I had it bad a different way , went you pushed it up and down the gas can on the shock went side to side, I think it needed new rubber bushes or something

its better to Rebuild the shock or get a new one since its highly dangerous to ride with a bad shock otherwise your bike will not be able to absorb it well enough which results for cracks and damages in your bike frame or other components.

Lots variables usually performance noise and comp tests help leak down test when rebuilding eliminates air leaks too many rebuild two strokes then have problems with jetting not understanding they have leaks everywhere when compression drops beyond certain setting it determines ring wear piston wear cylinder wear etc etc
