You can get noises like that from Twin Clutch auto transmissions as well, Volkswagen and Mitsubishi especially! Clutch chatter is it's common name and should only be heard when idling and stationary.
The clutch itself is great. Very light pedal feel and would be a good for the street if it weren't for the carbon discs. It can get a little grabby when it gets hot but you adapt quickly.
Try adjusting the clutch if you haven't already gotten that done. Might not be engaging all the way even with your foot flat on the floor. happened to my evo when I got it. Fixed within 15 minutes and a few adjustments.
Jeremy Hogan my clutchmasters twin disc on my civic makes the same noise. I couldn't deal with the noise every time I press the clutch for every day driving so I put back in a competition clutch single disc. It also had a chirping sound when you first engage 1st or 2nd
Hey. Love that sound too. I've got the ORC carbon twin plate in my GTR. Having some problems though with getting it into first (i.e. taking off) from a stop position smoothly. Still regularly stalling and finding it almost impossible to slip so very hard to drive in traffick. Any advice??? It would be greatly appreciated.
The outcome is that the clutch is just that noisy. :) The clacking and rattling doesn't bother me when I'm idle but the low RPM (1500-2500) lugging noise and vibration is pretty annoying though.
@@SirSaturnine8008 No problem with the clutch. It's just noisy when you step in the clutch because the plates are rattling around. It goes away once engaged and things all clamp up.
Love it! I have a Spec twin disc clutch and people are always telling my my car is broken :). I just call it jingle bells
i love that sound. i have the same clutch in my fd and its amazing...

the twin disk is suppose to make this nosie its just the disk rotating since there are two of them it only does it when you push in the clutch right
remind me of a dry clutch in some motorcycles, still sound awesome.

Sounds awesome just like mad max movie
Usually from metal throwout bearing I’ve found out.I don’t like the noise but I’m stuck with it for now!
My Specd twin disc clutch sounds just like that. Noisy as hell at low rpm. Works fine though
is it making that noise when u press the pedal in?
Yes. The rattly clanging sound is with the clutch pedal down and disengaged. When it's engaged, it sounds normal. :)
mine does the same thing. just checking to see if someone else had the same thing going on lol

i had that problem a while ago and it was the pressure plate and release bearing, the fingers were actually bent in
From what I been hearing that is normal
The noise you are listening for is the grinding sound.
My gt500 does the same thing and I have a spec twin disc.
