Thank you for this detailed overview!
Just opened my copy. Watching your video before playing. This seems like a very zen game.
My favorite part of this one is the sense of cultivation of genetic parts. They really nailed that one, especially at lower player counts.
I love this game!
It’s really good!
May I know if this boardgame also talks about law of segregation by mendel?
No idea :)
I like Genotype a lot. The mechanics are very well connected to the scientific background and theme. So it is not one of these many abstract Euros out there.
The component quality of the Deluxe Edition is extraordinary good.
Overall for me at least a #8 in my BGG rating.
I went 7 in my rating. It's very good. It hasn't held up to multiple plays since you're basically doing the same thing in every game. I get that the whole game is about validating genes. I suppose I wish there were a few more paths to follow.

It is a an easy to learn and midweight Euro with a limited number of options therefore and good for occassional play.
Getting a suitable assistant in the early game is quite important for the rest of the game I think. And with at least 3 players it is more interesting than with two.
Because of my academic background as a PhD in Biochemistry with long experience also in plant genetics this game has conquered a special place in my heart :-)
@@kwulfe that, I agree with. The theme is wonderfully cultivated in this one.
That's a beautiful game. Sorry I missed the Kickstarter. Do Genius Games usually end up in retail?
Some of them do. I've definitely seen Cytosis and Periodic in my FLGS.
Just FYI ... I bought Genotype in retail. Not sure if it's still available, but it did go to retail.
@@jimz8852 I grabbed it retail and the upgrade components are on Amazon and Genius games website
