If I remember correctly, there was a codex that told about a mechanized unit that attacked the big portal in germany that was powered by a giant heart in a reactor. They managed to fight their way into the reactor building but got overrun in the end.

If any of the demons were passively just faster than light--removing the other concerns about what happens you take a physical body and move it at that speed--you would not be able to even see them in any sort of clarity at all, because they would be moving faster than the light that would be reflecting off of them to hit your eye. At most, the demon would just be some non-descript blob of motion that you could barely process as being in your area, even when they were standing still because they probably can't actually stand truly still like a statue.

Well, DOOM universe has magic, I'm pretty sure the Xeelee Sequence is supposed to be a realistic portrayal of what technology can become. In DOOM they travel between dimensions and destroy universes...

Except we have no idea how that happened and we have no idea if he used a crucible or not. There are many Crucibles and they originate in Hell. It’s very possible he used one. Also the whole reason Doomguy went to get the Crucible in Eternal was specifically so he could kill Icon. There’s no indication that Doomguy could have killed him without it.
Its an inconsistency, when we get the hilt we snap off the blade, why do that unless the blade is what's making sure the titan stays dead. The same thing happens with the icon so either he had crucible that he used to finish off the champion or he just beat the demon to the point his soul left

Great video, I loved this one. Something alot of people dont bring up however is that when the demons used all their magic to entomb the slayer in the cursed sarcophagus, they only sealed him away for a reason. Its because they couldnt kill him. So that does kind of prove that the slayer is unkillable by the demons, as why would they only seal him away and risk him getting released again if they could actually kill him instead? Him getting damaged on mars could easily be explained as him being significantly weaker during the events of 2016, due to being sealed away for billions of years. Another thing is that the Slayer CAN kill titans. The Champion's corpse was shown in the level Titan's Realm in Doom 2016, and it has no crucible embedded within its body anywhere.
There’s a difference between not being able to kill him and being incapable of damaging him. One means he’s to skilled and badass the other means he’s to durable. Him bleeding on Mars proves he’s not to durable.
Obviously he can't die, he's the concept of will, or at least human will, so as long as there are beings (or least humans) that feel will, I doubt he can die.

In the speed department, it can be solved by saying that the low tier demons are not even close to match doomguy and that his blood found in mars was not caused by them but instead by the high tier demons, like some of the heavies and super heavies, which are far faster than the fodder

Oh and as cool as something like destiny sounds cool as far as I'm aware the demons in doom don't have access to paracausal weapons so they might be able to kill a guardian but they wouldn't be able to stop the ghost from reviving a guardian and the guardians do have weapons and ability's to kill the demons so the demons best bet is to hope a guardian gets corrupted and joins there side

you got many verses that can beat the Demons of Doom, MGQP where Outerversal is basically just normal for any companion, your average chaos monster in that world can erase entire universes passively in a matter of minutes if not hours even if they stand still because they flood thousands of universes in Chaos and this is part one of that game, once we get parts 2 and a collab scenario Outer is the tier everyone you recruit gets to, in Doom, like Icon of Sin would have needed quite a lot of time to break down the universe, apart from Davoth everyone caps at Universal, so anyone not named Davoth in terms of demons they get their asses spanked very early in the verse i just mentioned, that verse is just one example but we got so so many examples of so many verses that can do that. immeasurable speed in power scaling lingo means faster than linear time, this term was made by power scalers to justify how someone moves faster than time itself.

Immeasurable speed is being able to travel through time with sheer speed alone. Irrelevant speed is being completely beyond the speed formula, or basically being beyond time. Doom Guy after the divinity machine was indestructible. Only god like beings, with the divine spark, could even hurt him. That is stated in lore. The audio recording does say though that there was other stuff in that blood sample, so it is kind of an inconsistency in the lore itself. Because lore wise Doom Slayer just effed up Davoth, the god of the doom universe and was just fine physically. He did pass out, though, so I don't know what happened there.

There was a lore detail that imps showed up as a blur to the human eyes somewhere in base eternal. I forget where the codex entry is tho. So for imps (which is the second weakest demon), so that should hopefully help with the speed feats

Alex Mercer or James Heller would see the demon horde as a huge source of biomass. Even if argent energy burns so hot running through demon veins, their biomass would help Alex and james cope with it. They move at insane speeds, possess strength and durability that only gets higher and higher the more biomass they consume, plus a healing factor that can regenerate Mercer from a puddle of blood or from the body of a crow infected. After consuming enough imps, possessed, pinkies (basically the demons with lower argent heat in the body) they’d both become resistant to argent, possibly even begin to channel it by replicating the demon biology through shapeshifting. They’d be tearing through hell knights with critical mass abilities now fueled by demonic biomass. James and Alex definitely would become more demonic in features and powers, however, though it’a strongly possible james heller has a soul that can be corrupted, Alex Mercer has no soul, he’s just a virus that takes on Alex’s identity, meaning the evil souls have nothing to inhabit once their demon meat suit gets devoured!

Argent Energy is literally made of souls. A ghost is a soul without a body. Demons would likely slap the Destiny universe. Only beings like Oryx would be able to combat someone like Davoth, and I still think Davoth would slap.
I’d love to see the devils of the Nine Hells versus the demons of doom. They’re already Blood War veterans with experience fighting demons, I wanna see how they fare.
Infinite speed is going through an infinite space in a amount of time, example being if a characters universe is said to be infinite but they’re able to go from one end to the other in like 10 minutes it would be deemed infinite speed. Immeasurable speed means there’s no time frame that matters or can be calculated of a character going from point A to point B. Example is something like the flash going through time, Superman moving so fast he breaks the bonds of infinity, or Sonic running through the multiverse.
That’s horse shit. If they arrived there in any amount of time it meant it wasn’t infinite, if they got there instantly it was teleportation, and if they got there before teleportation it was time travel. You can’t remove distance or time from the speed equation if you do it isn’t speed anymore but something else. As for moving through time in the films Flash is capable of going through time via going faster than light. That’s not infinite. In fact many fictions have different speed requirements for traveling through time. Scalers assume infinite when the series doesn’t tell you what that speed is. Lack of evidence isn’t evidence.

Yes, if it was instant then it is considered teleportation or if before, time travel, however if the method of which they do it is through flight and/or running it is considered being infinite speed or immeasurable. It’s like when the flash beat that alien that can instantly teleport in a race, yes you can say he just time traveled but it was still accomplished by running so it would be considered a speed feat. If someone was able to be in a million places at once you can say they’re just cloning themselves BUT if it’s done by them just running we’ll count it as immeasurable. That’s not true. There’s a whole section of the game where Doomguy has to go get the Crucible from the Sentinel Homeworld specifically because he needs it to kill Icon. It’s stated by Hugo and Samuel Hayden to be the only way to kill them and even then only as long as it stays in their body.

If Hugo did state it, then it's likely with a further context of him saying that it's the only way for other people to kill a Titan. Not by that wording, but you get what I mean. Titans having granted True Immortality doesn't make any relative sense because it would mean that Davoth could grant his people that immortality. The Jekkadians to be more specific. In which... I think people get confused with him not being able to be damaged because it has been stated that without his armor, he was still in hell beating the shit out of demons, but it’s like Kratos. He has a healing factor. Power scaling is such a tricky thing to balance. I'm working on a setting that works on DBZ logic. So you've got characters who are naturally powerful and well above superhuman but regular earth humans can suplex a tank and fly if they train the right way. How? I'm working on it, alright.
Actually, the blood samples were from before Doom Eternal and 2016 (most likely), because that recording can be found in Arc Tower, which is before Mars Core.
We do know that normal weapons can and do kill demons as the earlier doom games are canon and those weapons dont have or use argent energy. Sure they are different timelines and universes but its the same demons. So doing power scaling in any way is almost impossible
1: Doomguy has ALWAYS been able to empower his weapons, he is a primeval, and hinted at being something even more(meaning that even without the divinity machine, it is possible that Doomguy was at a level above Davoth) 2: that was BEFORE Argent Energy was discovered, meaning demons were MUCH weaker. because Khan Maykr is the one who decided to add the two energies together in the first place
While he Does get Hurt in the Mars base Event, he is an absolute immortal and invincible being in Doom Eternal, Doomguy was more vulnerable in 2016 only because the Praetor suit was pretty much a more primitive version of the new fully built Eternal Suit (plus the DOOM MUSCLES BABY). They also called Doomguy a Subject, which probably flew over your head but they drew some blood from Doomguy when he was probably in his sarcophagus or shortly after opening it with Samuel's Help. That in itself changes all what you just said basically, if Argent really could Harm Doom Slayer, it means the Dark Lord had a morbid chance of winning, which makes 0 sense considering the Codex says how omnipotent and omnipresent Doomguy is in Eternal.
Your argument doesn’t hold water. For one if the humans could draw blood that means the demons could damage him considering they are far more powerful. 2 it says in the codex that “Attempts to wake the man were fruitless - and to harm him even more so - as a protective Argent barrier around the body kept him safe from harm in permanent stasis.” It makes it clear they couldn’t affect him one way or the other. How could they draw blood if they couldn’t harm him in any way? No he could have only been made to bleed after being revived from stasis which could only be done be the demons.
Good video, would love to see your option on how the devil may cry universe would do. Personally I think they're very comparable in terms of power and characters like dante have a chance at even beating doomguy.

Overall amazing video but I gotta give some criticism. The statement given by Dr. Elena about how they got a sample of the Slayer's blood is indeed an anti-feat, but I feel like you can't just use that anti-feat to negate his overall feat that is more consistent than Dr. Elena's claim. I mean his power and state of existence alone is equal, if not, superior than Davoth, the literal creator of the entire Doom multiverse. I mean you mentioned that anti-feat, but didn't mention how the Slayer struggled on breaking the chains that chained him in the sarcophagus, during the part where you're talking about how the Slayer broke the chains that chained the Titans. I'm not looking for arguments, just a civil discussion if we can but it just doesn't make sense how you brought the anti-feat to negate his overall durability and how durable he is based on the feats that we see. I mean you also brought up the fact that the Slayer beat the Champion, a Demon vastly stronger than any of the Demons we faced in 2016. Plus, he beats the Champion, at least presumably< before he was amped by the Davoth"s Power Edit: Also, at 7:21 , it's not the fanbase that gave the Champion it's name, it's the game itself.
You've done a couple Shooter universes vs the demons, but shooters are in general high tech, low magic, and the demons are high tech, high magic. How would they compare to other, similar weight class universes? How would the demons compare to any Final Fantasy universe, for example? They have swords that can kill anything, enough people that can summon LITERAL GODS to fight for them that they have an entire class built around it, random monsters just roaming around that are at least city-level threat, and bosses that are universe-levels consistently. Not to mention they have plenty of monsters that have mental effects (like the corruption) and ways to counter them with either spells or items. They literally have an item that cures death, and it's not even that rare. Most of the demons would just be the equivalent of random world encounters, with the upper end being late game bosses. Not much would actually change for the inhabitants I think.

I tried finding the codex stating that the UAC was unable to kill a baron and a hell knight but it never says that. This isn't a gotcha I just want to find those codex you're talking about.
It’s in DOOM 2016 not Eternal. They talk about their trips to Hell and state to just avoid the Baron’s all together because they can’t take them down. Hugo Martin mentioned in an interview that Earth was incapable of taking down a single Titan during the invasion.
@@rougarabid I wasn't talking about the titans. I looked at the Baron's codex and it doesn't mention them trying to avoid it. It just says how they couldn't be captured. But capturing is a lot different from killing, it's easier to kill than it is to capture. Which specific codex in 2016 states them trying to avoid them, because I can't find it.

If any of the demons were passively just faster than light--removing the other concerns about what happens you take a physical body and move it at that speed--you would not be able to even see them in any sort of clarity at all, because they would be moving faster than the light that would be reflecting off of them to hit your eye. At most, the demon would just be some non-descript blob of motion that you could barely process as being in your area, even when they were standing still because they probably can't actually stand truly still like a statue.

That's false, we see Doomguy perma-killing the Champion TITAN. And remember, he did it while in Hell without his Crucible. So no, Doomguy CAN permanently kill Titans. With or without his Crucible Sword.
Except we have no idea how that happened and we have no idea if he used a crucible or not. There are many Crucibles and they originate in Hell. It’s very possible he used one. Also the whole reason Doomguy went to get the Crucible in Eternal was specifically so he could kill Icon. There’s no indication that Doomguy could have killed him without it.
Its an inconsistency, when we get the hilt we snap off the blade, why do that unless the blade is what's making sure the titan stays dead. The same thing happens with the icon so either he had crucible that he used to finish off the champion or he just beat the demon to the point his soul left

Great video, I loved this one. Something alot of people dont bring up however is that when the demons used all their magic to entomb the slayer in the cursed sarcophagus, they only sealed him away for a reason. Its because they couldnt kill him. So that does kind of prove that the slayer is unkillable by the demons, as why would they only seal him away and risk him getting released again if they could actually kill him instead? Him getting damaged on mars could easily be explained as him being significantly weaker during the events of 2016, due to being sealed away for billions of years. Another thing is that the Slayer CAN kill titans. The Champion's corpse was shown in the level Titan's Realm in Doom 2016, and it has no crucible embedded within its body anywhere.
There’s a difference between not being able to kill him and being incapable of damaging him. One means he’s to skilled and badass the other means he’s to durable. Him bleeding on Mars proves he’s not to durable.
Obviously he can't die, he's the concept of will, or at least human will, so as long as there are beings (or least humans) that feel will, I doubt he can die.

In the speed department, it can be solved by saying that the low tier demons are not even close to match doomguy and that his blood found in mars was not caused by them but instead by the high tier demons, like some of the heavies and super heavies, which are far faster than the fodder

I'm looking forward to who you will have them go up against there are alot of universes that would be a good match-up to the demons like like Final Fantasy 7 since the materia system has ways to counter act alot of how the demons fight but sepheroth is kinda broken so even the higher demons would probably fall. Oh and as cool as something like destiny sounds cool as far as I'm aware the demons in doom don't have access to paracausal weapons so they might be able to kill a guardian but they wouldn't be able to stop the ghost from reviving a guardian and the guardians do have weapons and ability's to kill the demons so the demons best bet is to hope a guardian gets corrupted and joins there side

you got many verses that can beat the Demons of Doom, MGQP where Outerversal is basically just normal for any companion, your average chaos monster in that world can erase entire universes passively in a matter of minutes if not hours even if they stand still because they flood thousands of universes in Chaos and this is part one of that game, once we get parts 2 and a collab scenario Outer is the tier everyone you recruit gets to, in Doom, like Icon of Sin would have needed quite a lot of time to break down the universe, apart from Davoth everyone caps at Universal, so anyone not named Davoth in terms of demons they get their asses spanked very early in the verse i just mentioned, that verse is just one example but we got so so many examples of so many verses that can do that.

I can tell you one person who can solo them, dante due to the insane hax, regeneration and being able to destroy red soul which is a higher dimensional structure, and some how breaking the axis of time with his pure speed somehow.
Just to give you a short rundown; infinite speed is having speed that let's you travel infinite distance in finite time. Immeasurable speed is being able to travel through time with sheer speed alone. Irrelevant speed is being completely beyond the speed formula, or basically being beyond time. What you called acausality could also be perceived as irrelevant speed, though I wouldn't go that far
Doom Guy after the divinity machine was indestructible. Only god like beings, with the divine spark, could even hurt him. That is stated in lore. The audio recording does say though that there was other stuff in that blood sample, so it is kind of an inconsistency in the lore itself. Because lore wise Doom Slayer just effed up Davoth, the god of the doom universe and was just fine physically. He did pass out, though, so I don't know what happened there.
5:35 to be fair most of people think that because there are literally no scars on Doom Guy that would come from demons, same with his armour. Im not saying that Doom guy can't be hurt by Argent, but thanks to him being a being more powerfull then anything in his universe, I think he just regenerates himself so fast that it is imposible to see it in naked eye, that would explain why both humans and demons are so freaking terrified of this guy.
7:00 I belive that Devinitive Machine didn't buusted Doom Slayer powers, only woke them up. From moment of his birth he was a freaking god destined to beat Davoth (devs stated that Doom Slayer was destined to beat Davoth, I think). Devinitive machine awaken his powers and thanks to this he could use all his power, and beceame guy who was supposed to kill Davoth. You probably think why Davoth went so easy, if they were supposed to be arch nemesis, Frieza and Goku, Darkseid and Superman, Batman and Joker thing. I think it is because Doom Slayer was killing demons for thousand of years or longer. He quite literally was consuming their souls and stopping them from being reborn, which kinda gives him infinite potential. He eated so many souls that he basicly ragdolled Davoth.
14:58 From what I have seen, via gameplay, they can dodge bullets and any other shooting weapon that Doom guy has, BUT they are not faster or as fast as Doom Slayer, otherwise he should be able to dodge his guns even when they attack like Doomguy who was able to dodge their attacks when he was shooting,. Let's also not forget that Slayer was able to dodge and keep up with beings like Khan Maykyr or Samuel Hayden in his corrupted form (although it depends if travel speed and fighting speed are the same, although second one should have better stats), so by this logic Maruder is near that level, but maybe this is some gameplay bullshit.

Alex Mercer or James Heller would see the demon horde as a huge source of biomass. Even if argent energy burns so hot running through demon veins, their biomass would help Alex and james cope with it. They move at insane speeds, possess strength and durability that only gets higher and higher the more biomass they consume, plus a healing factor that can regenerate Mercer from a puddle of blood or from the body of a crow infected. After consuming enough imps, possessed, pinkies (basically the demons with lower argent heat in the body) they’d both become resistant to argent, possibly even begin to channel it by replicating the demon biology through shapeshifting. They’d be tearing through hell knights with critical mass abilities now fueled by demonic biomass. James and Alex definitely would become more demonic in features and powers, however, though it’a strongly possible james heller has a soul that can be corrupted, Alex Mercer has no soul, he’s just a virus that takes on Alex’s identity, meaning the evil souls have nothing to inhabit once their demon meat suit gets devoured!
Definitely know if there’s a demon invasion in destiny the demons will put up a good fight but I don’t think argent energy can destroy a ghost. Also there guns literally defy all physics

Infinite speed is going through an infinite space in a amount of time, example being if a characters universe is said to be infinite but they’re able to go from one end to the other in like 10 minutes it would be deemed infinite speed. Immeasurable speed means there’s no time frame that matters or can be calculated of a character going from point A to point B. Example is something like the flash going through time, Superman moving so fast he breaks the bonds of infinity, or Sonic running through the multiverse.
That’s horse shit. If they arrived there in any amount of time it meant it wasn’t infinite, if they got there instantly it was teleportation, and if they got there before teleportation it was time travel. You can’t remove distance or time from the speed equation if you do it isn’t speed anymore but something else.
As for moving through time in the films Flash is capable of going through time via going faster than light. That’s not infinite. In fact many fictions have different speed requirements for traveling through time. Scalers assume infinite when the series doesn’t tell you what that speed is. Lack of evidence isn’t evidence.
@@rougarabid you’re not removing either of those from the speed equation at all, you’re just pretty much dividing infinity by a number which will literally still give you infinity (or inconclusive). Yes, if it was instant then it is considered teleportation or if before, time travel, however if the method of which they do it is through flight and/or running it is considered being infinite speed or immeasurable. It’s like when the flash beat that alien that can instantly teleport in a race, yes you can say he just time traveled but it was still accomplished by running so it would be considered a speed feat. If someone was able to be in a million places at once you can say they’re just cloning themselves BUT if it’s done by them just running we’ll count it as immeasurable. It’s really about the method of which the feat is being done by.

That’s not true. There’s a whole section of the game where Doomguy has to go get the Crucible from the Sentinel Homeworld specifically because he needs it to kill Icon. It’s stated by Hugo and Samuel Hayden to be the only way to kill them and even then only as long as it stays in their body.

Titans having granted True Immortality doesn't make any relative sense because it would mean that Davoth could grant his people that immortality. The Jekkadians to be more specific. In which... They aren't. We fought them in the TAG 2 DLC and yet they still fall like mushy meat paste. No returning back from the dead or any of that stuff.

I think people get confused with him not being able to be damaged because it has been stated that without his armor, he was still in hell beating the shit out of demons, but it’s like Kratos. He has a healing factor. It’s very difficult to damage him confused because they couldn’t kill him, even after they knocked him out while dropping entire mountain on him, they only steal him away. so they believe they couldn’t damage him but damaging and killing something are different

That doesn’t really mean much. The new timeline introduced Argent, the Maykrs, Sentinel Technology and many other factors into Earth’s history that wasn’t there in the original timeline. Any one of these could have altered events to make the demons invade at a different time period. And honestly it’s not TGAT big of a difference. OG DOOM was unspecified but in the 21st Century and DOOM 2018 was in the 22nd Century around 2140. That’s not that big of a difference considering how many alterations to the timeline there were.

Power scaling is such a tricky thing to balance. I'm working on a setting that works on DBZ logic. So you've got characters who are naturally powerful and well above superhuman but regular earth humans can suplex a tank and fly if they train the right way. How? I'm working on it, alright.

Actually, the blood samples were from before Doom Eternal and 2016 (most likely), because that recording can be found in Arc Tower, which is before Mars Core.
No the recordings were created after the demons invaded Earth due to them talking about it and that didn’t happen till after DOOM 2016.

We do know that normal weapons can and do kill demons as the earlier doom games are canon and those weapons dont have or use argent energy. Sure they are different timelines and universes but its the same demons. So doing power scaling in any way is almost impossible
I explain this in the video. Doomguy is and has always been a primeval and has been stated by Hugo Martin to empower his weapons with his Will.
1: Doomguy has ALWAYS been able to empower his weapons, he is a primeval, and hinted at being something even more(meaning that even without the divinity machine, it is possible that Doomguy was at a level above Davoth)
2: that was BEFORE Argent Energy was discovered, meaning demons were MUCH weaker. because Khan Maykr is the one who decided to add the two energies together in the first place
While he Does get Hurt in the Mars base Event, he is an absolute immortal and invincible being in Doom Eternal, Doomguy was more vulnerable in 2016 only because the Praetor suit was pretty much a more primitive version of the new fully built Eternal Suit (plus the DOOM MUSCLES BABY).
They also called Doomguy a Subject, which probably flew over your head but they drew some blood from Doomguy when he was probably in his sarcophagus or shortly after opening it with Samuel's Help.
That in itself changes all what you just said basically, if Argent really could Harm Doom Slayer, it means the Dark Lord had a morbid chance of winning, which makes 0 sense considering the Codex says how omnipotent and omnipresent Doomguy is in Eternal.
Your argument doesn’t hold water. For one if the humans could draw blood that means the demons could damage him considering they are far more powerful.
2 it says in the codex that
“Attempts to wake the man were fruitless - and to harm him even more so - as a protective Argent barrier around the body kept him safe from harm in permanent stasis.”
It makes it clear they couldn’t affect him one way or the other. How could they draw blood if they couldn’t harm him in any way?
No he could have only been made to bleed after being revived from stasis which could only be done be the demons.

Overall amazing video but I gotta give some criticism. The statement given by Dr. Elena about how they got a sample of the Slayer's blood is indeed an anti-feat, but I feel like you can't just use that anti-feat to negate his overall feat that is more consistent than Dr. Elena's claim. I mean his power and state of existence alone is equal, if not, superior than Davoth, the literal creator of the entire Doom multiverse. I mean you mentioned that anti-feat, but didn't mention how the Slayer struggled on breaking the chains that chained him in the sarcophagus, during the part where you're talking about how the Slayer broke the chains that chained the Titans. I'm not looking for arguments, just a civil discussion if we can but it just doesn't make sense how you brought the anti-feat to negate his overall durability and how durable he is based on the feats that we see. I mean you also brought up the fact that the Slayer beat the Champion, a Demon vastly stronger than any of the Demons we faced in 2016. Plus, he beats the Champion, at least presumably< before he was amped by the Davoth"s Power

You've done a couple Shooter universes vs the demons, but shooters are in general high tech, low magic, and the demons are high tech, high magic. How would they compare to other, similar weight class universes? How would the demons compare to any Final Fantasy universe, for example? They have swords that can kill anything, enough people that can summon LITERAL GODS to fight for them that they have an entire class built around it, random monsters just roaming around that are at least city-level threat, and bosses that are universe-levels consistently. Not to mention they have plenty of monsters that have mental effects (like the corruption) and ways to counter them with either spells or items. They literally have an item that cures death, and it's not even that rare.
Most of the demons would just be the equivalent of random world encounters, with the upper end being late game bosses. Not much would actually change for the inhabitants I think.

I tried finding the codex stating that the UAC was unable to kill a baron and a hell knight but it never says that. This isn't a gotcha I just want to find those codex you're talking about.
It’s in DOOM 2016 not Eternal. They talk about their trips to Hell and state to just avoid the Baron’s all together because they can’t take them down. Hugo Martin mentioned in an interview that Earth was incapable of taking down a single Titan during the invasion.

I looked at the Baron's codex and it doesn't mention them trying to avoid it. It just says how they couldn't be captured. But capturing is a lot different from killing, it's easier to kill than it is to capture.
Which specific codex in 2016 states them trying to avoid them, because I can't find it.

They weren't UNABLE to capture them, they just never did, and Hell Knights said nothing about them not being able to be captured either
