UWE I just found your site. I have an Adler 167, single needle model. It started bending the needle, and a thread was broken in the bobbin case. I have watched your video a few times on my desk top computer. My machine is in the back shop. So, I am going to try to fix the suspected problem, (thread jammed under the bobbin case). I will report my success on solving the bent needle problem. Thank you for showing us beginners how to fix a problem. Where I live, there are no repair shops anymore for these industrial sewing machines.
Uwe, I absolutely enjoy watching your videos, even for machines I don't have your explanations usually get me going in the correct direction when troubleshooting. I have an adler 167-372 (single needle) and have been very slowly trying to translate the german service manual to english and trying to rely on grainy b/w pictures to assist. This video helped me immensely as there was thread lodged in the groove of the hook area and I was not confident in removing this to get at it...it was a successful operation, thank you very much!
Perfect explanation and, as always, absolutely perfect filming, impecably focused and without any possible doubt. My machine is a PFAFF 1245, but it's always good to know how other machines perform 👍👍👍 Thank you very much as always for your advices 👏👏👏
One thing I would like to add is from experience make sure that the central screw doesn't have any burr protruding upwards it will break the thread and the screws should be tapped with a small hammer using a small screw driver . If the hook gib becomes loose the machine will break
Hello Uwe. Thanks for the great video"s. I"m fairly new to sewing as a hobby and am practicing to eventually reupholster my boat among other projects. I have a older adler 167 which sews beautifully in fwd but in rev sews as if I don"t have enough top tension and progressively adding tension doesn't help. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Fwd
Ein sehr gutes und informatives Video. Vielen Dank dafür. Wäre es evtl. möglich eine Videoanleitung über den Tausch des Auslösewinkels (für die Oberfadenspannung) bei der Adler 167 zu machen?
Hi Uwe, thanks for the video! I recently bought an Adler 67-72L and we are trying to find out which crochet model uses. Do yiu have any idea or information where can I buy it? I'm from Argentina
Do you mean which Needle type? The Adler 67-72L uses “System 134” needles. These needles are still in production and generally easy to find online. Just search Google for “System 134 needle” to see buying options in your local area or from international sellers. For sewing leather, you want a needle with a knife edge tip that cuts the leather, look for “System 134 LR”. “Groz Beckert” and “Schmetz” are good brands of needles.
@@UweXY yeaps, actually mi father wants to use it for carpets and fabrics. But the crochet is missing. This accesorie www.amazon.com/-/es/bobina-178-para-durkopp-167-clase-m%C3%A1quinas/dp/B06WD8JCNB
You can buy a hook directly from Durkopp Adler or a local distributor. They show the hook for your machine (part number 0068 150814) on page 7 of this product catalog: www.duerkopp-adler.com/export/sites/duerkoppadler/commons/download/technology_praxis/hook_catalogue_2020.pdf They may also have the thread tension assembly available.

Also useful advice for a Durkopp Adler 268 if thread causes the hook to cease. The hook, bobbin and bobbin case look identical. Thanks
