Great to see you in Scotland, I spent many a year with my dad fishing all over, sadly he died 10 yrs ago with alzheimer's. He originally came from Devon and left when he was only 18 to Scotland, we use to laugh at his Scottish/Devon accent. I wish he was here now to watch your video. After he passed away I scattered his ashe in Loch Awe where he tried but never succeeded in catching a Ferrox trout. Your doing this for a great charity, I really hope you enjoy my back garden "Bonnie Scotland "🏴🏴🏴
Loch oich is a belter for pike and ferox trout , my stepdad and I had our last camping trip there before he died . We caught a 26lb pike and a 5.5lb ferox from the shore with rapalas and my stepdad fell in the loch drunk as he took a wizz at night ..twice !... hope your having a blast camping in the big glen in the sky Ramsey ! You were the best dad a son could wish for .. Thanks TA outdoors for bringing back good memories
Hi mate, great memories with your step dad, he sounded a cracking person. Building memories is a priority of mine with my sons. All the best mate. Ant 👍
A great video, I’ve been watching a lot of Simon, a Bloke in the Woods YT Channel, doing this too? I like his Customised Canoe, with him being able to set up Sail. I’m wondering why none of the Canoes, even his? Aren’t also Customised to become Shelters in their own right? With maybe one of those tiny Cubit Stove’s or a Bio-Lite Stove, to also charge your USB Powered Devices as well as Cooking and Heat, with maybe a Quick Release Fixture for it, so it can’t move any way? Couldn’t a Foldable Prop Stand be Set up, on both ends of the Canoe, to support a Line? To then have an All Weather Tarp or Mosquito Net, be thrown over it? With some hooks or Velcro to seal it to the sides of the Canoe? Just a couple of ideas for any future video, for another Temp Shelter?
As a Lock Keeper on the Caledonian Canal I can tell you the winds on Loch Lochy can change dramatically every 10 minutes. Great video of my office. Thanks for making it.
The Tinder you used is Lichen which shows how clean the air is. It's a relationship with an algae & fungi. For me, I view it as gold. Seeing you grow from a handful of viewers to nearly 2 million subscribers is amazing. Production values are impressive here. Yes, very worthy of BBC.
Mike... Thank you for this episode covering the 5 tremendous days of your journey. Also for your contribution to promote the battle against Alzheimer & Dementia. Want to add how wonderful your visuals are, with scenes along the trip, including beautiful drone footage. The inspiring Sound Design. Your on camera comments, including your well written voice overs. You gave us a wonderful feeling of all your experiences through out the excursion. My Sincere Thanks!
I've subscribed to the other RUclips channels, already a regular at "Simon, a bloke in the woods.", whom posted Day 1 already, and was also a very nice piece. Glad he was able to use his sail. And that Mike commented on it enviously. But looking forward to see what the others have contributed. Thank you.
Fantastic achievement for you all. Have followed Simon bloke in the woods for a while and will now be following you and all your fellow adventurers. Thank you all for your magnificent achievements in raising so much for the Alzheimer's society. I lost my mum to the disease 8 weeks ago. Still very raw and it has been very emotional watching you all. Again, thank you. You are all inspirational.
Hi Susan, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your mum and not so long ago either. Nobody can describe the pain we go through each day with this dreadful disease in the family, my heart goes out to you and your family. Thank you so much for your support in watching us all and I do hope it brings you some kind of release. All our love, Ant & Charlie
Watched this in a crowded tube to work in London with everyone masked up and claustrophobia setting in. This film was the perfect antidote and gave me hope one day to escape to the outdoors for good. Thank you all very much. Superb.
My mom had Alzheimer's, she passed in 2018. Thank you to all of you for participating in this gorgeous journey and representing a cause that is dear to my heart. I came across this video quite by accident, I am thrilled I did. All of you have a new subscriber! Mike you have the most beautiful, soothing voice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ♡
Hello Hellsbelle, I’m so very sorry to hear about you mum, nothing can describe the pain you must be going though. I do really hope you find that peace you deserve but if your like me you probably won’t. Thank you so very much to for supporting the channels and also the charity. All the best, Ant 👍
Such a great adventure. You did a fine editing job of compacting the whole journey into 50 minutes. You did a fine job of 'bringing the other blokes into the picture' as well.
From the very beginning I could tell yours would be more like a documentary. Excellent work Mike! I've seen all the other videos released so far, but never for one moment felt like I didn't want to watch yours too! Each one was enjoyable as the next! In fact, I'll probably watch them all again. How wonderful that you all took us along with you on this epic adventure! Thank you for sharing!
I pray one day ill be in a better position to donate what I can to you. With all this craziness going on in the world your videos are therapy. Many blessings from Texas.
Many thanks for posting, brought back a lot of memories as I worked in Inverness and the Highlands for a couple of years, contracting for the NHS, and spent most of my time flirting between Inverness and Fort William, driving next to the canal and the lochs (48:00 - rented a room in the house on the right for a while!) Many thanks for posting, and well done on your trip, and the charitable work that you have all done for a very very worthwhile cause. All the best. Nick
In my opinion one of your best videos on the channel… captures the Scottish lochs/wilderness with wild camping and water activity on every part of the intensity spectrum. Well done Mike 💪💪
Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our armchair adventure, and your video and editing was wonderful! Have a bit of Scottish blood, but never dreamed it was so lovely... thank you! I will be donating...
Mate, that was excellent! Got goose bumps watching the ending haha. Was a genuine pleasure paddling with you and the rest of the lads Mike, look forward to our next one, atvb, Matt 👍🏻💯🙌🏻👏
Simply AMAZING Sir!!! About a year ago, we started watching bushcraft videos as my wife is part Scandinavian, and interested in all things Viking. Came across your videos building all your shelters with no modern tools with the help of your Dad and friends. Been hooked ever since and now thoroughly enjoy all the channels like yours, and happy to see how you have become so successful!!! Congrats Mike!!! Much luck in all your endeavors
That improv tarp catamaran was HOONING along !! What an lovely video, that was a rare pleasure to watch, thank you for helping such a good cause👍 Music was absolutely PERFECT ....
Wow I am speechless. It was so fun to watch your adventure along with all the beautiful scenes. Thanks for doing this for charity. My mom has been battling Alzheimers for almost two years. Thanks for sharing this amazing video.
I just wanted to say thank y’all for doing this for old timers disease and dementia. My father has type 2 dementia and it has gotten the best of him. Also, great clips of the shore line when you stopped and camped.
When I was young my family did a drive around Scotland. They took in lots of fun things, including a toured boat trip around Loch Ness and of course the MONSTER was the big deal. Some 40 or 50 years later now, at my better thinking age, I know that the Viking era Norse ship wrights made boats on the shores of Loch Ness. Would have been cool as heck to see a Dragon Boat rise from the water :)
There was the bare bones of another ship. Much older and worn almost at the end...on Loch Ness or the river. Unless it was a support wall to keep the bank from washing away.
To be fair Mike I hadn't watched to many of your videos. This film though justifies your near 2 million subs. Thoroughly enjoyed this journey. Great film. Can't wait now to catch up with your back catalogue. Well done everyone for raising so much money for a great cause.👍
Lol Casino, we all started our fires on separate wood stoves but then we had one fire for us to sit round after which was taken in turns to start 👍 cheers mate, Ant
Great video Mike 👍🎣🤞. Excellent crew of like minded people you have, & a Excellent course you are raising money for 🙏🙏🙏🙏. God bless you all 🥰🥰. I watchd Simon bloke in the Woods video yesterday. Great to see different content and views of the adventure 👌. As my heart goes out to ALL OF YOUS 🙏🙏
I'm slowly working my way through everyone's videos of the trip. My Friday night binging session. You're number four and I love your rainbow shot, nice and vibrant. I also am enjoying your narration and look forward to watching more of your vidoes.
Mike, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Really enjoying the canoe trip video. I watch them all. I enjoy the relaxation of most of your videos, and certainly the information. Above all, I’m so inspired and want to do exactly what you’re doing. I think my British ancestors would be proud of you. Greetings from Virginia, USA. Another great video, thank you.

Scotland is such a beautiful country, I've done a few trips on a motorbike through Scotland a couple years back, looks like you really made the most of your trip, amazing video
Well done documentary. I like this style of combining different subjects, nice filming, editing, voice-overs, small tips, product demos. Compliments. Also, wow, what a great country.
Excellent narrative of a magnificent undertaking by all participants who have an appreciation of the 'Great Outdoors'. A well worthy cause benefits by your achievement. Hats off to all !!! 🌈👏👍🚣♀️
A wonderful video. I love Scotland, I go every summer to amazing places. As you said Lord of the Rings I thought about a place one of my best friends took me to, it was like the Emerald Forest and it was magical. Scotland always brings surprises, magic and unexpected weather. Glad you had a great time.
I do want to go canoeing now. That last lock was so clear and if the surface is like glass I like to look into the water to see fish, plants, patterns, deep depths so beautiful.
Just by simply watching this i feel better. And for sure you are one of the channels that inspired me to go outdoors much much more. Learned a few things along the line. Gratefull to the skies. Cheers mate.
A beautiful environment, lovely scenery, magnificient waterways. A deserved acknowledgement that your cause is very generous indeed, Hope all will go well with the goal & travel safely. Enjoyed the Video.
Ive been following the adventures on various channels, but I want to say thank you for a really informative and generous review of the trip, giving a shout out to all your companions.
I already follow Richard Outdoors, Simon, A Bloke in The Woods and Ant, Survive the Night and it's great how all of you have captured the trip in such different ways and with such different approaches. All highly enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed how you managed to get it all into one brilliantly edited and produced show. The footage, scenery and production quality are all of the very best I've seen on RUclips and the 50min flew by. Well done and I hope this video gets you to even bigger and better things as well as giving you great memories and us a very enjoyable video to watch 👌
Epic footage! It’s just awsome to see the different aproache all the guys have with editing footage of this trip. What great storytelling and a nice tempo you did on this one. Cheers!
What a great watch, just got back from the highlands myself! Unbelievable place to visit. Loch Ness is so magical, the water is so dark it looks like oil!
