul! It's by the author of Tales of Lycanthropy and is set to be released May 1st. Details for it are in the posts for ToL.
I lived in Liverpool for about 9 years but I am not native :)
*LOL* Ask and ye shall receive- at least, if you're Gopher! Looks like that umbrella's been updated already! :D
Thanks much for the timely reply :). I thought about the reproccer, I just didn't think it reprocced creatures as well. Thought it only adjusted weapons, armor and alchemy ingredients.
Hooray! I see you found my Werewolf Aftermath mod. :D Now if only I could get you to try Dwemer Colosseum!
Gotta say, I don't enjoy the Lets Play, mainly because I'd rather play the game myself, but I love Mod Sanctuary and the support you've given to the modding community.
Keep up the good work Sir.
(And if you could, take a look at Skyrim Heart Beat on Nexus)
They are not master flagged, but they can be masters of another file :)
I call them Green bane. They are not perfect, but they are the best humanoid monstrous reptiles I encountered and Im greatfull to lifestorock that he let me use this model in my mod. Its a shame they dont have powerful abilities in this mod like poisoned claws or camouflage, encountering something like that would be a true nightmare for the player but perhaps one day they will. For now they are compatible with the smell system from my mod which means they can smell you from a large distance.
Gopher a big fan of immersion? I would never of guessed it!
You can't customize the creatures during installation, but you can control the spawns directly ingame via MCM menu. SIC is highly customizable.
I was gonna say that there should be a mod where you drop all your gear but YOU WERE ONE STEP AHEAD OF ME!
Holy cow you're amazing, I'll track the mod and download it when that version is out :) Thanks!
Yep, there are a lot of misconceptions about SKSE. It's completely safe, very easy to install, and allows Skyrim to do things that would not be possible otherwise. I've been using the script extenders since MWSE for Morrowind - and without the script extenders the games wouldn't be half as much fun!
Would be nice if all your gear dropped into a 'backpack', maybe except your equipped items. Otherwise picking up 4000 potion ingrediqents would get tedious :)
So how about the idea that when you transform back to human form you black out and wake up in a random location? :)
So as you begin tranforming you have to quickly remove your clothing or they are destroyed?
im all for more monsters but I'm REALLY into lore friendlys and it kind of IS overkill if it adds more monster than there are people.
Of course it would be tedious. Thats why its called "hardcore transformation". Its optional, but if you are looking for realism, here you are! :) PS I always adivise to put before things in container.
That black out is a very nice idea. I will talk about it with spwned/brevi and I suggest you do the same. Afterall it is he that does the forcefull transformations and I want to keep the mods compatible. Soon he will release his next mod and the two mods will create a cool synergy effect.
Ok, I checked and I do not have them as masters of ReProccer.esp. If you have that, then you need to fix your block list and rerun the reproccer jar.
You can alter it eh? like....what monsters are in the game? because I do like the fat looking goblin thing. The dwemer dragon is a bit over the top and kind of dumb. No matter how "lore" it is. I like lore friendly monsters but I don't want something way too over the top like a dragon person or 10 variations of a skeleton. At the end of the day to each his own. HOWEVER....I can alter it using MCM? I don't know what the abbreviation for that is. Mind explaining a bit more please?
well the dwemer dragon or the fire giant were a bit excessive.anyway thanks for pointing that there is a lore-friendly option!! i will definetely try it! :D
That umbrella's pretty cool. If they could make it like those in old chinese kung fu films or japanese action films (used by ninjas or something like), it'd be awesome. Your mention of razor edges reminded me of them. They could be a weapon class on their own or like stealth weapons or something. hehehe... not terribly immersive I suppose but fun!
Afraid that Zolmir has stopped responding, so MCM has declared it can't support the mod. Still, I think, conceptually, it could work. I mean, if nothing else, Zolmir's mod demonstrates that it CAN be done!
Gopher, you should look at Improved Combat Sounds! It's a perfect mod and adds a lot of realism to battles by making them sound more heavy and brutal.
The Dragonlace books? I LOVE those books!
Dragonlance! W00T!
Anyone that would like to see another variation, read the "Dragonson" book, it is the start of a great series.
Take a look at the second sticky post in the comment section of the mod page. The version v6RC contains a MCM menu to customize the mod.
You are a savior and a saint. Thank you.
7:54
the clouds in the background look like the face of a vampire lord 0.o
There's a lore-friendlier version of Skyrim Immersive Creatures, that removes some of the less lore-friendly creatures of the mod.
The extended Cut does it some justice if you're not into analysing. But the extended Cut could and SHOULD have been much better.
Can you choose which creatures you want to add to your game or you have to add all of them?
Winged Twilights look fudging awesome!
Who knows: that umbrella mod may end up causing a "Singing In the Rain" Skyrim dance video.
Just throwing this out there for lore hounds. If you prefer to throw out history as a guide to fantasy RP (perfectly valid), ignore this- Based on BRIEF research, it seems the umbrella is pretty anachronistic for Skyrim. The time period mirrors the early high middle ages socially, the dark ages culturally, and the late middle ages technologically, and from what I can find out, Umbrellas weren't in use to any appreciable degree until the 15th century.
From the sounds of it, WW Aftermath suffers the same problem all equip item scripts do in that they won't apply custom enchantments. Deazurain, author of the Loadout mod is attempting to start a petition to Bethesda to address this issue (skyrim.nexusmods /articles/1152). I personally believe this issue needs to be voiced more often, especially when reviewing mods that equip items.
There is No Death Mod, by Zolmir, which, when you would otherwise die, you instead wake up in a random location, and without all your stuff. (Presumably stolen by bandits.) It seems to me SOME clever, werewolf-friendly modder *COUGHGopherCOUGH* might be able to spin the mod base into something EXACTLY like you were describing for waking up after a were-romp.... ;)
