- During our time in Brazil we are visiting Rio de Janeiro (much more later). Today we explore one of Rio de Janeiro's most popular places to visit called Leme Fort near Copacabana beach. We walk up to Leme Fort. We begin at Copacabana beach and walk along the beach. We see many locals and tourists. We stop to buy some street food (coconut water). We soak in the beautiful views of the ocean. We then start our short hike in the jungle up to Leme Fort. Up at the Fort, we learn about some of the history. At the top you get very scenic views of Rio de Janeiro and Copacabana. We see many monkeys playing around in the trees. We then walk to the bottom and as we leave Leme Fort we answer some of your questions about travel and brazil. In this video, we see what a touristic place in Rio is like during Covid 19 in Brasil.

Minas Gerais from Rio is nearrier than Bahia, and theres so much to see there, check the historical towns like Ouro Preto, Diamantina, Tiradentes and more

Balneário Camboriú e região , um dos lugares mais incríveis do Brasil , vale muito a pena passar alguns dias explorando a região , as praias são lindas, sem contar que é muito mais seguro do que Rio e São Paulo.

Como brasileiro, acho que não deveriam ir direto do Rio para a Bahia, recomendo que passem algum tempo em cidades históricas, em Minas Gerais há muitas dessas cidades, como a cidade de Ouro Preto.

I live in Rio. There is a beautiful place, Santa Tereza. In downtown you take a train (bonde), near Lapa, beside Petrobras building. A bucolic place. There are a lot of restaurant, art gallery and beautiful view.

If I had time to visit several places in Brazil, I would never stop going to these places: Porto de Galinhas and Fernando de Noronha in Pernambuco, Maragogi in Alagoas, Lençóis Maranhenses in Maranhão, Chapada Diamantina in Bahia, Natal beaches in Pipa and Ponta Negra, Jericoacoara in Ceará, Bonito in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso, in Tocantins would undoubtedly see Jalapão with its beautiful dunes and the incredible water fountains. I would visit the Serra Gaúcha in Rio Grande do Sul and the Iguaçu Falls in Paraná and take a boat trip there. Minas Gerais I would go to Ouro Preto, Tiradentes and Capitólio. Florianópolis is beautiful, but it is very similar to most of the beaches you would have chosen at that time, so I would only go if there was time and money left to continue the trip

Hey! I am from the south of Brazil, and yes, everything in Brasil is pretty far. I think if you have time it's a great idea to go north and then south, but you could also do the other way around. The north and south of Brasil are pretty different so I would recommend doing it all. In the south, don't miss Cataratas do Iguaçú in Foz, where Brasil meets Argentina and Paraguay, and Florianópolis which is a beautiful beach city. Brasil can be really dangerous because of drug trafficking, but I've lived here my whole life and never got mugged or anything like that, so each person has different stories. Take care! I wanted to suggest to you a couple of places near to Rio, in the state of Rio called Arraial do Cabo (unforgettable place) and Búzios (fab). You can go by bus it’s just a couple if hours and you can relax from the safety paranoia.
You will not forgive yourselves if you don’t visit these places. Also a lil more to the south, bordering São Paulo State is Parati.

Going to Bahia? I was born and raised there. Now I live in California since 1989. When in Bahia besides Salvador, go to Chapada Diamantina is one of the best places in Bahia with lakes, rivers and beautiful mountains. Look it up. These monkeys sucks the tree sap and eat fruits like mangos and jack fruit.

I can't believe you missed the 3 most popular neighbor cities of Rio: *1- Arraial do Cabo* , *2- Cabo Frio* and
, *3- Buzios* , they are very close to where you are located and it only costs R$52 (US$10) to go there via *Clickbus* or R$30 ($5.80) via *Blablacar* , those 3 cities are very pretty and have a different vibe than Rio.

Tem várias cidades que podem fazer um bate-volta (passeio de um ia) Paraty, Petrópolis, Itaipava, Penedo, Paquetá, Visconde de Mauá, Casimiro de Abreu, Nova Friburgo... Dai tem alguns passeios que os turistas nunca fazem, mas que os moradores vão muito, principalmente para quem mora na zona oeste... Dai a minha dica de bairro é para pegar o metro e da um pulo na Barra, dai podem ir na praia (Pepe e barrinha), parque chico mendes, museu do futebol, e na volta dar um pulo no Barra Shopping...
There are several cities that can make a round trip (one-way tour) Paraty, Petrópolis, Itaipava, Penedo, Paquetá, Visconde de Mauá, Casimiro de Abreu, Nova Friburgo ... There are some tours that tourists never do, but the residents go a lot, especially for those who live in the west ... My neighborhood tip is to take the subway and stop by Barra, then you can go to the beach (Pepe and Barrinha), Parque Chico Mendes, Museum of football, and on the way back to Barra Shopping ...
Alex, you MUST GO to Paraty. It's a beautiful colonial small city, on the beach, not far from Rio, mix of history + nature + beach. There you can take a trip through the islands in one of the boats that leaves from the pier, it's cheap and super cool. Paraty is on a bay, all the gold coming from Minas Gerais was going there to be taken to Portugal. The french pirates used to wait on the islands outside the bay to steal it. In the old town you can see free mason signs on the corners of the houses. It's definitely a place to go before you travel further to the countryside.
Paraty is effing divine.
Visit the cities: Arraial do Cabo, Cabo Frio and Búzios, these cities are just a few hours from Rio, there are the best beaches in the state of Rio de Janeiro
And if you went to explore other regions of Brazil, visit the state of Minas Gerais, there are historic cities like Ouro Preto.
Enjoy being in the Southeast and also visit the South of Brazil, visit cities like São José dos Campos (SP), Gramado, Canela, Florianópolis and Balneário Camboriú !!!
Another beautiful place is the beach of Sao Conrrado where you can take a hang gliding flight. enjoy

The food it's amazing and there is a beautiful place near to Salvador that's called Praia do Forte it's kinda of a village and it's amazing , hole different vibe, more calm ( It's no crowded as Rio and Salvador ) and it's just a paradise . You guys should Google it , you guys can take a bus and it would take about 40 min to get there ( and is really really cheap) and there's a lot to see like Projeto Tamar , Instituto Baleia Jubarte besides the village it self . It's the cutest thing ever I aways go there with my family and it's one of my favorite places here in Bahia . 🇧🇷
You can visit Ouro Preto by bus then fly to Salvador from Belo Horizonte. Ouro Preto is a famous historical city in Brazil.

Hello You Two! I have been watching actually since before you two met, then when you met in Montana (Boiling River - a favorite place I've been!) and throughout the pandemic in Peru (another personal sacred favorite) and back home to the USA. Glad you got to return home (and hopefully voted! lol!) and happy you are off again! When I traveled Brazil I found Natal, furthest point in Northeast Brazil and closest to Africa, a great little beach city with sand dunes nearby to "doonie buggey" as they called it, but the most AMAZING experiencing was taking the short flight to Fernando de Noronha, a small island that has limited visitors allowed. What a place! Saw literally hundreds of dolphins alongside our dive boat (50 meter visibility) and waves that were pure crystal clear....not typical on Atlantic Ocean side from my experience (being from California). It was a wee bit expensive but so worth it! Even locals referred to it as once in a lifetime experience! Protected areas for dolphin breeding etc. It's a World Heritage Site and the beaches are deserted and magnificent! We rented a motorcycle to get around and stayed in a simple hotel not unlike the AirBnbs of today. People were so friendly! Unforgettable! If you can....do! BTW Pimsleur Brazilian Portuguese was extremely valuable....if nothing else to speak with children! Divirta-se!
If you guys come to Amazonas State, specifically in Manaus you need try the typical fruit like Cupuaçu, tucumã, Inga and eat some local food like x-caboquinho, Tambaqui, buriti etc...

Before go to Bahia, I recommend visit the historical cities in the state of Minas Gerais, close from Rio. Some cities like São João Del Rey, Ouro Preto, Tiradentes etc.

Take a stroll to Petrópolis. Imperial city, close to Rio. It can even be a hit and return by bus. Good and cheap ride.
You can use the "Buser" and stop by Espírito Santo, stay in the capital Vitória or in Vila Velha near the beach. From Rio to here it is 7 am. Then you have to go to Convento da Penha, eat the capixaba pie and the moqueca capixaba, then you compare it with the moqueca from Bahia and see which one you prefer. You also can't miss going to Minas Gerais, in the capital Belo Horizonte, in Ouro Preto. Then you go to Bahia. 😆🖒

I would recomend, after flying to Salvador, visiting Lençóis Maranhenses (even if it's dry right now, it's beautiful) and Fortaleza. Then, Manaus (in the Amazon). Then flying south you can hit Brasilia, Ouro Preto (in Minas Gerais) and cities like Florianopólis and Porto Alegre (the southern most capital of Brazil).
amazing view guys....the monkeys are completely adapted to human visitors coming to see them. The combination of nature and and sea divided by the mountains makes Rio so unique place for visiting....... brazil has too much to be seen yet.... i hope you guys have a nice stay in Brazil!!! Enjoy!!...;)
I suggest that you spend first in BH to try the Minas Gerais cuisine that is the best in Brazil, then you will visit the Northeast Salvador, Fortaleza, Olinda and Lençóis Maranhenses
You guys need to visit Arraial do Cabo is a beach place just 3:00 hrs from Rio by bus north region state of Rio de Janeiro. also angra dos reis south region of the state of Rio. or a neighbour state near RIO call Espirito santo is a very nice place vitoria, vila velha e guarapari. you guys will love it. Also way cheap than Rio.

@@cabral2661 Não tem o que aceitar. A beleza do Brasil está, entre outras coisas, na diversidade de lugares interessantes. O Rio é de fato muito bonito, porém eles já estão no Rio. Eles pediram sugestões de outros lugares no Brasil.

Minas Gerais is beautiful: mountains, waterfalls, caves, historical cities, friendly people and one of the best cuisines in Brazil. Minas is located between Rio and Bahia. We are in partial lookdown and cities have more security. Where to go: BH (state's capital), Ouro Preto, Tiradentes, Capitólio, Serra do Cipó and Inhotim (the largest open air contemporany museum in the world)
Don't miss Iguassu Falls. In Paraná state. To the south of Rio.
