    Mason: "How'd you get out of Vorkuta? I never thought I'd see you alive"
    Reznov: "Nor I you my friend"
    I like how Reznov never answered Mason's question about escaping Vorkuta, because it's all in Mason's mind, and Mason wouldn't know. Very nice little detail there.

      I like the believe Reznov was still alive at this point, and head cannon an explanation for his survival as his captors (likely Dragovich) being impressed with his escape and leading the uprising that he was forced into service as a soviet agent, thus explaining why he was the soviet defector. I know this isn't what actually happened, but a guy can dream.

      @@physical_insanity dragovich wouldnt do such a thing. kravchenko neither. viktor was in vorkuta, just to rot or for experiments since the point, when his team and dimitri died to nova 6. besides, dragovich tried to kill him before, when he promised reznovs team reinforcements, but didnt sent them any, during ww2 or something. and mason even knew everything about that. so it can make sense, the way it is, i guess

      Bad enough civilians were killed by their other kind, a city burning from the destruction, and not enough time for a few to escape a large wave...I can't imagine what they do with the dead afterwards.

    • @queuedjar4578
      @queuedjar4578 2 года назад +1

      @@bluesnake1713 According to wikipedia, PAVN/NLF forces that were attacking the city did capture/execute groups of civilians in Hue, mostly men who refused to join the Tet Offensive uprising that was taking place all across the country. Mass graves were found in parts of the city and its outskirts, with some of the bodies evidently being buried alive. The building you start in this mission is meant to be the MACV HQ (actually just a two story motel turned into a makeshift office space, not a huge compound like in this game) in Hue City, which had some civilian workers inside who were likely intentional targets of North Vietnamese sympathizers.

    Fun fact for the people who are curious what the NVA Commander on the loudspeaker is saying, it's not Vietnamese, it's not words at all. It's just random nonsense that sounds like vietnamese

    • @shell1927
      @shell1927 2 месяца назад

      His first speech was probably like “Quân Đội Nhân Dân Việtnam”which translated like “the Vietnamese People's Army. Then you can hear “quit con quan bài qua tot phan boi ton quan which translates like “Quit the card game through the best part of the game” or smth like that (lol)
      But I couldn't make out anything further. Given the way russian sounds here, it's probably not surprising that there are really useless sounds in there. But there's something vietnamese language in those words.

      The most anachronistic guns in the game I think are the G11 and the Spectre. The G11 had absolutely nothing to do with Vietnam and was in development hell in Germany until the 90s, where it was briefly field tested here and there but never really adopted by anyone..
      The Spectre didn't even exist until 1980 and was only used as a SWAT weapon in western Europe.

    • @jeffreygardner8783
      @jeffreygardner8783 6 лет назад +4

      PTSD is a mental disorder that can develop after a person is exposed to a traumatic event, such as sexual assault, warfare, traffic collisions, or other threats on a person's life. Symptoms may include disturbing thoughts, feelings, or dreams related to the events, mental or physical distress to trauma-related cues, alterations in how a person thinks and feels, and an increase in the fight-or-flight response. These symptoms last for more than a month after the event. Young children are less likely to show distress, but instead may express their memories through play. A person with post traumatic stress disorder is at higher risk for suicide and international self-harm.
