Cathy
a 10" square should yield 16 2 1/2" squares. You could use a bit of the solid to make up the difference for the corners.
@@Scrappyendings I am going to use all the squares so the centers will be from the yardage.
I think that’s going to be beautiful! Love that fabric!
@btamwen I can't wait to see how it turns out.
😊I'm going to be playing catchup!
@sharonframpton1887 I will be too. I haven't cut my strips out yet.
Downloaded the pattern.....can't wait....
@@tammyschweitzer7850 so excited to see how this turns out. I know the fabric can make all the difference in the world.
I use my Accuquilt cutter to cut my 2 1/2" strips then I turn the strips and make the 2 1/2" squares. Easy Peasy.
@@Scrappyendings I am thinking about doing that as well.
Ohhhh Starberry will be beautiful!!!!
@@moodygirlcreates130 I am hoping so.
Im working on my blocks.. I'm assembling the 4 patches now.
@moodygirlcreates130 I haven't cut my strips yet but think.i am going to let the accuquilt do that for me.
❤ the Starberry fabric!
@paulacox902 oh me too!
It stormed here yesterday & i kept on sewing! Working on my blocks & enjoying. Using Fossil Fern by Benartex & black BG Fabric. Going slow because of hands where they removed a bone in my thumb in 2021 & drop things all the time & hard to pick things up but I'm not giving up because i love to sew & it`s my therapy. Enjoyed the company. Thank you & be blessed
@glendahyde871 oh lightening hit something nearby. Knocked the power out for my dad, sister and aunt but on pulled my power down for a little bit.
Going to be beautiful 😊 have a great day
@@patricianewman5233 you too!
I got do my sashing.. Hopefully tomorrow.
@@ShannonMoody it's cut but that is about it.
Hi Cathy! I printed the pattern today. Now to get my scraps out to plan. Your fabric you chose is going to make a pretty quilt. Have a good day!
@@tessahouse9960 I am so excited to see what everyone comes up with.
It’s going to be a beautiful quilt 0:00
Thank you! I can't wait to see how it turns out.
I started a similar pattern back in 2020 but it has cornerstones in the sashing. I pulled it out and didn’t see a pattern so I measured. Looks like my squares were 5” before I added the 2.5” corners but my 1/4” seam was soooo bad back then. I ended up squaring up my blocks to 9” squares. Only had 9 blocks, luckily I found a charm pack of Clover Hollow of Sherry and Chelsi so making more blocks.
That sounds amazing! So happy to have you joining us.
I deleted my previous comment. I suggested something before watching the whole video! I am very excited to get this going. I went through all of my uneven scraps and picked fabric (I hope some are wide enough). I will take a before and after picture. I decided to not buy any new fabric and use what I have without using anything in a pack (FQ, Layer or Charms). Strickly scraps. I hope it turns out. It's the first time I have put fabric together (without a prepackaged bundle) for a quilt. Thank you and have a Blessed day!
@@madiemay4694 It should be amazing! Can't wait to see it.
Just found you and subscribed.
Knoxville TN here.
I bought a tray like you did and use it for the very same thing. Thanks for the video. I have got to get used to sitting and using the cutter like you have.
@brendasweeney2806 thank you for watching. So happy to have you here.
Eecks. Thats a lot of corner stones. I wonder if this line of fabric has a 2 1/2" strip bun available. I'm with you on the blue. It might throw the whole thing off.
I have my machine plugged into a surge protector. But i still unplug during storms.
@@melodywalls4693 it does.
I think it's crazy to cut them to 4 1/2 when 5 is a good standard!!
This is a pattern I think can easily be adjusted to whatever size you would like squares to be.
I love that ruler with slide cutter. Can you post a link on RUclips or on your Facebook page? Thanks! I am just getting into quilting small items. I have so much trouble with my long ruler slipping as I use a rotary cutter. I made the Shabby Fabrics Cathedral Window Flag quilt for gifting to my grandson who graduated high school and who has been in Civil Air Patrol since he was 12 years old. He is a very patriotic young man. I printed a label with photos and info for the back of the quilt. I made a small Plum Easy folded star trivet. My next projects will be the folded star pillow cover / wall hanging.
The slide cutter is a Fiskars and the link is in the description of the video. Sounds like you are a busy person as well.
Cathy, I have a Stripology XL. I just don't understand how to use it. Tried watching the youtube videos but they go so fast.
@@conniecruz3346 my hope is to eventually be able to invest in a set.
I just got the stripology rulers and learning to use them as well. I hope to have videos up soon.
I think that I saw that you live in Louisiana? I live in SW Louisiana, near DeQuincy, 70 miles due north of Cameron.
@donnaphillips7364 I do, but I am in north Louisiana near Monroe.
Narrowed down 2 layer cakes that are almost the same color way - Blue Escapes and Cocoa Blue - AAAAHHHHH
Ohhhhh that should be nice.
