Deadly plane crash in Washington, D.C.

Hundreds of rescuers are searching the frigid waters of the Potomac River for survivors after an American Airlines jet with 60 passengers and four crew members collided with an Army helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport on Wednesday.

13 years with 3rd Marine Air Wing, both peacetime and deployed. This 'training' excuse is an insult to anyone who's served, a complete violation of any training doctrine. VFR conditions, clear skies, and a Black Hawk acting like it's on a joyride? Where's the accountability? Training flights don't happen like this. Period. The location -MILES away from military airspace, the lack of supervision - trainees are SUPERVISED, the radio silence -Black Hawks RESPOND to tower. It all screams cover-up. VFR conditions, clear as day. The Army needs to explain itself.

Who is protecting all the evidence? There are hundreds of people including divers and dozens of boats working, but there should also be someone protecting evidence. We do not know enough yet therefore anything is possible and the safeguarding of evidence may be crucial in future.

The military love their night vision goggles. In June 1996, during a Black Hawk training exercise near Townsville, 18 men died when two helicopters collided mid-air and crashed.
