I didn't cry when I first watched the MV. It was only now, watching your reaction video, and getting dumped by my ex-lover right before Valentine's. I CRIED. It is so beautifully made and I empathized with you babe. I realized that I never felt the gravity of my LGBT community in his MV coz I was generally happy and ungrateful for what I had and felt unrelateable to him coz the mood was so deep and sad (which I was not then). And it was in a country that censors these things. My country (though still homophobic) does not CENSOR but encourages LGBT as a comic relief in the media. His country censors it's existence completely, and only as fanservice is it allowed, but still never lets the label be real. I do appreciate South Korea's openness to metrosexuality, and normalizing the same amount of intimacy among men as it is between girls, "brotherly contact" as they call it. And yet... Actual love between men is "disghusting" to them(?). It's just funny where they draw the line of what's GAY and what's "normal". Maybe Holland called the song "Neverland" because the people in his land "never grew up" from their bigotry. Or maybe it's titled that coz it's a land that will "never" accept them... Either way it hurts.... It hurts me... That's where I finally understood the depth of his MV. BTW aside from the seriousness, love your reaction Babe :) ♡
