You know, it's amazing to me that Rebecca has this really interesting talent of perspective. She approaches things like this with a perspective you normally wouldn't think of, but once it's there, you realize it really is a better solution. It's this kind of approach that just works so well with how she writes characters and songs and how she portrays these stories. Even more astounding is her ability to create and make something both simple and complex simultaneously. She can make such a simple tune complex, and can make such a complex topic simple. I mean, this song pretty much discusses a topic of change, growth, and loss, and how to be aware and deal with those things, while being presented in such a simple fashion using basic words and metaphors, such as an object being left outside and aging with the elements, something you both know and relate to. She's just got such a way with words. Her voice is also just... so tranquil and relaxed, like she's never needed to use a louder tone to get someone's attention. It's very smooth and soft, and gives this such a nice lullaby feel that's hard to pull off.

It’s crazy to think these silly Cartoon Network shows.. Adventure Time, Steven Universe and all of those with that style all were so light hearted and cute at first and supposed to be about adventures and fun and now it’s so impactful and they mean so much to my generation (I’m 17). Like I tear up hearing this song

This makes me happy, I remember when I was about 9 years ago, I would listen to this on repeat. My mom and step dad bought me this adventure time book and I would read it with my mom. We also lived right next to my school and the school has a bridge there, where my cousins would play with me during the summer. That was also when I started to find out that I was bisexual. My mother passed away a year ago, and listening to this, watching this, brings back so much. Thank you for making this. Also sorry if I seem really depressed haha
