Thanks for the videos, I just purchased parts from open builds to get my k40 fixed up after a couple years of being broke down. I'll be following along hoping mine will be as nice as yours.
Yes, if your not carful, they will melt. A very hot iron with a small tip and quickly solder. Use a mating plug with alligator clip on the pin being soldered as a heat sink. It takes practice and I did burn my share of them.
Do you have a link for the Z table build? BTW Nice job, I have a similar build on-going but am having trouble between the Cohesion board and Lightburn. What software are you using to operate the cutter? I mounted the Y stepper in the middle of the back using two half shafts, eliminated the 3D printed drive pulley that way.
It’s a really nice clean conversion, I have printed the first group of files, I have the aluminium extrusion, gears, wheels, bolts and nuts etc to start the build but think I will get the cloud ray mirror holder set first before pulling out the k40 gantry, I will just get everything done up to that point, your Frankie 40 looks a lot more solid and professional than the original and from the videos sounds a lot quieter , I will also be interested to know if the cohesion upgrade is worth the dollars spent, freight to Australia is $100usd before even purchasing the board, I have been looking into the meerkat 40 software, currently using k40 whisper, did you try the meerkat 40 software?
I’m in the process of building mine!

I am your fan from Russia, I am very much looking forward to your new videos, you are great
Very nice...where are the adjustable bed stl s
How hard was it to align the mirrors with each other
very easy, start with the tube being aligned.
How did you connect the wires to the JST female connects? They are solder pins and won't that melt the plasric socket??
