Earlier in the video you mentioned maybe doing the Traverse. Just curious was the original plan to traverse? If so what was the cause to audible and not do it? I'm always curious what causes someone's decision to change plans. Risk assessment and decided it was too high? Weather?
Enjoyed the video. How would you describe the difficulty of the Mt Wilson approach and climb from Kilpacker Basin? Looks like you avoided any class IV terrain on the ascent (obviously, the descent off Wilson and ridge to El Diente had significant class 4)? I climbed El Diente many years ago via Kilpacker Basin but the scree was pretty annoying. I'm a lot older now and wondering if this route to Mt Wilson (and return the same way) would work for us?
Good accomplishment getting both peaks in one trip. Did El Diente from Killpacker and tried Wilson but turned back near the top at the rock ridge you pointed out there was a little ice and snow. Was wondering which of the two peaks you thought was more technical or difficult near the top. Thanks for the video.
That was an odd transition... what happened to the girl? We never saw her or heard mention of her after hearing she may do her first grand traverse. Hope she made it OK!

I personally thought that El Diente was more technical, but also more solid than Mt. Wilson. Coming down Wilson was not fun at all!

Guess there are no class 4 exposed moves going up Wilson from this route like there is on the standard route?
@@HikinginColorado that's right on, dude. Mt. Wilson has some refrigerator sized moving rocks that make it scary as hell to descend.

How is the Invisalign?
Very good! 😂
