As an iranian, I completely respect how you Swedes act and behave towards and I love your culture, manner , ideologies mentality and everything else. also, I see you people are too cautious in everything and every situation but as long as I'm an introvert person and love same qualities as you mentioned like punctuality, clarity, being straight or direct, being humble and so on ,this country probably is like a heaven to me. just I wish i was born as a Swede. lucky you..👍👍🌹🌹
As a Singaporean, I have to say Swedes are pretty similar in certain ways to us compared to other Europeans in general. And you're such a great Svenska lärare 👍
I write from Northern Italy! First and foremost, I am watching several of your videos and they are very well organized, pretty simple to understand and really fun!!! I am trying to learn Marie Fredriksson's lyrics in Swedish and, consequently, I have really come to love Swedish as a language!! It has a very musical sound and this works very well in songs, which not every language succeeds at!! So far, I have learnt a song titled "Medan Tiden är Inne", of which I have memorized the Swedish words and the English translation and your videos have helped me expand on what I have learnt with this first attempt!! Another one that I'm working on is the very famous "Sommartider" from Gyllene Tider and again, learning the lyrics and then watching your videos is a very fun way to practice!! AN IMPORTANT NOTE ON THIS VIDEO: in Italian, the word "fika" (pronounced in the exact same way) has a TERRIBLY different meaning!!! 😅 I burst out in laughter when I first heard you pronounce it because it caught me by surprise!!! I'm sure there are Italian words with an identical sound that can be misunderstood in Swedish too, which is normal in practically every language!! You probably already knew this curiosity if you have Italian friends or contacts, but I write it again just in case you didn't know it and wanted to have a laugh (and I think someone else who knows Italian will notice it too)!! However, thanks for your videos and for the way they introduce newbies like myself to Sweden and its very interesting language and culture!!! Best greetings from Northern Italy!!! 😊

Hey, new learner here 💖 I love the way you use memes and funny pictures etc to convey ideas and examples, it makes learning fun, memorable and easy. Thank you and Keep up the good work 💙
Fascinating video Daniella. I felt quite at home. In England, many of us are quite reserved, but not at all anti-social. Everything you talked about could easily apply to us. 😃
Jag är Kroatisk och i Kroatien, det är lätt att hitta vänner eftersom vi är ett avslappnat folk, men jag har inte många utlänningar som vänner eftersom jag bor i en liten stad.
I just learned how much I learned behaviours from my Swedish mother in this one.😂 but I am learned the interruption to show enthusiasm from my English father. Definitely a habit that is misunderstood by lots of non Swedes too😢 . This was a very good video with excellent advice. 😊
I'm moving to Stockholm in January after 5 years living in Portugal... I have hope to make real friends in Sweden and learn everything about culture and history...and also I want to learn how to play hockey 🥶😎 I'm so grateful for your videos 🙏🙂
Well, if you start by watching this video, then you are in the right path to getting some Swedish friends already! 😊 Being proactive is very important 😁. PS: Happy to hear you enjoy our videos! 😍
I´m studying Swedish and I want to study in Sweden in the future, so I hope I get to make friends. Also, as an Argentinian, what you say about punctuality is absolutely accurate 😂
Gracias por tu comentario y por confirmar que lo que decimos de los Argentinos no es 100 % incorrecto 😂. Suerte con tus futuros planes para venir a Suecia. Seguro que no tendrás problemas para conseguir kompisar aca.
Thanks for the video 👏🏻 so informative and funny. As a Chilean living in in Sweden for almost 5 years I have to say that it’s been particularly hard to make locals friends here. So different to South America where you talk to everyone and make friends even while waiting for the bus. I have been inside all of my neighbors homes in Chile and here living 5 years I haven’t come in any of my neighbors apartments. That was really hard to believe. But as I spend more time here I’m becoming more and more Swedish that I even look through the peekhole before I get out of home 😂 so I don’t meet anyone (who really do not want to meet me either 😅)
Actually on an English course I asked a Chinese girl that I was communicating a lot with if she’d like to have fika sometimes or something and the said… “No” 😂and that’s all she said. 🤷♀️
My opinion as a Swede is that most Swedes only want to have friends who are like themselves. A couple with small children only want friends in their own age with small children for example
I am Italian and I think the "Swedish cold and reserved" is only a group of people from the Stockholm area. I lived in Stockholm for 6 months and I was struggling to make friends. After Stockholm, I moved to Gothenburg and I made my first friend after one week, and after three months I had a big group of Swedish friends. And we still are after 3 years :) Swedish people are very social and very empathic. They are very talkative and loud (more than Mediterranean people). I always felt at home here in Gothenburg. I think it is just about stereotypes! Are Swedish people cold and reserved? No, only Stockholm people. Are Italian people warm and open? No, only people from Naples.
Oh! Happy to hear you liked it. We (the Fun Swedish team) are going to Japan in spring and we are so excited about it 🥰 Will be interesting to see our similarities.

And I would like to say, maybe I am lucky one, but most people I met in my job in Sweden or in other places are extremelly friendly and supportive❤️
Thanks for sharing your experience ❤ So happy to hear about it. What a great idea to join Kompis Sverige. I hope a lot of people who want Swedish friends see this comment.
Actually, I do tend to make friends with foreigners more than most people; partly because I'm interested in other cultures and like meeting people with a different experience or perspective than the one of grown up with, but also because I tend to feel like an outsider in the world in a general sort of way, so I'm empathetic towards people who feel like that for whatever reason. But, being on the other side of it now that I occassionally have the opportunity to travel internationally, I feel very awkward BEING the foreigner in a social interaction because I'm not 100% sure what is expected of me and wary of unknowingly violating some social code I'm not familiar with.
Funny enough, I used to actually be exacty like you describe Swedes to be. But I had to step out of my comfort zone and be more extroverted and (impolite) to fit in where I live funny enough 😂😂. So I think I might fit in but it gonna take some work to learn back old habbits😂😂 Thanks for the video, as always verry helpfull amd entertaining 🫶🙌
Oh man, Swiss and Swedish people seem so similar :D! Except that the Swedish seem more approachable than the Swiss, because here it usually goes like this: Guy: "How do I make friends here?" Me: "You don't."
Haha, that is very interesting! Especially since a lot of people mix us up :) However, the few Swiss people I have met where really nice and friendly. Are you Swiss yourself?
@@FunSwedish Hej hej! Yes, I'm Swiss myself :D! I think the anti-social behaviour of Swiss people has improved with younger generations, thankfully :). I'm glad you only met friendly Swiss, there's definitely glacial Swiss as well haha!
As an Autistic person, this all sounds like a perfect dream, the social rules (at least here in Australia) are often so backwards to my highly logical mind, so the Swedish norms actually sound like a perfect world for me.

My statement might upset some people, but here it is. "Diskutering" Is a way to avoid difficult subject, like for instance failed Swedish immigration policy, unfortunately similar behavior has been adopted here in Finland. In my opinion problems should be solved not discussed about indefinitely.
