Hey y'all, couple things: 1. The overall goal in this video is to emphasize the fact that you should be equipping the drift tuning last. I wanted to go through every upgrade you have access to before equipping the drift tuning in order so it was easy to understand, but technically some of those upgrades can still be applied after the drift tuning and it won't affect anything (i.e. visual upgrades, suspension, wheels, etc.). I just don't want people to think that they have to spend $250K removing and re-applying the drift tuning just to change out a set of wheels or add a new bumper - doing power upgrades before the drift tuning is really the main focus. If this point is at all misleading or confusing, please let me know and I will re-publish the video with additional clarifications if it's necessary. 2. I feel bad about the timing of this video, especially given the fact that I kind of contradicted my points here in my original drift tutorial video. I'll admit that first video was kind of rushed, and I feel bad that I was more focused on getting that video out on the day the DLC dropped than doing comprehensive testing that would have been helpful to include within it. I will update the pinned comment on that video directing people to go to this one, and will also summarize some of the main points so that people aren't being misled. Hopefully this guide helped provide additional clarification on things, I just wish Rockstar themselves had made things a bit easier to understand initially. Regardless, thank you all so much for your support, and stay tuned for more content coming very soon!
You definitely rushed your rank video of the drift cars. I personally noticed significant differences between the G35 and the RX7, most notably the differences between how the RPM’s on the rx7 rev way higher at lower to medium speeds in addition to the handling being much more twitchy. These are pretty big differences between the G and RX7 because theyre both really good, but they can excel in different drifting scenarios respectively.
@@sweettea5166 I really tried to convey your last point at the beginning of that video - the fact that my rankings were based off of only very slight differences between each of the cars, and that really, it's all down to personal preference and overall skill level. While I admit it was slightly rushed and that I probably should not have ranked the FR36 as highly as I did, I believe the other rankings I made still stand in terms of highlighting the slight differences with each car. That video was simply my take on things based on my years' of experience drifting in the game and the type of smoother and slightly slower drifting I enjoy doing most. Appreciate your insight either way, I'll focus on more comprehensive testing in future videos.

I really wanted to get into the drift racing. However, for those who have played storymode and tried to escape L.S. finest, after they disable all your tyres! It's basically racing like that. Fact!
About the armor, on the futo gtx it actually added weight. 100% could feel the difference immediately. With no armor the car is too light and snappy. With the 20% armor the car actually felt balanced and smooth. Anyways awesome video I didn’t know about the performance upgrades before adding drift suspension!
My remus kept its low grips on after I put the drifting mod on and because when you put the mod on, you lose access to lowgrips. Does having unselected lowgrips on do anything like the unselected turbo/engine/transmission upgrades?

Applying low grip tires may not have any effect after applying drifting modification, the question is if it changes the look of the tire, so maybe you can apply it only for visual reasons and not for the grip which is anyway overridden by the drift mod. Another question is if it's correct to test cars performance on a drag test for speed, when we're talking about a drift car, where speed is much less important, in drift races you never reach high speeds anyway, that's not the point of the race, and to win a race not the fastest wins but those that make high scores in the drifts...
Low-grip tires are visually the same as the stock ones, so again, no difference there. As for the testing method, there's really no other good way to quantify the performance differences of a car - generally, performance upgrades in GTA 5 result in both increased power and top speed, so I think it's safe to say that the car has experienced a healthy increase in power if it's 3 seconds faster on a mile-long drag run. I also tested the power upgrades based on the way the car felt during a drift, and again, the power bump was noticeable. If you've got any other better/more applicable ways of measuring power, let me know.

Which is the best car for drift in this DLC? I Know there are 8 options which 1 of them is a new car, but i dont want to spend money in a bad drift car.
I still remember drifting being skill based, this update was a relief, but I still miss those days where we eould still shoot the rims just to get it stanced down and decrease the grip
I still prefer the old method slightly, and I had quite a lot of fun with it over the years. This is fun in the moment and lessens the skill gap which is nice though.
I wish the drift races didnt count against your stats. At least fo a month or something to get an understanding of doing it. I like my positive stats lol

That's true, I was debating whether or not to include this in the video but if the spoiler is too big then proximity will be a bit of an issue haha
Dude you really have become my go to channel, when it comes to info on cars in gta online, keep the good deep explanations and guides goin👍
Checkout Broughy1322 as well, his channel is the absolute best for car knowledge in gta 5
Hell yeah bro thank you so much!
My euros was fully upgraded before applying the drift tune but my rx7(r350? I dont remember the ingame name) i just bought the drift tune and no upgrades. I havent noticed much performance difference but i might go ahead and spend the money to upgrade first.
I noticed a big difference between a pre performance upgraded and a non pre upgraded Remus. Since then a pre upgrade all my drifters.
Yup, hopefully I emphasized this enough in the video!
Best video on this subject! Thank you bro
Anytime man, happy to help! Thanks for watching!
So far I'm really liking the futo for drifting over the others.
Yeah i've seen a few vids claiming they all feel the same but that's definitely not true. The Futo feels much looser and lighter and chains drifts a lot easier making those curves in the Vinewood hills area a lot of fun. Really brings in the Initial D vibes.
Euros is relly good too
Futo and the rx7 are my favorites but the Remus is the best for tighter areas in my opinion
The video I’ve been waiting for🙏🏽
A touch more side bite and these things would be awesome.
Agreed, would def help with these cars not wanting to slide all over the road haha
Will you do a build with the fathom fr36 of the infinity g35 in fast and furious 4?
Which is the best car for drift in this DLC? I Know there are 8 options which 1 of them is a new car, but i dont want to spend money in a bad drift car.
What are you looking for in a drift car. Fast, wide, slow
FR36, ZR350, or Euros in my opinion, but they really aren't all that different from each other.
After watching this I realized I just suck at driving my FR36. Gotta practice more
Here I go spending a few mill on the drift Tampa and another calico
Sorry about your wallet man, but the fun you'll have learning will definitely make up for it!
So lame how it’s only those cars. Just like a few years ago when only some cars had adjustable stance.
I wish the drift races didnt count against your stats. At least fo a month or something to get an understanding of doing it. I like my positive stats lol
that is funny cause I dominate these races and the stats are only going up xD
@@Jyrgen. that's great. I've never tried that stuff before. I just do regular racing.
So basically max everything out minus the stuff you said was useless, and then put on the upgrade and you’re good?
Exactly right!
this is the first channel I came to when I heard about the drift update
Hell yeah man, hopefully my content's been helpful!
The upgrading before the drift tune is now patched. Don’t waste your money 👍🏼🤘🏻
Only for drift races, on freeroam it still remains the same
I can’t stance my Remus with the drift turning for some reson
“On brand” 😂 so true
Sorry... Why do you have to customize the car visually before the upgrade?
You don't necessarily have to, was just trying to follow things in a succinct order - the overall goal was to show people that you should do the drift tuning last, but the visual stuff can go on whenever.
@@StevieWunderKid ok! Thank you 😁
Is it possible to drive normally with drift tuning and going at high speedswithout constantly spinning out?
Yeah definitely, drift tuning cars are fairly stable at speed because they're AWD.
Well looks like I have to take the drift tuning off my Futo GTX and put it back on after lol
W video
Great guide, however I would like to point out that wheels and visual upgrades do matter. It is fine tuning for making car predictable for you as a user.
How so? What do they change?
Handling in general, over-/understeer and general feel of the car@@StevieWunderKid
It 100% affects the weight at the back when you add weight placed upgrades like bigger bumpers, fenders and especially big spoilers, while drift…. You will ABSOLUTELY feel it in competition. This video is aimed at beginners … calling this an “ultimate” guide, respectfully isn’t my brother 🙏🏾 - you may wanna do another video on this for more experienced racers
Bro how do you have so much money
I'm too broke on gta for the fun
Damn I saved up and rebought the 370z and the s13 and just added the drift tune without upgrading😭 ima have to go grind cayo to fix my mistake but now Ik when I buy the futo and Supra
If I removed drift tuning to upgrade the engine and add turbo will it affect my other upgrades?
Nope, shouldn't affect anything else. The engine and turbo upgrades will then stay when the tuning is re-applied.
Yk what’s crazy I literally just searched for this and u posted it not too long ago … I knew something was wrong when my ae86 was faster then my 370z
