Damn kickflips. I still can't get as high as I'd like. Bright side: some of the best kickflip pros say they had trouble too, at first. Well done and great persistence - looks like you spent the whole day there!!

Happy 3 year anniversary!!! I'm so glad you cleaned out the sd card and caught the first on video. What a joy to relive it with you. I'm surprised I didn't notice this video in your catalog earlier. Actually it's when you get really fed up and tired that you start to think and concentrate. You take your time and think exactly what you should do. Think about all the precious advices and be super fast on the flick... It took me one year... 🤣

Kick flips are so tough...I used to be really good at them when I was 16...flipping over stuff, now I have learned the finess if it all...well learning more like it...I slide my foot up like a regular Ollie and then I lightly flick my foot out and up...this levels the board for me...so stoked you landed it bruvna!!!

Yeah, you are pretty close! Last time I landed one it was 4 months ago. But I was injured the 3 last months and didn't try much of those... Out of injury I land once in a while. I should practice it more but those persistence are exhausting! So I prefer to learn easy tricks. But I'll try it again soon. It's an idea for a new video! 👍🏼

matt stanbridge thank you so much for your support man! I was so exhausted at the end of that persistence that I had to rest between the attempts. It was also a time when I could thinks about all the last advices and comments: being more on my toes, flicking more on the side, my foot position and the most important, I was flicking to late. It made me realize that I was popping to much my Ollie to go higher, scared to land and the dark side when my biggest problem was the flick. So I popped less my Ollie, get on my toes and flick as fast as I could. Et voilà! 😅😂

Haha yes it was such a big battle. I tried for one full year. I spent so many hours in it! Actually, my first Kickflip is the best Kickflip I ever landed. I lost the trick few month after that video and got it back a year ago. I can now land at least one per session but never as good as this one.

Wolfgang Icarus I wear light elbow gards, light shin gards and wrist gards. But nothing on my knee yet. I didn't injured my knees yet! 😅

Thank you so much Man! It has been 2 years since I restarted now. And when you restart you don't really know what to do. So you just skate and try to land tricks. But now I realised what would have help me is to work first on the balance(maybe with a balance board), to work on the legs and back muscle at the gym and to work on flexibility and stretching. We have take care of our old bones if we want to keep on skating. I had a pretty bad back injury and I have been scared that I should definitely stop. Now everything is fine but I stretch a lot and work on those back muscles. From now also I deceided to learn more transition stuff because it's less aggressive on the body. Started skating at 41. Now 45 and working hard 1+ every night on getting a kickflip whilst on lockdown, 10 days in tired and sore... How did you get from half flips to full rotation under you? I seem stuck there. Great video.
Thank you Man! The last tips before I landed it was to always stay on my toes, flicks earlier and flicks hard like if I wanted to do a double flip! And most of all, don't give up! 😅
