Because a movie about actual teens would probably be two hours of guys chasing muff, girls prepping their muffs and backstabbing eachother, people smoking weed in the bathrooms or munching on edibles in the back of the class, and some kid huffing WD-40 in the janitor’s closet. They do it on game night usually at my school movies just want to make it easier to divide the popular and not popular into groups which is pretty unrealistic in my experience
