    I learned tycka om early on... and in my mind I tänker it as "I think about"... so "I like you" is basically "I think about you." It's not perfect, but it helped make it stick in my head... especially since I learned it and also that tycker was "think." I had to make it make sense (and also helps me use tycka in the right situation). Thanks for this new video... even better than the original tycker/tänker/tror one.

    I DO love watching your videos. They are really helpful, I'm learning a lot! And I got really surprised to see the Brazilian actress Renata Sorrah (in her iconic role as Nazaré Tedesco for the telenovel "Senhora do Destino") when you talk about "tänka" (at minute 4:14). I laughed so very much to see that. Well, Jag tror att du kommer att gilla denna information 😁😉

    Rebecca Ferguson did an interview about her early career and she mentioned the name of a Swedish show:
    "Nya Tider"
    I've tried to pronounce it the way she did, but i keep saying "Nua Tidéé".
    I've noticed how Swedish people can create this "compressed" muscle effect that I can't imitate. 🤐🤐🤐

      Svensk slang från engelskans "to like".

    hi, good video. I unnderstood everything, I have a question. What's the difference between ATT LAJKA and ATT TYCKA when they mean TO LIKE? I hope a soon answer, thank you.

    • @FunSwedish
      @FunSwedish  Год назад +1

      Happy to hear you liked it. So the expression "att lajka" is kind of a slang word from the English word "to like" but the Swedish translation to "to like" on fb would be "gilla". However, we also use gilla and tycka om (these are interchangable) when we want to say that we like someone or something. Jag gillar /tycker om dig. Or Jag gillar /tycker om musik.

      @@FunSwedish thank you, so I got interested in Gillar and Tycker, what's the difference between them?

    • @AifosViruset
      @AifosViruset Год назад +2

      I'd only use lajka for "pushing the like button" as in "lajka min video"="like my video"

  • @axvic
    @axvic Год назад

    To be fair "Jag tänker att det är en bra idé" is only wrong if the person means that they tycker, but you can also tänka that something is a good idea, as if unsure whether or not it's really a good idea but you think it might be. I've heard many native Swedish people speak that way in different contexts.
    Aside from that, I've never really even thought about tycka, tänka and tro. I guess it's just those things that a native speaker doesn't really consider.

    • @AifosViruset
      @AifosViruset Год назад

      Using tänka in that way is something that Swedish people often get corrected on. It is not considered technicly correct, more like sloppy language or anglicisation. I think it will be considered acceptable Swedish in the future, but right now you will be corrected by many if you speak that way. It is more common among ypung people and something that is discussed among people interested in language.

    • @axvic
      @axvic Год назад

      @@AifosViruset Thus far I haven't been corrected nor have I ever heard anyone been corrected for it. You could be right, although I don't see why it wouldn't be correct Swedish.
      "Jag tänker att vi kanske borde.." "Jag tänker att det vore bäst om.." it's different from "jag tycker att". Swedish is pretty remarkable in that way, one's imagination is what limits it or makes it flourish. imo.

    • @AifosViruset
      @AifosViruset Год назад

      @@axvic The reason why it is criticised is that historically it is wrong to say "tänker att". It was "tänker på" and "tycker att".
      Lots of people say "tänker att" now because Swedish is very influenced by English right now, but a lot of older people will remember what they learned in school and criticise it. You will 100% be understood, and it will most likely be considered normal swedish in the future, not quite yet though.
      I would never correct anyone on it because I understand the nuance that they are trying to conway that the old rule does not allow for.
