The shape of the wing wasn’t the problem. You can’t feel that recess when the disc is in your hand. The problem with the Groove and the Monarch was inconsistency. You could get two of them and they would behave completely differently.
I hear that complaint with half the discs on the market, it’s become such a saturated comment that it’s lost most of its credibility as a complaint. It’s seeped into the echo chamber side of things to the point where I’m not confident half these people could even throw it consistently to get consistent results
@@wasteful8911 all plastic is going to be a little inconsistent. There’s nothing you can do about that but these were on a different level. You could fall in love with one of these and then get another one and it could fly like a completely different disc.
@@craigcampbell1843 i know plastics all have their issues, but innova has this problem a lot more often. they have so many molds and pump out so many discs that the amount of inconsistencies is far more than usual.
@@wasteful8911 I’m no scientist but I always assumed the inconsistency in Grooves and Monarchs specifically was so bad that it must be because of their unique shape. Not the plastic. I could definitely be wrong though.
I actually love the rim feel on forehands. I'm a one finger flicker but with the groove I love resting my middle finger up in that groove. Maybe Innova should release something beefy with that rim.

I discovered a monarch in my tournament disc's, and I love it because of how straight it flies! I use it as midrange though. Great video!
I use the monarch on my bomber distance drives. I can usually get about 420-430 out of that disc. I love it
I used to bag a couple of monarchs. Having a lower arm speed and living at elevation(~5500 ft), they were totally amazing. Forehand and backhand.
