When I made it to this part in Automata I legitimately cried. I remember years ago just turning on the original Nier and staying in the library for hours at a time to hear this theme.
I remember playing Automata first and having no idea what this library meant. But the game made it clear to me that this location was incredibly important despite its plain and empty architecture. After playing Replicant, this scene meant the world to me.
I loved Nier Automata, but when i got until this stage i felt that i missed something mind-blowing by not playing the original Nier. Never had the chance to play it. But now with the annoucement of the Replicant remaster i wonder if i will be surprised by seeing all the connections it has with Automata.
i definitely recommend playing Replicant (get all 5 endings in it like automata, the important Yoko Taro rule!) , and then replaying automata to see all the connections.
I recently beat automata, then a friend lended me his copy of NieR, so I'm playing through it on ps3. I got impatient, didn't want to wait 6 weeks to know more. Still getting Replicant though.
Everyone who found this video: i definitely recommend playing Nier Replicant when it comes out in April 2021 , (get all 5 endings in it like automata, the important Yoko Taro rule!) , and then replaying automata to see all the connections from the first game to its sequel.

Honestly as an automata first, its also a great journey discovering the roots of nier. That why even though I tell people to do drakenguard>nier replicant> then automata. I suggest the other way around since if you start at automata it's like digging thru a rabbit hole of the nier world. It's a different expericence from doing the series properly
@@lordlopikong6940 nah it just makes automata not feel as impactful if you play it first. When they said all the humans died, I just kind of said “ok” cuz I played it first. After playing replicant first that reveal is lot more impactful when you know who the humans were
Yeah, it's just called Song of the Ancients - Popola. Maybe it's been taken down from RUclips though; Square Enix has been taking down uploads of the OST.
It's the same theme that plays in the Library of NieR Gestalt (the first NieR game), and that place is like a reflection of it (the theme is called "Song of the Ancients - Popola")
Its from Nier on PS3 and Xbox 360. i definitely recommend playing Nier Replicant Remake on PS4 or Xbox one, when it comes out in April , (get all 5 endings in it like automata, the important Yoko Taro rule!) , and then replaying automata to see all the connections.
At first, I thought the developers were being lazy re-using a level. But lately I think there's a definite connection. It could even be *_the same library!_* Devola and Popola know more about this tower's origin and purpose than they're letting on...
Played Automata first
Entered the library in Replicant remake
Got emotional overload
SAME
The exact opposite happened to me, I played nieR gestalt first and god, seeing the library in automata with the original ost was such an experience
Fck same thing also happen to me its like i , wait i saw this somewhere then the music maigod
Automata was like 14000 years later than nier replicant. How the hell emil was survive long enough...
Even kaine and nier already gone.
@@ISanJr Emil already is really old. He was turned into a weapon in the year 2026, he doesn’t age. He can’t die of old age anymore.
Dev Intention:
See Library in Automata and have feels.
Reality: Saw Library in Replicant and had feels.

I've been doing that very often with Replicant ^^
I miss papa nier :

Just started playing the Nier Replicant remake and immediatly after entering the libary i thought of this scene from Nier automata xD
EXACTLY
I know right it's crazy there's also a hidden thing in replicant somewhere that directly connects it to automata
SAME
SAME HERE BRO 🤝
I'll admit, it did make me stop and pause the game for a few minutes while trying to figure out how all the pieces fit together.
The middle door though
Lapis No one had ever entered that door, right?
Lapis I watched alot of streams and no one can open it
Lapis omfg
Royce Jose jack did
@@itsChanandler I entered that door though. It opened after I fought Ko-Shi in the library and then he jumped through the ceiling.
Man when the Nier anime goes to the tower again I'm going to cry.
Finding this library in Automata made me cry so much. Especially the files you can read in there. Oh man

automata basically becomes fan service after you play nier.
oh yes you will all the references youll have lots of "fun" ;)

4:02 feels sad man
I revisit this every now and then, I want to experience this again, playing Gestalt first was the best decision I have ever done
I just found out that this library is actually a reference to the original nier

4:04 IT’S YONAH!!! Oh my gosh…. and the reference to ‘the Original’ That’s Nier! Her father/brother.
Memoirs of Gestalt.
I never even played the original Nier or remake and this part broke me. I've never had music affect me as much as it did while playing Automata.
As soon as I entered this room, I recognised it so....I spent so many hours here with Emil, Kaine, and Nier....the nostalgic hit me very hard
Damn it, even the music is the same! Going from Automata, to Replicant, back to this... fuck, this hit me hard
I knew there was something special about this place. Yesterday I played nier replicant and now know why. Amazing.
can't wait for the remake of the original nier
So today I started playing the Replicant remake.
Instant feels the moment I heard this theme, and saw the library.
Figured it out, Oma runs the cult and has a spell book room.
Yes, I also just finished Replicant E
Probably a secret spellbound library over seas.
bro... BRO! the tears that i cried when this soundtrack started playing reminding me of the old days when i played replicant...
I been stuck at the beginning of the games home, library. First heard in automata. Amazing
This is why you don’t play automata before replicant
I play automata first, then went and played automata replicant . Then went back to automata to find more stuff that relates to the first game😖

even the music is the same :'0
I watched the automata let’s play before gestalt. Now after finishing gestalt, THIS HAS SUCH AN IMPACT

OK it's the same as in the original nier. Either they tried to show a connection ( which doesn't exist tbh) or they were lazy
It's called a reference

Everything in NieR is connected. A2 and Kaine are even connected.
