Definitely working my way up there! And thank you so much! I’m definitely doing what I can to keep increasing the quality! 😁 If you have any further thoughts, definitely let me know! ❤️
If that stuff grows, there’s only so much strength one can have before it overpowers you and grows straight out of your gut. It’s too specific of an element (*badumtsh*) for it not to be taken into account 😂
We don’t have any proof that that’s the case, and even then enzymes can only do so much even in our world. These are still crystals that can grow. So yeah, sorry, but I don’t buy that, cause otherwise the digestive track of these folks ought to be enough to eat freaking rocks 🤣
I'm not really sure that wood would help with structure if you have earth benders throwing rocks around... Also, I feel like earth benders not flying around on rocks may have something to do with the fact that when they do so, the rock wouldn't be moving relative to them. Same would go for flying around on ice. It would work in the water, since you'd be moving the water, not the ice.
Well if they are throwing rocks around, it depends how big and hard said rocks are. But either way there would be issues like this all around. At least throwing rocks around would also be illegal, in my mind, unless there would be specific reasons for it. If you were to govern an Earth Kingdom town, for example, what would be easier? Have houses made of Earth and rock and some could have the chance to accidentally disrupt some parts of it even if no one is actively fighting, or tell everyone to limit earthbending (including throwing rocks) but at least the wooden houses wouldn’t be influenced either way? Also, fair point about the rocks and benders not having the same momentum, but considering they can shape them as they please, they can put either specific seats so that they will hold still while on said rocks, or (as said in the video) put rock handles. It’s the same issue with motorcycles or electric skateboards. They’re designed to have at least some way for you to hold on and not necessarily fall off
This is a reallyy good video, Very interesting, so much work and research went into it and you can tell I just want to mention something, I think that maybe there are a few reasons why the Earth kingdom’s architecture and politics are they way that they are 1. They have earth benders, who are the ones who hold the highest “social standing ” if you will, they would usually put things more to their advantage than for the none benders 2. The buildings being made out of rock make sense in the sense that materials and expertise would cost more otherwise, what I mean is that, the earth kingdom doesn’t seem to have the richest population, so is not like they can afford exportation specially during war times- oops forgot, there’s no war in Bah Sin Seh, the more expert earth benders would most definitely need to be paid for their job which can be expensive, not to mention is easier for them (benders) to just rebuild everything after they destroy something, is it unfair and very rudimentary? Yeah but I think that’s the point, to show how social inequality has affected them, just like the war, and impacted their growth In a way the Earth kingdom hasn’t developed better ways just yet since their social hierarchy hasn’t allowed it Let me put it this way, before they used to have very different ways to build house in real life, with time technology developed and they were able to do it better, they’re still in that stage of finding the better way I just wanted to point this out but like I said before I really liked the video, the additions are very interesting too 🫶🏻 Pd: sorry is so long
No worries at all about the length lol Also, interesting points! Although I should point out that the idea of it being by a social status is… only sort of true. Plenty of benders are poor, whereas plenty of non benders are elite (correct me if I’m wrong, but even the Bei Fong family - Toph’s parents - are non benders and yet they’re among the richest families in all the Earth Kingdom). Which in and of itself also doesn’t make sense because, let’s face it, bending isn’t about status or wealth. It’s about literal power. And… well, stick around for future videos cause I will be going very much in depth with that 😏 Oh and btw, I don’t think they have repairing abilities with their bending. Bending is about modifying and shifting an element to your will, but a tear, crack or more would imply that they’d have to repair it on all almost molecular level. Not saying they can never fix, only that damaged would require getting down and actually making new building techniques like plaster and such much more similarly to our real world
Subbed, watching ATLA season 3 rn for the 6th time in my life, then gonna watch LOK for the 2nd, (been binging other shows, and life, lol), excited to actually watch the show again, I don't get the hate that LOK gets, it's absolutely brilliant and for me, equal in greatness of the OG series, of course the OG is my number 1 show of all time, but, Korra is number 2.💯🤓
It depends on what the hate is about, because if it’s certain plot elements then yeah, Korra definitely has some issues, and even Korra herself has an uneven character development (due to production issues). However there are objectively very good moments in it (and the animation is top notch, no arguments there). It really depends on what element people talk about. Although yeah, the OG still remains objectively the best one on every level that isn’t animation 😂 Also thank you for the sub! 😁
Thank you! And yeah, I highly recommend the first one because there’s even more info, frankly. And also, stay tuned, cause there’s a loooot more videos coming up about this franchise in the coming months 😉😎
Ah, the earthbenders and earthkindom... My abolute favourites! I remember that when i was a child i always wanted to be an earthbender and after watching the show i always stomped with my feet on the ground and tried to "awaken" my earthbending-powers. Good times. Hehehehe. (And this is another good argument why children should not have such powers and if they had, they should not just be treated completly normal! In the world of Avatar i could have destroyed the house without thinking...) Okay, but besides the nostalgia: The earthkingdom and its people were in my opinion always the most diverse and thought through part in the Worldbuilding of Avatar! This was probably mostly because the most part of the show was centered around this part of the world, so this makes pretty much sense. I found it interessting to see what kind of creative ideas you would put into expanding the worldbuilding! The flying was a thing, that i never understood why it does not work in the story (maybe they just needed to "nerf" the elements to make the Benders not to overpowered?) and i also liked the jobideas... I think it makes sense to think of this system with architects, but to be honest i really like how the places are constructed in the story and so i will still advocate for the legendary "rule of cool" - still liked the ideas! Especially the part with not bending the ground. Jennamite-crystals were always something that i found just weird... So i really like how you were able to better this concept. Oh, and i would love to hear about the nonbenders! There is so much interesting dynamics and worldbuilding one could speak of when it comes to the societies, cultures, individual lifes and so on in a world with people, who have a "supernatural" power (could not find a better word) and people who dont.
Oh yeah, kids should DEFINITELY not have powers of any sort, unless they're weaker than the ones of adults, or it would be a nightmare lol. And glad to hear you like Earthbending the most! I used to want to be a Firebender, but as of late I've grown to appreciate Airbending more, truth me told :) Yes, the Earth Kingdom is the one where they seem to have put the most thought, all things considered, while simultaneously having the safety net of being the "most similar to our world" so they don't necessarily have to try as hard. But they still could have gone the extra mile, yeah, such as for the rock surfing, which (despite what many have said on the new Instagram page for this channel) should be very plausible indeed. Indeed, architecture would be the most important subject earthbenders could learn, or at the very least physics, because they can't afford to make mistakes indoors or even outdoors when it comes to their own buildings Jennamite Crystals reeeeeeally needed a re-retcon, yeah, cause they're far too big of an element to throw away and forget about. Either the show should have been much simpler for us to go "eh well, it's a kid's show, it's not that important, we can just lower our standards", but ironically it became SO good that it can't not be criticised for its low parts anymore, lol. So yeah, either it shouldn't have been introduced at all, or if they did, I figured this would be the best implement. And even THEN... there will be one more thing to say about them in future videos ;) As for the Non-Benders... well... let's just say, keep an eye out for the next couple of weeks or so 😏😉
Stomach acid nutralizes the crystal growth. It doesn't grow so fast that you couldn't chew it and swallow it, thereby neutralizing it before it starts growing.
That’s some wild stomach acid there, man. That stuff can digest food easily enough, but I doubt it would dissolve something like crystals faster than they can grow, and there has never been any evidence that the people of this world have a particular digestive track that’s different from ours 😂
You assume a lot, don’t you?! I NEVER said it would dissolve the crystal. I said it would neutralize it. Making its growth stop. And it’s just a suggestion or idea. Don’t come here with your bull shit like the stomach acid HAS to completely dissolve the crystal to stop it. Have you taken any chemistry classes?!?! Chemicals, like acid, can do some wild stuff. But again, It’s not canon, just my idea. At least I don’t insist that firebenders have ANY control over lava 👀 Also, they don’t grow THAT fast. Sokka and katara were only fully enveloped after the first and second trials. Just cuz the episode happened quickly doesn’t mean you can ignore how long the trials and time inbetween would take. You assume a lot dude.
Chill out dude, that wasn’t an insult or a diss or anything, this is just chatting and speculation 🤣 Yes, of course I’m assuming, because this is just theorising. Plus different materials dissolve at different speeds, and since these are pretty particular, maybe it’s possible that they take longer to dissolve or even stop the growth if you use stomach acid. But even then, I don’t know, so yes, of course I’m assuming. So take it easy, it’s all good lol
I know, right? ❤️ It truly is an incredible artform of its own that ought to be appreciated more and more (and, thankfully, actually is being appreciated more over time). It’s so damn fun to speculate and ponder on these things!
Yeah but I have my strong doubts that they can corrode crystals, especially when they regrow, so I don’t think that counts. Otherwise they’d be able to eat literal rocks 🤣
Yes, because it’s tipped over by the fact that these rocks grow very fast. Faster than a body can digest. So either they just don’t grow upon contact with organic material, or they have to grow at such a snail pace that the corrosion is outrun by the digestion. One of these things can be fast enough to allow the body to survive. The other cannot
Very nice part 2, editing is fun and entertaining, I wish this channel reached more people
Definitely working my way up there! And thank you so much! I’m definitely doing what I can to keep increasing the quality! 😁

17:38 I'm just going to headcanon this as King Bumi being a strong enough earhtbender to be able to digest it fully.
If that stuff grows, there’s only so much strength one can have before it overpowers you and grows straight out of your gut. It’s too specific of an element (*badumtsh*) for it not to be taken into account 😂
