🇳🇱 Cab Ride 1997: Tram ride Arnhem Dutch Open Air Museum 21/8/2021

Today Cabview Heritage is a guest at the Netherlands Open Air Museum in Arnhem and we ride on the beautiful GETA 76. This is a replica of one of the Arnhem trams built by the museum itself, none of which has been preserved during the war. Year of construction is 1997. The teak wood that was used was found in a container at the demolition of a hospital in Amsterdam, great detail right? We start the ride from the depot, drive as an empty train to the Entree stop where we pick up the first passengers. From there we drive a full ride through the beautiful park. Once we have arrived back at the entrance, we continue as an empty train to drive backwards back into the depot. The Open Air Museum preserves a number of special buildings. For example, at 4:58 you see two original Amsterdam canal houses, the facades of which are the original. They were originally in the Jordaan. At 18:14 you see a farm on the right that would have been demolished for the construction of the High Speed ​​Railway Line. The museum has moved and rebuilt this farm in parts. Vandaag is Cabview Heritage te gast bij het Nederlands Openluchtmuseum in Arnhem en we rijden op de prachtige GETA 76. Dit is een door het museum zelf gebouwde replica van één van de Arnhemse trams, waarvan er door de oorlog geen enkele is bewaard gebleven. Bouwjaar is 1997. Het teakhout dat is gebruikt is gevonden in een container bij de sloop van een ziekenhuis in Amsterdam, geweldig detail toch? We beginnen de rit vanuit de remise, rijden als leegmat naar halte Entree waar we de eerste passagiers oppikken. Vanaf daar rijden we een volledige rit door het prachtige park. Weer aangekomen bij de Entree rijden we als leegmat verder om weer achteruit terug te rijden in de remise. Het Openluchtmuseum bewaart een aantal bijzondere gebouwen. Zo zie je op 4:58 twee originele Amsterdamse grachtenpanden staan waarvan de gevels de originele zijn. Ze stonden oorspronkelijk in de Jordaan. Op 18:14 zie je rechts een boerderij die gesloopt zou zijn voor de aanleg van de Hogesnelheidslijn. Het museum heeft deze boerderij in delen verhuisd en opnieuw opgebouwd. This was very nostalgic for me. When I was a boy, we traveled by tram from our home in the country to the end of the line in the city where I went to school. The tram traveled through woods and over streams, This is another place in Holland that I'd like to visit.
