Delirium of time

The video-performance “Delírio do Tempo” [Time Delirium] by visual artist Ana Coutinho seeks to create a moment of contemplation and deceleration, inviting the audience to follow the development of two paintings on distinct supports, accompanied by the classical music of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB) and a narration to guide this journey. Like a story that is told and retold, and through a poetic language, the work advocates delicateness and dreaming, while enacting the movements of destruction and reconstruction, of beginning and beginning again, which we constantly experience having to rescue the non-negotiable and reach for the impossible. In her research, the artist engages with various ways to materialize the passage of time, creating records and experiences that sharpen the perception of this passage, and that value attention and presence.
