I just loved thr concept of starting off with the map basically having no color, then adding color to an area each star, it felt so satisfying by the end and seeing port prisma with all its color back.
This is my single favorite track from Color Splash. I decided to sit down and transcribe it, and it just made me fall in love with it even more. Starting off simple with just bass, shaker and drumset, then progressively adding more and more instruments until you have a full 10-piece ensemble! Start off simple with piano, then add guitar, marimba, trumpet & trombone, violin, and finally electric piano (and wood blocks) to bring everything together in a triumphant celebration of your journey
While linearity isn't bad or good (merely one way to approach story progression), Color Splash did give the series a breath of fresh air in that regard (Sticker Star more or less only had the illusion of non-linearity, since you still had a set order of self-contained worlds in practice).
Color splash is such a piece of art. the worlds, characters, and music - It all just feels so cohesive - that's why its my favorite Paper Mario game. And this is just about the only place on the internet I feel safe saying this which kinda sucks.
Ah that last part is all too relatable. I genuinely will never understand why people get so mad at others for enjoying things they don't. Maybe its because I don't hate anything to a high enough degree (heck, I don't think there's any piece of media I truly hate), but I just can't, for the life of me see what there is to be mad about.
