      @@Only_Cans_101 I miss the Quake 1 engine.
      Although it couldnt, back then, render really large areas so the maps tended to be cramped, its games had a very specific charm to it.
      Btw, try out Heretic 2 by all means. It looks GREAT eventho its the Q2 engine its mostly the same as Hexen 2. The coloured lighting and plain out atmosphere Raven Software put in that is excellent! I finished it a year ago and i saw quite a few sights, like a cave with water, i just had to sit and stare at it. Its the Quake 2 engine pushed to its very max.

      MadJak91 I actually already finished it. Of course mine is the PS1 version. It's actually a very nice port, though I have played through the PC version. Centaurs are actually one of the easier enemies imo, even though the ones that fire bolts from their shields are the most annoying enemies as far as I am concerned.
      I wish I had my Hexen II copy still though, I miss playing that game. Hexen is my only option for a Hexen fix right now.

    • @MadJak91

      Hexen 2 was built with an improved version of the old Quake engine but models tend to be unrelated to that. It depends on how well they are made in the first place and with how many animations. Seems that Raven really did a good job for an early full 3D game!

    • @MadJak91
      @MadJak91  6 лет назад

      Cannot say for sure. It seems that Raven games in general did not do AS well due to strong competition and I guess at that point, fantasy games started to go out of style. Raven then switched to CoD expansions (money is money) and you can say that is the deal with the devil.

    • @THEGRUMPTRUCK
      @THEGRUMPTRUCK 5 лет назад

      Raven software was bought by Activision and now makes CoD content unfortunately. Activision is trying to keep the rights for the Heretic/Hexen series from ID. look up Heretic II, it exists but is difficult to get because of Activision.

      first time playing Hexen 2 now and finding too much waste of time trying to figure out where to go next, buttons and other stuff gets hidden within the textures...
