I’ve used rubber circles as needle pullers but that gadget looks pretty clever. I also never thought to use a spoon underneath and that also sounds like a good idea. I’m going to try it! Thank you!
Thank you dear. I have heard about the spoon method, however I have never seen it in action. Also my first time seeing that needle puller. I use silicone finger tips, but I can see how your device would be better at grasping to little needle showing. Thanks for sharing.😊
This is a good idea. i have been practicing but i worry that my stitches arent going through all the layers if I cant feel my needle underneath. which makes my stitches more like big stitch quilting 😅
The spoon really helps to turn the needle back up to the top and helps you to get a real stitch on the back since you can push all the way through the layers.
Do you know of the brand of your needle puller? I would love to find one that is all metal like you have, but can't find one anywhere! Great tutorial, and beautiful quilt!
Hi, I once saw it on Keepsake Quilting but they don't have them anymore. I will look into getting them to sell on my web store, which my son is now setting upon for me. You might be able to find them elsewhere if you look for needle puller.
She did say at one point that she used the spoon on or with her thumb, which I took to mean her thumb rests in the bowl of the spoon and her fingers curl around to lightly grip the handle. I'll have to experiment, but after seeing several quilters using a smooth thimble underneath or another tool (Aunt Becky I think?), I had been considering using a spoon myself.

Needle puller and spoon. Been sewing all kinds for decades and you just changed my life! Thank you ❤️
First mention I've ever heard of a needle puller, that sounds like a helpful tool. I like the spoon idea, too.
Great to see you! I learned from you- i have to try with medal thimble- i did years ago but i forgot- ill try again- Thank you!🥰❤️
Wow! A needle puller! Thanks for sharing!!!!

Yes, the spoon really sees my fingernail on the bottom!
Thank you dear.

I got mine on Amazon. Mine is hot pink. It’s $10
How or where can I get the needle puller that you use?
What brand needle puller
Where can I buy a needle puller
Would have been nice if you showed how to hold the spoon.
Indeed. There really was no spoon.

What a shame. Really bad camera work. Even to show your tools--most are off screen. And then it continues to miss what we want to see.
