  • Muselaar after Couchet (1650) by Derek Adlam and Richard Burnett, 1976. 1x8', 47 keys (C/E-c''') with split-sharp broken octave in the bass and arpichordium stop. Beautiful soundboard painting and decorative Flemish papers. Turned leg stand in oak. A gorgeous concert instrument formerly at Finchcocks in Kent, used for recordings by Trevor Pinnock, Christopher Hogwood, Robert Woolley, and others.

Soundboards mature. After half a century the tone will be even better than when it was made.

Adlam: the finest maker of Flemish virginals (muselaars included) since the 17th century. Magical instruments.
