My second tutorial of (less obvious) tips and tricks; this time for Live 9's SESSION MODE!

Rad I was already doing a lot of these things (like recording post MIDI effect notes onto a new MIDI track) but you get deep with it here. I never noticed that gate control thing, that is gonna be fun, I imagine you could also arm the MIDI track that controls the gate to do some live "rhythm gating" -just made that term up...

Another favorite of mine is to use "note" or "scale" midi effect after the arpeggiator and set the range to C-1. This way you will skip every note that is under the range and will create breaks in the sequence. You can add more long notes below the range for more breaks or only have the low notes so the breaks are only there sometime.
You've missed the whole "map to siblings" part...The "copy to siblings" option is there by default, no need to add anything to the option.txt. It's only when mapping to a macro you'll be able to see and use "map to siblings" after adding that feature to the txt file... Great video though! :)
SF8008 word yea... i use that... i guess i try to keep the tips digestible and that one was just about show devices.
OK, Im going crazy here... Im following exactly what you seem to be doing to send the MIDI Randomizer to the second channel... I am hearing the operator come thru and i see signal on both channels......but I cant seem to get it through the randomizer....
One thing I noticed that was different was that when I set my monitor to "in" it turns blue... not yellow like yours....

For tip #5, can this be done with soft synths (like Arturia V collection) or is it exclusive to Ableton Operator?

can I ask you what video recording program you are using? because I cant seem to get my Kontrol 1 Soundcard to get recorded on my previous attempt.
Screenflow + sound flower
Route everything to sound flower and then make that the recording input for screenflow.
Do yourself a favor and test out your setup before you spend an hour talking and realize it didn't work. :)

Tip 10 is not working for me, though. I created the Options.txt on location (it was not there)
tip 9 -CopyToSiblings flag is working perfectly (THANKS FOR THAT) it is a great tip.
Nevertheless the flag -ShowDeviceSlots does not seem to show any button on Ableton 9

Gotcha! sorted out tip 10. Make sure that in text edit you set FORMAT> MAKE PLAIN TEXT
then it will work.
