      Bhaishahab, If a projectile is thrown at an angle 45 degree from the horizontal surface, it reaches maximum distance, that's absolutely True. But there is a catch. 45 degree angle would be found if we neglect air resistance and consider a point like particle. In all 11, 12, JEE level questions we usually neglect air resistance and consider point particle. But in practical applications, especially while developing missiles and rockets, we can't neglect air resistance. Aerodynamic drags increased significantly. That make the calculations complicated. And if you consider air resistance the angle would no longer be 45 degree

    40° for R(max) in real life because the air will give it a slight bit of lift & tilt it upwards to 45°.
    That's why Javelin throwers never throw at 45°.

    Every ballistic missile follow projectile motion, they don't have any booster in terminal phase but due to gravity and with huge weight it gains momentum and this momentum converts into kinetcis energy and due to this it has high impact

      ​@@shadowwarrior2000 the govt demanded exactly that & suggested a trainer aircraft with some firepower ( as trainers need lesser power ).
      But the ADA's love for GE engines is SO MUCH that they came up with HLFT-42 , initially saying 'needs F-404 category engine' ; then refined the design, increased the payload & came to their favourite " needs F-414" as it is a bigger aircraft.
