Warframe is one of those games where, if you do your homework on lore or just have a mild interest towards it, it'll become one of your favourite games of all time.
The gun Kahl picks up from Rhino is the Corinth Prime. One of the ways you see how strong the Tenno are is the HUGE kick that it has when Kahl uses it, versus when you use it as a player. The kick is there, but a fraction of what Kahl puts up with.
I absolutely love the first act, gives you perspective in regards to how powerful Warframes are in contrast to the average mook or a Dax Soldier. Also: Kahl of Duty, Debt Space, Teshin: Shadows Die Twice: Revengeance.
In terms of gameplay? Maybe. In terms of story? Hell no. This is the only quest that threw out main protagonist out of his own quest for the sake of introducing a new version of a character that wont be invested in anyway. Sentients were dumbed down, Ballas as the villain again makes him look stupid, instead of being a smart war tactician that he was.
@@wanted_melon2348 Winning the war doesnt make him a good villain, its always how someone achieves that and Ballas didnt do anything of value to secure that win.
Veso-R is one of the best corpus we ever meet… it’s depressing he doesn’t make it. Edit: imagine being umbra, watching another child you love die by the same man.
For my Brothers! The whole reason I suggested to do the New War prior to doing Duviri is simply to keep the surprise of the Drifter. And by the way that was Lotus' hand that fell from the sky and helped the Drifter regain control over the Paradox in Duviri.
Ballas stabbing the operator is also the blade that goes through the drifters chest but doesn’t kill him before it drops and his words can be heard during it
It's really interesting seeing this quest through the eyes of someone who has already completed Duviri, as the New War came out before that. So when the first wave of players did it, we had no idea who the drifter was.

Not sure if you are aware of this but the choice system, the white sun, black moon and twilight, does not represent good vs evil choices. It actually represents Emotion vs Logic choices. An example of this is that in the Sacrifice quest the white option are "Squirm like the maggot you are" which does not sound like something a good path would have, while the Black option "Now the Cycle is broken" sounds more like something a good path would have. Honestly I think I only realized this when in the lead up to the release of the New War quest, they relased a poem about the choice system that is really good, would recommend it, that gave a really good at explanation for what each path means. With White being the Sun, representing following your emotions in decision making, Black being the Moon representing following your logical conclusions in decision making, and the Twilight middle path representing a balance between the 2 extremes in decision making.
I still think Second Dream takes the cake for me. That first big twist...man, that's how you subvert expectations in the right way! Still, I've been so impressed at how DE has only continued to improve in their storytelling since. They've made me eagerly anticipate each new cinematic quest. I'm so hyped for 1999! Cool boss fight hamstrung by frustrating mechanics.
I just did New War a few days ago and it was amazing. One thing though was that I didn't play railjack missions a lot so my railjack was whack and kept dying lmao. Also, I'm glad I never changed my Drifter's looks so the contrast when the Drifter and the Operator meet that time in the dormizone was really nice.

I don't think any other game has ever done a "consequences of the player losing" sequence with THAT much impact. Or at the very least i haven't experienced any. For Narmer will haunt me for the rest of my life, Keith Power and the music team really surpassed their already exceptional standards for this quest.
I can definitely see both sides of which order to play Duviri and New War. I played New War first and it creates an anachronistic story progression that I incidentally really like. I love going "Huh? What!? How did this happen!" So when I got in to Duviri and see the Drifter get stabbed by the Paracesis and the Lotus's hand binds to them, I went "Oooooh, that's when this happens. That's how the Drifter got involved." For me the wonder of not knowing the Drifter's backstory in the New War was super fun, but I can understand not knowing that may be frustrating to some people.
I totally agree with you, imo playing Duviri before New War kinda ruins that one cutscene, which somewhat reveals what’s actually going on, if you know which one I’m talking about. When I played New War on release the mystery behind everything and the questions that formed were something that made me even more hooked to the story

The Teshin segment was a TON of fun. Very much a hack-n-slash-ey segment, but is AMAZING. Teshin's dual katana CAN be crafted after completing duviri, but you sadly can't use his "Imbue element" gimmik without slaping on a basic element mod.
