I loved our bio cube it was our 1st saltwater tank. We ended up getting a 175 gallon Red Sea tank down the road but the bio cube was always my favorite, this tank gives you everything you need for a awesome tank and it doesn’t break the bank.
Do you now use your bio cube for qt or salt mix tank?
Top shelf: biocube filter catridge (be sure to rinse first) and chemi-pure blue underneath
Middle shelf: biopellets (mesh bag)
Bottom shelf: Matrix (mesh bag)
One extra tip: If you plan on putting a pistol shrimp in the tank, put the rock down on the glass first and then pour in the live sand. Pistol shrimp love to excavate the substrate under the rocks which can cause the base rock to shift. You don't want the entire rock structure collapsing onto your corals and sessile inverts.
Or just glue your rockscape
@@apdroidgeek1737 I don’t think you read my comment fully. Even if the rock work is glued, it will shift when the substrate is excavated, causing the whole rock work to shift into the glass or onto any fish hiding underneath.
Been running a similar setup to this for about a month now. Fish are doing awesome!
Is there anyway you guys can add on the description what i teams you used or the link so we can order them all? Thank you
Thanks for the videos! Got my biocube going this week! Did water and sand two days ago after using super glue gel AND reef epoxy putty on the rocks, plugged in yesterday, and will be getting fish probably next week. Got a filter pad over the standard biocube filter for now. When I add the fish I'll add the Matrix (I went WAY overboard on that stuff lol) and bacteria (also have a little more than needed), and then I also have chemipure blues, a carbon infused media pad, bio pellets, and a phosphate removal filter pad on standby for use as-needed. Only other things I've done is a Spin Stream nozzle and a small programmable wave maker. Will upgrade filter as/if needed.
Thank you for the in-depth video. This is great!
I still have mine nice setup 🔥
Just received my Biocube from you guys this evening. Since i am setting it up as a freshwater tank, is it recommended to add the items she placed in the three shelves, or is that for only saltwater?
Question…shouldn’t you put the rocks in first, and then the sand, so the rocks don’t move? Also should you glue the rocks together so they don’t inadvertently move? Last question, would a couple clown fish and gobies or cardinals be ok in there and could you add a cleaner shrimp or 2? Also would you recommend a wave maker for this tank? I’m looking at starting my first salt water tank but have a lot of questions. Thank you.
Did you put a heater in the tank? If so, where did you put it?
Great video great to know you guys are in SC I’m in NC 2 hours away got to visit you guys 🙏
Think Different Music Group please do! We’re more of a “destination” store and worth the trip! 😊
Great video thank you
Help! My aqua clear foam is floating and impeding flow into the second chamber because of it. How can I remedy that? Thanks!
I am looking at the Bio Cube. This is AWESOME info right here, Thanks ! I live up the Road just a bit in NC, May have to come pay you guys a visit !
pointnozzleaway - we’re gonna be at an Aquatic show in Charlotte on Saturday- the bio cubes will be there as well!
@@FishyBusinessSC where is the show ?

What Marineland LED did you use? Do you have a link? Or can you just tell me what kind it is?
What kind of light does she use extra ? How does it work is it blue ? More info plz
Been thinking of getting one as I miss my old saltwater tank. Think your videos convinced me. What about a Mandarin Goby in a 32 with two clownfish two anemones, coral and plants? The mandarins are funny sometimes but I did have one before.
Hello, I have my Bio Cube set up. I was wondering how full the sight glass should be on the left side? Ty
Can you list all of the filtration? Couldn’t hear. Also heater or No heater?
Thank you
What marineland led strip or light do you recommend to up the par rating?
Thanks for the video.. just picked up a tank like this.. so if I use all live supplies..sand water and rock I can add a fish after a few days?
No, you need to cycle the tank
Girls got it goin on!
Thank you so much
Who knew Richard Rollins was into fish tanks
I ❤ this tank!
Is the tank still available for purchase?
What is the light you added to the lip!!! I ordered on and it is too long for that lip 😊
What marineland light strip did you use for more lighting?
Is there a link or can I have the exact name to the Bio pellets that you use. I tried looking them up but I always find the ones that need a protein skimmer or a reactor.
I’m about to buy this same setup ..
What brand of bio pellets are you using? Don’t they normally go in a reactor?
Why did you use the whole bag of bio pellets, the bag treats 500gal?
Thanks for the video, how often would you partial water change this setup?
On the tank set up at the store , we do a five gallon water change once a week . Just make sure the tank has gone through a nitrogen cycle before the first water change 😊
@@FishyBusinessSC I just bought one. What do you mean by "make sure the tank has gone through a nitrogen cycle?"
Hello just bought a bio cube 32 question how much of the 3 items you placed in the mesh bags do I use thanks oh and how often do I replace
The chemi pure is pre-packed so just use it as is and replace it once every two months. 250ml of the bio pellets should be good for 6 months and the sponge just needs to be rinsed when you do a water change 😊
@@FishyBusinessSC what is the brand of mesh bags you use? Type of Bio Pellets and sponge I would like to order all the exact same items you used on the biocube for my biocube.
Thank you for a great vid!!! I’m very new to Salt water what is the maintenance like on a tank like this?
Once the tank is cycled, we recommend a simple 5 gallon water change each week
Very informative, thanks. So there is enough circulation that it doesn't need another powerhead?
If it’s gonna have a heavy coral population, I would add another small power head, yes 😊
@@FishyBusinessSC what smaller size would you recommend in addition with the one it already comes with?
Is the aqua clear foam the only other filtration you put in? How often should I replace the foam?
Riley Patterson the foam can be cleaned and reused for many months up to a year , we also add bio pellets chemi pure blue and Seachem matrix as well , as seen in the video.
Fishy Business SC Thanks! Love the videos
What is the Matrix bottle for? I’ve run into that brand. The one I’ve chosen that best fits it’s one that has Carbon. Is that right
Do y'all know if there's a better protein skimmer than the biocube one that will actually fit in the back with the lid closed? Been considering the Fluval but can't figure out if it will fit. Need to keep the cost reasonable though.
(PS I have enough biological media in mine for a 220 gallon tank but really want a skimmer for when I add more to the bio load).
I am looking for a starter tank and love this setup, however looking at reviews for this tank, I see a lot of negatives for it leaking. Should I be looking at a different tank?
Ron Donato we’ve sold more biocubes than almost any other tank we sell and I can’t recall replacing one for leaks. Now having said that, I’m sure we probably have and I’m just unaware of the instance. People are always quick to post negative comments over positive comments so I would tell you that from my experience, you are as safe trying this tank as any other 😊
Don’t let the reviews sway your decision if this seems like it fits your purpose
@@FishyBusinessSC thanks for the quick reply.
Can you recommend a decent, not insanely expensive chiller for the biocube? Asking because I live very close to Mojave. It's 100+ degrees here 90% of the year lol.
Do you ever clean or replace the sponge that you placed in the first chamber
It can be rinsed off many times and replaced only when it’s really worn out 😊
Can you please tell me if you add water over the pump? TIA
I recently got the the 32g biocube with the coralife skimmer (it was included). Would it better to use the sponge or the skimmer in the first compartment?
I am going to use the sponge and see what happens
What is the name of the sponge ?
What marineland light are you able to clip onto the front of the tank?
It’s called the accent light - 17inch . We have had trouble getting them since Covid, but that’s what we used 😊
@@FishyBusinessSC thank you for the video
Hey guys amazing set up, I basically followed it step by step and love it, did you guys use the Reef Interests All In One, NP or what type of bio pellets?
Reef interests 😊
I know but is it the all in one or np?
Do I need a heater for this tank?. I just bought the same one. Thank you.
You don’t “have” to have a heater. We recommend one if the temp fluctuates often where the tank will be set up . If the tank stays between 76-78 you can get away without having one 😊🐟🐠
What's the best return pump replacement for the Biocube 29 gallon?
Hello how are you? I was trying to find the name of the bio pellets but didn’t find them on the comments. Can someone help me please
“Reef Interests” all-in-one bio pellets
@@FishyBusinessSC thank you very much
Great video. I just purchased a bio 32 led. Which marineland led strip or light do you recommend to up the par rating? Thank you.
I would also like to know
Does it need a heater?
Most of the time , no but it’s always a good idea to have a small heater in any tank of this size just to control fluctuations in temp. We usually show one when selling the tank 😊
@@FishyBusinessSC What chamber do you place the heater in?
Can you use this for fresh water
yes
What is all the stuff that you put in the 3 sections of the chamber ?
What do y’all sell and what’s your shipping to va?
How after setup how long do you have to wait to put in Corals?
Depends on the prep work ( bacteria solutions / and exactly how quick the tank is cycled) if liverock/sand/nutriseawater/ is used, Hardy corals could be added within the first week or two
Any reports of the biocubes cracking ?
In 2020 we had 3 cracks in 280 sold
@@FishyBusinessSC Thank you! well that's pretty good odds?👍
Is the foam the size of a 110 aquaclear?
Sarah Morgan it is!
I was wondering if someone could smell out the filtration stuff he used and in the order so I can buy the stuff at the store.
So, we used Reef Interest Bio pellets, a Chemi-Pure Blue Carbon bag and an aqua clear foam cartridge. The type of foam isn’t that important- just so that the shape conforms to the BioCube 😊 Hope that helps
Fishy Business SC appreciate it!
Does it have to be salt water?
Not at all - makes a really nice freshwater tank as well 😊
Hes quizing her🤣😭🤣 and any octopus species small enough to keep in this btw??
Why do you put bio pellets in the back chamber does it work without a reactor?
applebokcorp , yes . With these particular bio pellets you do not need a reactor. Just the passing of water through them and their immersion in the water filled chamber will make them work. So far they are the only bio pellets we have found that work for denitrification without a reactor 😊 which make them ideal for a bio cube.
What type of bio pellets?
Riley Patterson , Reef Interest Bio pellets
Ok, Thanks!
What stand is this?
One we made
How do you know it won't fall with multiple pieces?
How much are the bio cub
how many lbs of rock is that?
Which foam the 110?
Casey Lavergne , yes 😊
@@FishyBusinessSC thank you, I just set it up yesterday with live sand and rock and disappointed in the filtration system it came with
I purchased the matrix, aquaclear filter , chemi blue and bio pellets and I have what looks like a lot of floating particals or something. The bio pellets were a different brand I believe.
I did not see you add a heater, or talk about which chamber your heater was in ?
I think is built in heater
After setting up my biocube and filling up I noticed a leak on the rear right corner chamber 1. I’m so bummed!
MikeS 82 , so sorry to here that! If you got it from us please bring it in and we’ll be happy to replace it
Silicone it from the inside its easy
I am getting Josh Brolin vibes from this guy…
So are you guys saying not to use a protein skimmer? Just use the foam as a substitute?
We normally don’t use a skimmer on the bio cube , however one can be added
@@FishyBusinessSC silly question I'm sure but, is it bad to add the aqua clear foam 110 to the biocube 32 now that I have fish established in the tank. I want to make sure I am not throwing anything off in water quality.
