The original owner of a lock box has long since moved from this apartment block. How can we reset the code without knowing what they used? Failing that, how do we remove the box from the wall?
It should be mandatory for the landlords to remove old master locks off the walls. It should not be new tenants/new owners responsibilities at all. Only positive side to this, is thieves will have less will to attempt breaking it… it will also give you higher chance as nobody will be able to tell which lock you got your spare keys in…. That’s why I am leaving the old ones on the wall.
Lock looks good, however the combination can be worked out in a few minutes using a thin piece of metal cut from a coke can. Not a key safe but a key unsafe.

If you have any idea what code your family member was trying to enter, you could try numbers either side e.g. 1234 try 1233, 1235, 1224, 1244, 1134, 1334 etc or alternatively take it off the wall and while watching TV start 0000 and go through the other 9,999 codes.

A wee tip is to leave the top screw slightly untightened, so you can hang the keys on the head of the screw

If u have an alarm on Ur home then it's safe to use otherwise I don't recommend
