I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). Coelacanth is pronounced See-Luh-Canth. They live super deep in the ocean. Highlight of my day is seeing a new Dredge episode. I bet you’d find them in Abyssal fishing spots.

They are also EXTREMELY old. They were first discovered as fossils and were believed to be extinct for roughly a century before a living specimen was found.

I believe you can sell the ship parts like old rods and engines but not all of them and you sometimes have to switch to the cargo tab while in the shipyard shop.

Plenty of people have said how to pronounce coelacanth, but fun fact, they were thought to be extinct for the last 65 million years. It was thought that they died in the great dinosaur extinction until they fished one up in the 90s. That's why they're described as primordial -- they're ancient af.
I love how no villagers in the game have a name- its all: travelling merchant, [village name] resident, mayor, etc. This game is just like: your here to fish and see monsters, don't worry about the names!!! lmao
Man the monster fish may be scary... but at least its polite!! As soon as Odd docked it turned away, a gentleman monster fish lol
Love the exploration aspects of this -- the cryptic notes, the tracking down where stories lead you, the rollercoaster of "what's that over there" vs "oh crap runawayrunawayrunaway." Hope they keep expanding this!

Hey Chris, got a crazy idea, STOP RUNNING INTO SHITE. Just a thought, might help, might not, take it or leave it.
Some of the things just make me cringe because I've played this so long. So much inefficiency with a first blind playthrough. And its delightfully enraging.
This’ll be my last video of this series for now, as you made me curious in part 1 and made me order the game in part 2. Soooo thank you and I’ll finish the rest of your playthrough after I finished the game.

I really laughed when you pointed out that the new merchant never sleeps, which is actually true for everybody else but the main character. I bet they've been in this world for so long that they are too far gone by now, so none of the crazyness going around affects them. 🤣

Definitely don't sleep on the crab pots. They make a ton of money basically for nothing.

I clicked this so fast my finger traveled back in time.
Chris I noticed when you completely stop the time stops. For now it’s great to use to plan out the fastest course of action but I’m sure there are other benefits to come along
You can't stack rods and nets. You can't sell the peculiar engine but can sell all the items you have bought as well as dredged items (although you only do that after you have fully upgraded your ships).
The one eyed serpent in the Gale Cliffs is a real pain and will attack in both day light and night time and will pursue you into the bay until you outrun it or dock. Really annoying but you can out run it with better engines. Crab pots at Gale Cliffs placed around the travelling salesperson is a nice side line business.
If you use Haste it will cause stress along with potential damage to your boat. Have to say you have really done well managing Haste by the way.

You can turn your engines sideways and have three with your current set up.

It's a good thing there's no fuel use mechanic in this game, he probably burns more fuel than an Aircraft Carrier riding the nitrous like he does. ;)
Fun fact, US Navy aircraft carriers don’t refuel. They’re nuclear powered and only enter a “refuel” period once every 20-25 years to basically re-mod the reactors. The planes and helicopters definitely need fuel, though!

Non spoiler game tip. Sailing and fishing is great with a controller, try it Chris. Inventory management and spyglass suck on it, I switched to mouse control for that. Great to see You playing this. Cheers!

You should start researching the jet drive engine and install all engine slot with those cause they hive the max speed until the second last engine

From what I have seen, you explore and make sure you have places to sleep, an if you get things from shipwrecks, why the rush to buy things? In this video he found a pole and even an engine to use.

I have seen many people play this, and I'm disappointed, they don't explore half the equipment or half of the different types of fish, so many rush through the game to the end and to me that takes away from some of the beauty of the game.

What annoys me a tiny bit is that you constantly jump to conclusions. The nets are immediately pots. The resident talks about a travelling merchant - "oh, that's where we came from". You can't sell a cthulic part, "I guess it doesn't work", while hovering over the "sell" information of the other, normal part. Slow down. Explore the game a bit more. You're standing in your own way.
