Do you go over the joints with white aliphatic glue on the inside afterwards? I agree with you that the CYA is great for fast building but is a bit brittle. Also, how to you prevent the glue ridges due to the glue being so much harder than the balsa? Granted, modern balsa is a lot harder - and heavier :(
Hi Airplany Guy Yes I use pva glue watered down to 50/50 on the inside where ever I can get to, I often apply it with a small paint brush taped to a pole, as far as the hard joint you get with ca glue I use 800 to 1000 grit sandpaper glued to a flat block to try and prevent glue ridge. I try to get balsa as light and soft as possible but not easy to find.
Looks light, all the strength in the outer shell. Nice!
