Hi loved your tutorial. Currently working in China, hopefully get to the world soon.
Do the entire Zoonosis tree, and the waterborne, then if Iceland and Greenland are stubborn, spec a bit into cold.
And make sure to read up on the Symptoms. Some have interesting effects, and there are about half a dozen synergy Symptoms, like Projectile Vomiting and Walking Dead, that create extra effects.

The other piece that they did not go over was that pretty much all of the really terrible diseases were ones that evolved for other species then jumped to humans. So they had millions of years to reach a balance in their expected host then glitch out when in a human body.

What I learned from playing Plague Inc is to avolve ways of transmission, without symptoms. Because without symptoms like coughing, sneezing or anemia, the pathogen will just be a cell colony that does nothing to threaten the host, and thus is less likely to be researched on or have cures/vaccines developed for. Then, when the entire world has the pathogen in their bloodstream, the pathogen can mutate to become deadly fast, only then becoming visible. I know it's just a game, but the logic is relatively sound.
Still, some mild symptoms increase transmission immensely - sneezing in particular is the bomb.

I've always had the best luck with India. It's fairly central for shipping and travel so spread to other countries is easy. I've also had worse issues with Greenland than Madagascar, as far as isolation.
@mayonnaise coughed somewhere else... had that happen actually! Started in Madagascar and someone sneezed in Africa and before I could get a vector out Madagascar shut their port and I just made Madagascar a waste land.. Was not about to quit after trying to get there and was upset enough to make my virus evolve to the point that it was basically worse than that of rabies just to spite them (also thought that if i made them delirious enough that they would accidentally open port, obviously the game is not realistic so did not happen..)
