    4:10 You might know this by now, but there are actually 3 oscillators on the Grandmother if you patch the “wave out” of the modulation section into the “noise in”

    The Grandmother doesn't really appeal to me until you bring in the spring reverb. That is an awesome sound.
    I need a real spring reverb for my synths.

    Its a great little gem! It can also do really nice FM and you can lock the 2nd oscillator with the sync button to stay in tune. This featre alone extends the range of possible sounds greatly!

      They're so different I don't have a favourite.. but for tone, playing with modular, experimenting and general messing around to find nice things that work with other kit like my moogerfoogers - the GM. For overall 'usefulness' and getting tones up and running quickly, presets, editor, working with DAW and automation etc the S37
      So if you're more into noodling, experimenting, committing to 'tape' and working from there then the GM.
      If you often come back to the same track and need repeatability then the S37.
      If you're more likely to sync it with the DAW, then the S37 .. to euro rack and CV stuff then the GM.

    well you’re the expert but i think matriarch is the best at evolving pads and drones, and i’d argue that’s what she’s specialized at, pair her with any number of amazing pedal reverbs, such as strymon big sky, and i think you have something uniquely different from poly synths

  • @redlester
    @redlester 4 года назад

    Is the Sub(sequent) 37 not the one in between this and the Matriarch? Price wise it is.
    When are you getting the 16 voice Moog ONE to show us? ;-)

    • @StarskyCarr
      @StarskyCarr  4 года назад

      Price wise yes, but it’s a completely different synth. So much choice though I’m not complain. :))

    Eh I might have joined the fest with my Rogue and the Zen Delay, but I already started tearing my studio apart last night. Maybe in a week or two... Analog gear pic fwiw: www.dropbox.com/s/gyf5lgmzev0ahkc/2020-03-27%2022.58.14.jpg?dl=0.
    This weekend I'm going to try to make a video of how my (mostly evacuated) workplace looks like Doom3. Staya tuna for that.

    You know if they had brought this out in classic moog black I may well have been drawn to it but these pastel colours make me feel sick , it looks like a little girls toy , a true ponce of a design , moog are now crap company in all ways , Bob would have gone ape if he had seen this , moogs whole ethos is the bottom of the pit now , although have to say that the moog one is a great synth , surprised they didn’t make it in pink with diamantes on it
