    I really hope co-op is good in stormgate. Because sc2 co-op is to this day one of my favorite things to play.

      I think given the teams background (it appears like there are more hires from the WC3 team than SC2) coop modes and the campaign are probably going to be the biggest successes in Stormgate.

      @@2639theboss Yeah which is the only reason I have any hope for it. I have played A LOT of RTS games and games with similar modes but none stand up to it not even close. So I have hope for this.
      My biggest hope is that Hero's won't be so similar to base factions, I doubt they will. But it would be a shame if each one is more or less the base faction plus a Hero unit. I

      @@spoon1710 I mean i think theres plenty of reasons to have hope for it. The modability is something that hasnt existed in RTS since WC3, if something is lacking in the core gameplay modders will have the tools to add it.

    As you probably learned by now, Co-op heroes are variations of their base faction. Pretty interesting! With regular Vanguard, Lancers are their most basic infantry, and Exos require a tech structure and cost 100/25. Blockade gets Guardsmen instead of Exos, they only cost 50/0 and are his most basic unit. He gets Crusaders instead of Lancers, which are stronger. Even his Combat Medics are tougher than regular MedTechs.
    Most of Blockade's tech tree is the same as baseline Vanguard, but I expect that to change as the heroes are developed more.
    Absolutely stoked for Stormgate's co-op. It's the thing I'm most excited for with this game. Thanks for showing off some co-op footage! Hope you're able to share more games!

    I like the soft time limit of the caravans. It felt really bad losing in SC2 coop on time. Losing to a failed objective might feel like you could have won with different decisions, and not just more efficiency or speed.

    Looking good! I m looking forward to get my friends on this bc they have found SC2 learning curve too steep to join me in coop.
    Also I hope aggro waves don't end up spawning when you clear a base like in SC2, it would be a bit more rewarding ^^' and it looked like it in this mission

    I believe unit veterancy is meant to replace attack/armor upgrades. To add an emphasis on unit conservation as opposed to "rushing" upgrades.

    Is this coop more like sc2 coop missions or like coop pve wc3 maps?

    I loved SC2 coop especially the wacky mission types the but the missions got a bit repetitive after playing a lot and there was no emphasis on normal gameplay where you expand a lot, build many structures etc... now with this stormgate coop mode its great as it scratches that normal skirmish but coop itch, so I really hope they hold onto it but also try to do more coop mission modes with whacky stuff like SC2 had in terms of mission designs.
    when it comes to quirks of coop commanders like in SC2.... i dunno i'm undecided on that so its not a factor on what I've meant above 👆

    I think it’s kind of punishing for players not in VC to have two separate objectives on the map at the same time - the teamwork required to hit both might be hard to muster for three random players. In StarCraft, I recall most maps having one objective or group of objectives existing on the map at a time. With two objectives and three armies, dividing the right amount of units to take both down might be frustrating for solo queue players.
    I do love most of the coop mode though! Especially the dual objectives - stop the caravans AND kill the enemy base.

      I'm not sure how much the third player element will complicate things (two objectives divided among three players might get weird in how those objectives are balanced), but at two players it's not that bad in SC2 already, bonus objectives divide players frequently and it works out fine. I play at brutal most of the time though where the players generally have at *least* one brain cell.

      @@quickdraw6893 I still think it might be an issue due to the time-sensitive nature of the caravans. But you're probably right, SC2 coop bonus objectives usually go fine for me too!

    In my opinion they need more units. It seems like it's the same 3 unit types fighting in all the videos I've seen.

    I really don't like the design choice for the game... It looks like something along the lines of Fortnite? On the other hand the sound design seems terrific.

      It is kind of funny to see those somewhat fortnight looking characters explode into massive pools of blood though.

      I don't think that's necessarily a problem, the best RTS games have very identifiable units, and I think the units here are very discernible

      @@voidreact I don't necessarily mean the units - those are actually OK I think. It's the UI, the unit portrait animations etc. that are kind of off-putting for my personal taste

    I dont know... at first i was hyped for this new RTS. But honestly, based on what i have seen so far it look like piece of cartoony shit TBH. Maybe its because its alpha IDK. Hope it will be much better on release.

    This hero stuff is garbage, a complete turn off. I was hoping for a classic RTS game play and there is the garbage hero stuff again, that sucks so badly in SC2 CO-OP.
    I DON'T NEED UNITS, I HAVE TYCHUS-LONE WOLF AND YOU SUCK!!!!! - GET OUT OF MY WAY, I DON'T NEED YOU
    Some of these commanders encourage to play without basic units due to their damage potential and survivability (Karrigan, Dehaka, Zeratul, Alarak (death fleet), Super Gerry, Fenix, and Nova for the narcists). It's taking the fun out of the basic RTS where resource and unit management is important.
