Thanks Sir Wode Maya for firmly correcting your lake tour guy about the discovery of the lake as claimed by the settlers, as you've put it right the lake existed before the arrival of the colonizers and we as Africans should tell our story.❤🇿🇦
🇯🇲That word “discovered” as always been arrogantly weaponized by those colonial powers to mean “we first saw”. Just bluntly put “discovered” suppose to mean “ we’re the first in the civilized world to lay eyes on”. Logically, the new arrivals couldn’t possibly discovered our houses after years of us living there. However, the days of histories written by the victors, not by the vanquished are long gone. Thanks to the internet we can narrate our own stories.
Wode Maya, exceptional in correcting the guide that accompany you on lake Malawe regarding the narrative about Europeans discovering the lake. The false narrative is is all over Africa, Lake Nyanza, Mosi Oa Tunya Falls. We Africans must change the narrative. WE AFRICANS MUST TELL OUR STORY!
Vraiment je suis né au Malawi Métis Malawi italienne partie là-bas j'avais 10 ans depuis je vie en France et enfin retrouver mon papa qui n'est plus de se monde
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. Wode Maya you have started the steps to Africa unifying because of your journeys across Africa. Those who are scared of other African countries and their people are learning that we are the same and there's nothing to be afraid of, those who fear us uniting know what we will be more than what we know ourselves
Owing to how Bantu languages are similar, knowing kiswahili would go a long way from kenya down to south Africa. I can recognize when that lady is asking wode maya for his name.
MAN THE FISH LOOKING SO DELICIOUS 😋 MALAWI ON TOP OF MY BUCKET LIST AND TO HEAR HOW HOSPITABLE THE PEOPLE ARE SOUNDS RELAXING 😎 🌞 SUNRISE LOOKS HEAVENLY.
Watching from Canada 🇨🇦 thank you Wodamaya for show casing Malawi 🇲🇼 🎉 You are such a blessing flowing in positive energy. Keep up the good work you and your beautiful wife - stay positive and blessed - Africa 🌍 loves you❤❤🎉❤❤❤❤❤🎉
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! I love how you greeted everyone like old friends - so wholesome! It was great to see my home country from your perspective Wode 😍
Good video about this great Country. People show you love wherever you go . Keep up the good work and also continue to love your wife as was shown in this video
Ocean fish look very silver just as these fish and it was something i was gonna point out… out of curiosity, i googled and indeed the lake is older than lake Victoria.. by millions of years. Hence the abundance of more diverse fish species.. I actually now want to visit this historical lake.
I grew up with the word "Nyasaland" or a "Nyasa" person here in South Africa. It sounded like it was an insult of sorts to me. Thanks for the education. You won't believe how old I am but still, I enjoy what young Africans like Wode Maya are doing. If politics won't unite us as Africans, videos like this one will, even if the process might take long... Also, many of us Africans were made (today still) to think Africans are extremely poor wherever one went and now the myth is being shattered.. Thanks to many young Africans who have taken it upon themselves to walk all over Africa, cameras in hand to prove that we Africans too, have a lot to be proud of...
How I wish I had opportunity to meet this fellow young man along the lake. I feel good Wode has been in my beloved mother Malawi the warm heart of Africa
The lady at the gate spoke Chichewa " Dzina lako ndani"? Which can translate in Kiswahili as " Jina lako nani"? The Bantu languages are similar. In Malawi we call water Madzi, in Kiswahili it is Maji, and in Zulu language it is Amanzi. Africa is one. We have to be one as we are from one Mother Africa.
Malawi looks beautiful The lady is correct and she also said "Malawi people are the friendliest people in the world" That mean Malawi is the best place to be Its a all rounder Beautiful country and great people What can beat that? 😂
I am glad you corrected him Wode Maya. Thank you! This is an example of what's wrong with our system of education. That is what we learnt in our colonially biased classes alright from as long as I can remember. Everything was taught so that the colinialists would be seen as superior and possessing advanced knowledge compared to us. This is what Mr Dzombe and Mr Kalinda were refering to when you were with them. It's way, way past time to teach our people the truth about ourselves as Africans.
Tilapia is a family but chambo is a special tilapia in the family. I have eaten one in Uganda, Egypt, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Philippines and other countries but it's not the same at all at all
Great video as always Maya!🔥 How can a lake in Africa which had people living and existing around it for thousands of years be discovered by david livingston? They say the same thing about the vic falls! Can you see how they have re-written our history and we just regurgitate it without much thought? Thank you for educating our brother right then and there!👏🏿
Thank you Wode Maya. Emphasizing again. David Livingstone never discovered lake Malawi. the lake existed way before his arrival and there were people living there before his arrival. thumps up Africa. let us change the narrative
Thank you for correcting the tour guide. We need to change that narrative of Europeans discovering anything in Africa.Nice video and Malawi is beautiful.
It's my first time coming across your videos, thank you so much for visiting my country Malawi the warm heart of Africa❤, i will subscribe right away, hope you had a great time
Maya there are so many things we do in Ghana that you don’t know you can add lemon on certain food like roasted fish and many in Ghana okay. I love you guy.
True Maya. Tell your own story. You can’t discover something when you’re not the first. And it wasn’t lost so neither did he rediscover it. Fellow Malawians…Your ancestors swam in Lake Malawi o …they ate fish from it too.
ThankU! ThankU! ThankU! for CORRECTING the man/guide "Livingston did not discover", Alkebulan & Alkebulan American s need to start spreading, speaking truth. ThankU again!
I love my country people, Wode Maya you're so welcoming and making everyone comfortable around you. Thank you for visiting our country. Am looking forward to personally meet you.
🇯🇲You came thru again Maya!!! I’m pleasantly surprise how hugh Lake Malawi is considering the country is a landlocked body. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the beach which circumspectively makes sense because Malawi is “sheltered” from strong oceans currents which bypass multiple countries gathering tons of garbage waiting to be deposited. Very refreshing to see the abundance of marine life and the subsequent flourishing consumption and export of seafood; thanks to landlocked restriction of the large ocean-going fishing trawlers along the Somalian coastline depleting the resources of a already poor nation. I suppose their fresh-water seafood diet is less of a concern with sodium intake as compared to catches from the briney oceans.
The joy when Maya meets fellow brothers and sisters is priceless. That will be my exact reaction when I meet my boy. Well done my brother. We are indeed proud of you. Keep up the good work 💪🏽🍾🔥⭐.
Wow … the lake at the fishing village looks is so clear.. like a sea.. I remember my father took pics at lake Malawi in 97 and I remember how beautiful the beaches were
Wode Maya, I am not from Africa, I am from Papua New Guinea in the Pacific just up north of Australia. I must say, you are an inspiration and champion of the promotion and unity of Africa's positive image. Keep pushing the positive vibe on Africa against the negative stereo types. Peace
Wode was asking the driver what's happening? He answered 'chinamwali'. This is a passage rite for girls who have reached puberty-it is celebrated at community level.
Who here loves Maya for what he's doing more than I do? Let me see your hand 🙌 up❤
