I have never seen something like that here in EU... I dont know, she might have more of an active carer but her movies/series didn't really target Europe.
she played a surfer girl whp had her arm chopped off by a shark and learned hpw to surfa again. she played pretty cool movie roles. the carrie diaries by far her worst, but became known and 'unliked' by the mainstream mass for it.
i suggest you watch the soul surfer :) it really makes me tear

Try watching Please Stand By. The protagonist has autism and she wants to enter her star trek fan script into a competition so she can prove her distant family that she is well accomplished. Haven't seen it yet but it look really interesting!
I find nuerotypical actors' portrayal of autistic characters unconvincing most of the time. I guess it convinces other nuerotypical people, but some day we've gotta get a good portrayal out there. I think we've had enough "raising awareness" - autism is a household term. What we need is acuracy. Nothing about us without us.
the actress who plays glory in this film is exceptional! The fact that she doesn't have autism in real life definitely makes her acting skills come to light more she played it so well for someone so young. hats off to her!
All I watched was the trailer, my aspie/autie-dar did not ping. Nothing about us without us. Do not expect us to feel greatful for misrepresentation and apropriation, and do not expect us not to notice.

stuff not the point. The disabled community have limited opportunities. This was one opportunity that a person with a disability actuly could have had and they have it to a person who isnt disabled. Also they werent saying they are all the same, representation of disability is what they meant, representation doesnt mesn you stand for each individual ..
@@kateorpen535 you forget that a movie is not made to make one disabled person happy. Blind casting is much better than cherry picking an actor just because she is also autistic
First I think it would be hard to get a low functioning autistic child ,especially because I think you need to understand directors cues ,second I think they did a pretty good job, the stimming, the eloping(running off, ), the food stealing. The sensory issues .Just go watch FatheringAutism especially the early videos,the daughter is nonverbal Autistic .
Exited to see this film. I love AnnaSophia Robb she is great at taking on very different and difficult roles. She is just fantastic. She can do no wrong.
+Stark Halen Carrie Diaries was probably a pretty good paycheck for her which can be important, but a bit of a distraction IMO. She is an indie queen but there are SO many very talented young actresses out there that even known ones have to take the work when up comes up. Anyone talking about the dearth of good female roles today needs to look at the under 25 crowd of actress. The BOYS are the window dressing now.

I have asperegers syndrome, I've worked with autistic kids and many other levels on the spectrom since I was 11. After all these years I've seen high, low functioning people and myself overcome difficult situations. I'm proud 2 be apart of a wonderful community.
Hopefully this movie will show there is a chance for kids like Glorie xxxx
I used to have the biggest crush on AnnaSophia Robb when I was younger, and she's even more beautiful than I remembered now. Her acting looks like it's improved too! I'll be checking this out.

Watched this film last night and man was it good!! It touched me in so many levels from laughter and into tears. I think it to me in my opinion a great example of what it's like to live with an autism child and how their are struggle and great rewards. Bravo to this amazing cast and thank you for giving the awareness on that.

i loved this movie , think it showed a really good insight into who parents do to help provide for there children and even may give knowledge to those who don't know much about autism , i thought the little girl potrayed it all so well in my opinion and Anna sophia robb could really do no wrong she was an amazing actress before and still is now

Very underrated movie. It's truly amazing movie. Anna did great as usuall. The actress who played autistic kid was superb. Anna should do more movies. She is beauty, brainy, talented at the same time.

Really want to see this. Knowing someone who has had their sister taken away from them by social services and after working with autistic children myself, I feel this movie is gonna be a tear jerker.

This movie is so good! Had never seen this girl before but she blew me away. It's exciting to see such talent from a new generation actress. Hope she'll get good roles and be up there with Rachel Mcadams, Isla Fisher, Emma Stone, etc.
"New Generation actress" she's been around for years. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (2005), Bridge to Terebithia (2007), Race to Witch Mountain (2009), The Carrie Diaries (2013-2014) AnnaSophia has been acting for years. She left in 2012 to focus on uni at NYU and is an alumni. She just recently returned to acting. Like Cole and Dylan Sprouse.
Thanks for the CV rundown ;) I don't mean to discredit any of her previous work at all. On the contrary, for her to be this good she's surely worked very hard. I'm just saying that at this stage in her life she's ready for some big time success. When she was a kid doing those movies before she wasn't breaking any ground, even if she was very good in them.
