I don't think anyone actually believes people are leaving cs for good, people like myself and all of my friends are just fed up with the horrible state it's in. I'm keeping all my skins for the day they release the operation, fix the subtick issues, fix the ranking system, give me back cache, hopefully add more than one achievement to go for, and fix the stutter issues so my brother can play again, because I still have faith in valve and think they'll fix it eventually, I just couldn't be bothered to subject myself to it while I wait. I played CS:GO up until the day CS2 released and was even playing almost daily before the cs2 beta announced.

8:20 I was just a cs1.6 player, never played csgo until I heard about danger zone, I was fascinated how good this gamemode was. I am one of the very few that joined the game for danger zone and for many months when I started I kept playing danger zone only.. whenever I tell this to anyone they would laugh and yeah its still my most fav mode of CSGO (early 2020 I started)
Yeah, Danger Zone was very fun to play, even though I didn't play it that much. A very fun casual and fast-pased Battle Royale gamemode. It sucks that despite you are able to still play CS:GO, they have disabled the official matchmaking. I hope that there are CS:GO community servers hosting Danger Zone.
They 100% are going to add it back to CS2. Its just that the dangerzone maps are MASSIVE and with CS2's graphics they lag a lot. I heard they are trying to optimize them

People with low end PCs can't play now. I used to get 80-100 fps in CSGO but now I am hardly getting 40 fps on the lowest setting and the game sometimes crashes in between matches that's why I completely stopped playing. I think there are many people like me who are not playing due to this very reason
aussiejacko here 🤣 when you started searching up the speedrun website i was like “uh oh…” but tbh, it was actually a really fun challenge - and also like you said, for me it was a good way to take a break from competitive while still enjoying CS in another form. It’s been so sad seeing how much is missing from the CS2 release 😢
Player count went down so much because they forced players who have played cs:go for a decade to all play in silver elo premium matchmaking. The ones that stayed to grind premium games and get to high elo were greeted with cheaters every game.
Have to take in account how many players left because the lack of content with other game modes, community servers, and the simple fact that a decent portion of the total player base can’t even play the game because the game no longer runs well compared to csgo which would run on almost everything.
I was getting frustrated with comp and premier and started playing less but I went back to play hostage casual and I’m reminded why I’ve played the game 15+ years.
Yeah, I totally agree with most of these points. I would love a new operation, and I think both me and my team play alot less then we used to. I think the cheaters where a bit less prominent after the first big ban wave, but it seems like they are back to the point where you can notice it in like 2 out of 5 games if you know what to look for. I hope they bring the focus more over to add content to the game and removing the actual cheaters in an efficient way

I haven't played since Source. I miss the huge pub player count and the camaraderie of CAL Main, the custom maps and the modded game modes even going as far back as the Warcraft mod in 1.6. And the custom skins you could install for your screen only. CS2 does feel more modern and polished. It also feels so much more commercial.
I mean technically it was avaible in csgo and cs source through community maps but valve decided to start hiding these server in obscure parts of the menu. 90% of these servers are gone in cs2 or just don't work anymore. Surf is broken bhop doesn't feel the same and things like zombie fortress is still being worked on thats why I mostly join TF2 for these kinds of servers that I would look for in cs

I play on community server to avoid bots and to enjoy a more casual setting. And sometimes I join the surf and bhop servers since csgo is gone and cs2 still doesn't have many bhop/surf servers
in my opinion its gonna be like with every release of counter strike. When souce came out people was skeptic, when csgo came out tournaments and people was still playing css until csgo was playable
if you all be honest a lot of players played to uprank their acc´s..now we got so much different rank´s on each map, elo points in premium...i would say..lets make 1 rank for all maps in matchmaking + the elo points in premium mode.
well my old pc couldnt run the game anymore since the update and it no longer supported my Mac... plus all the cheaters and bad MM... it was just random at some point. also some game modes are gone, some incredible maps like train is gone, and stats for different gun's performance and strength weakness is gone. not even mad about sub tick cause I feel that is just part of the evolution, but the rest is just a shame.
The games stutter issue is so unbelievably annoying and i want it to be fixed asap, i have good internet speeds and my ping in game is fine but during the day if i try to que alone my game stutters but if i play later in the night or with a friend the game runs fine with no stuttering
For some reason in CS2 I only play casual hostage mode and I am having a blast 😁👌This game focuses too much on the competitive side while the fun modes are actually the best IMO 👍
I used to play the gamemode where you get a kill and gets the next weapon next round as im a casual and pretty bad at the game but with them removing that I just don't even wanna play. The amount of just full on walking 1 taps is crazy to me. Ill be watching a door and the guy would be full movement running and 1 tap me with .5 seconds to react in 1k elo bottom of the barrel which makes me think theres some ping issues but my ping is 20 so not sure. Just really turns me off to it all and what I used to know which was a great game.
The game isn't dying for good. And that's great because i'm actually new to the game and since people are leaving now, prices are dropping and giving me a realistic entry into collecting. Once players come back i might even be able to make profit
Hab letztes Jahr das erste mal csgo gezockt und an sich auch das erste mal am PC. Ich war dogshit aber mir hat's gefallen. Ich konnte nie die ganze Vielfalt von csgo ausprobieren bzw. erleben. Als cs2 raus kam hatte ich einfach weiter gezockt die ganzen negativen Dinge sind mir persönlich nicht wirklich aufgefallen, weshalb ich immernoch sehr viel zocke und auch sagen würde das ich es mittlerweile, da ich auch etwas besser geworden bin, deutlich mehr zocke als csgo. Ich glaube nicht daß cs2 sterben wird.
Just yesterday I played a lobby with a squad of 4 players. We lost. Then I joined another game on a different map after waiting 5 minutes, then got the exact 4 people on my team... How few people are playing??? Plus, the waiting times are insane. 6 minutes fir a Mirage match is insane.
Lel where do you play? I can play every single map and iam not waiting more then 1 minute. Also never meet same player again. 60+ hours on cs2 in a span of 3 weeks.
So glad i sold my knife immediately after cs2 release. After i didnt see that jump in the market people were talking about during beta it felt like the writing was on the walls.
i think one of the main issue that wasnt mention in this video is Comunity servers and workshop maps, yes i know they recently added it to CS2 but its basically a bare bones version of it. i can confidently say a good portion of CS player base are mainly people playing Surf/bhop/etc players on the community servers. taking that away removes a lot of players. PS: i miss the adventure maps on the CSGO workshop, killing a dragon with an AK at 3am with friends is a core memory

no one is counting the case drop change and the fact people are no longer afking for cases or bot 5v5 for cases. this will bring down alot of the farmers along with new players trying it and leaving+ the addition of MW3 although its not doing great either
A lot of maps and gamemodes are / was implemented , but they artifical removed them ,to set a focus of main game fixing. Dev Team from CS:GO is below 20 people. A lot Gamemodes will be comming in the Unknonw Future , also New Knife too and New Operation Case is in Plan. And Cache map will soon back too.
I have been playing the game much more, i do think the awp feels a little weird, also miss a few maps from the game, i do run into at least one cheater each/every other game and they always drop 30+kills while their mates have like 4-8. Also hit reg seems a little weird too especially when around a corner and still die. Anyways i still do enjoy the game every much
I don’t play much cs but one thing that kinda drove me away is the fact I was playing at a high-er level being global elite. In CS2 I am in silver elite and nearly drop 40+kills every game but it’s like the system gives me no elo. The other game mode is also just weird because same thing. I feel like I have to try really hard to even have a chance at winning. I have to drop 40 plus kills in every game to have a chance at winning vs before I could rely on teammates and it felt like I ranked up at an even rate. People in my lobbies either say I’m cheating or “why am I in this elo”and I just say it’s the games fault. CS2 is hindering better players ability to rank up drastically. I am a high elo Val player but played cs2 when im bored and can’t even enjoy winning in silver elo even though the enemy team is literally AI.
Not to mention the AK spray is now atrocious and there are many visual movement glitches. Via i now aim towards the back of the head vs shooting the front of the head. Overall, ranking system, anti cheat, ak spray, visuals not being accurate is why it drives me away personally. Curious if anyone agrees
The notorious issues of solo quieing and getting trash teammates somehow managed to get worse. Like 4 matches out of 5 I get 4 teammates that don't even talk, like at all, this is in EU. Makes the game not only boring but also significantly harder since it's supposed to be a team game, this was happening in CS:GO as well but it wasn't THIS bad, I didn't know it could get this much worse. So unless you're playing with friends on Discord, CS is just boring and not enjoyable right now.
I joined csgo very late, I think about 2 months before cs2 came out. I really enjoyed csgo even though i was pretty bad but the game felt smooth and seamless. I updated to cs2 and initially was impressed but now the issues like constant stuttering, sub-tick update which created more problems than it tried to fix, absolutely atrocious hit reg and the absolutely atrocious amount of cheaters. Another annoying detail that cs2 removed was the local agents, the sas agent is so easy to miss in dark spots like on nuke or dust, and boost contrast does not help. The T side default agent is the exact opposite being extremely easy to spot in practically all maps.
Then you should join Asia server and see how many Chinese cheater here, I suffering every day with those c0cksucker from competitive and casual and yet non of them getting ban or anything, and at this point I like other left the game and wait until this pile of shjt getting better then I coming back for it, but now, I rather play battlefield 2042 and mw3 than hack2

how isnt anyone talking about the model ghost bug? happened to me yesterday on mirage, i was on ct buy round, 15secs in the round, i was standing at default, ghost ct was doing laps around the tri box, then dissappeared into the wall, everyone on the server saw it. this is game breaking, as the T's were shooting the model from a ramp
I only play premier. Overall, I play a lot more than I did before, just because I had stopped because csgo's mm was the most toxic experience I ever had. There's still toxicity, but now that I'm playing more, I'm playing better
Stopped playing cause of the community I was put in. Would be just starting but playing with 5 to ten year veterans who just sucked but always complained and I was new. I was having fun but then every game I just kept on getting abused cause I didn’t know line ups or tricks. Was just trying to have a fun and have a good time. People just ruined it for me
It happened with me when I played valorant . I was iron and got matched with platinum. They were so mad at me . I completely said bye bye to that game . Never played it again
I played csgo and cs2 and I'll say that the cheaters in csgo were much less obvious. Wallhacks and spinbots yes, but in cs2 its always just instant scout headshots at the beginning of the round. Every single time. There were some obvious cheaters in csgo, but the blatant cheating in cs2 is insane.
The people that had early access were supposed to be testing the game and reporting issues, I’d like to know which ones actually did this, valve could have delayed the game but everyone would have complained, they were in a lose lose situation
the game may be at an all time low but the monthly player count is still currently well above average. The current monthly player count on average as of December 2023 is around 730,000, which is actually quite good considering pre 2023 only 5 months of GO's 10+ years had a monthly player count average above 730,000. There are still many many new players coming into cs2 for the very first time, and it's only natural that they won't stick around for too long, considering the state of the game and how difficult counter strike can be as a game itself.
The MMR/Elo difference is not there, here I sat at 8k, played against a full stack of 10k+ and winning the match gave me 108, and losing had me lose 304 (aproximately) so no, I dont think it actually matters and I dont think the win/lose streak counts that much either as I have had the same weird point gain/deduction when both on a 5 match winstreak and a 5 match lose streak
The hits that appeared to be missing/ hitting when they were not were patched most recently. Let’s not destroy ourselves.. There definitely are problems but the community won’t thrive with negative waffling. Cons 1. Missing content *missing maps, and they are old 2. New content *skins are in shambles because of new shading and lack new operations and/or cases *game tailored mostly for full parties (such as premiere) 3. Malicious Hackers/ modders I think CS will be good as long as the community doesn’t self destruct.🥂
For me matchmaking system here in as or southeast asia just leads to some Chinese servers with like 80+ ping, sometimes it even goes up to 120+, it just horrible. And problem with all chinese people is they dont even try to speak english. It is so hard to communicate and play normally.
CSGO feels crisp, accurate, and fast, while CS2 feels super inaccurate, recoil is a mess in all weapons, slow. They should not have left CSGO until CS2 was really finished. I can really tell the difference because when I play on CSGO I pick up an ak and I am super accurate, I can spray in the distance and be 99% accurate, while in CS2, a little spray with the ak feels like shit, can't do more than 3 shots without the recoil going to Mars.
I just wish the community servers, it was fun to play 1v1 and so on, I got back to CS 1.6 after 12 years because of this, and there I play in a CS:GO mod server. KEKW
If there was operation for 3months and changing to another every time it will be more played and if they also fix everything that would be also more playable
25:16 I disagree, I think the average casual goes based off hype and what happens. If csgo, pubg, etc has a massive update, something interesting is happening, their natural player base that plays less often gets, on they get their friends on, and it brings the general player base back because they’re free to play, all u do is redownload the 25gbs and play with ur friends. And if valve does actually fix the game and do something hype with a big update or game mode release etc, and the player base comes back to try, if they did good enough, some will stay again. Valve owns steam and CS. This for them to get word out and for them to have their players return from other games to theirs isn’t too difficult when they own the platform where these people have almost their entire game libraries
Played 7 premier games yesterday, 3 of those games had obvious wall hackers that didn't even try to hide it (confirmed by watching the demos), 2 games had very suspicious players that were either wall hacking or smurfing but were way better at hiding it and the rest of the games were just normal "fair" games! I can understand getting in a game with someone who is cheating but 3-5 games in one day in the span of a few hours is unacceptable for a game as huge as counter strike.
It was the smhmae in csgo. That's why I quit the first iteration of the game. People only realizing now how many hackers there are in this game is hilarious.
No one with skin in the game will be very hard to leave for good. I put all my skins up for sale some of them i have had over 10 years and worth fair amount, CS2 big let down for me and play alot less, looking for replacement and there's no way im going back to COD.
well for me i have a skin for every gun that i use and i bought all those skins so now and then i play but i defintley play less...i really wish they could just bring back csgo or realse csgo and cs2 as their own game like they did with css and cs...though i play less...also i have this stupid thing happening with me where if i play online like casual or COMP then my game freezes mid game...like ive checked solutions and tried them nothing worked and its so anoying bc i cant really rank up anymore also i have to play on shit graphics and low resolution now bc of my weak pc but funny thing is the fucking game doesnt crash or freeze when i play with bots....also if the game freeze then i should littarly restart my pc i cant open task manerger or anything...like i can alt and tab or ctrl alt and delete and open task maneger but as soon as i do something like press windows key then the screen goes black for cs2 but the windows thing and hotbar and stuff comes up and the crtl alt and delete thing comes up but litterly cant open anything or do anything exept to restart,shutdown or put my pc in sleep mode...so i really hate cs2 for that otherwise i might have still played it but bc of this things being so fucked i barely play now....one of my friends quite cs2 well actually i know 2 people who quite cs2 and 1 who barely plays now....i keep saying for all my vriends that cs2 really isnt in the release state and we all keep agreeing to it bc its true...
When it show that you are supposed to win small amount of elo is because its more likly your team to win. Probably the other team has high elo to fight for. The opposite is right too :) I played with people 15 000+ and I was 6 000 at that time and I had a match with 900 elo +

Watch CS come with a few updates, and at some point drop a Operation. The game will break new heights in all aspects again.
There is a major in march (i think) so im pretty sure they are gonna have the game in good state before that and after that an operation

Why do valve talk up the new sky boxes but don’t even drop a better danger zone with no fog
i actually stopped playing CS with the release of GO. Then a few years later got back into it because of roommate.

i think one of the main issue that wasnt mention in this video is Comunity servers and workshop maps, yes i know they recently added it to CS2 but its basically a bare bones version of it. i can confidently say a good portion of CS player base are mainly people playing Surf/bhop/etc players on the community servers. taking that away removes a lot of players.
PS: i miss the adventure maps on the CSGO workshop, killing a dragon with an AK at 3am with friends is a core memory

no one is counting the case drop change and the fact people are no longer afking for cases or bot 5v5 for cases. this will bring down alot of the farmers along with new players trying it and leaving+ the addition of MW3 although its not doing great either

A lot of maps and gamemodes are / was implemented , but they artifical removed them ,to set a focus of main game fixing. Dev Team from CS:GO is below 20 people.
A lot Gamemodes will be comming in the Unknonw Future , also New Knife too and New Operation Case is in Plan.
And Cache map will soon back too.

I have been playing the game much more, i do think the awp feels a little weird, also miss a few maps from the game, i do run into at least one cheater each/every other game and they always drop 30+kills while their mates have like 4-8. Also hit reg seems a little weird too especially when around a corner and still die. Anyways i still do enjoy the game every much

I don’t play much cs but one thing that kinda drove me away is the fact I was playing at a high-er level being global elite. In CS2 I am in silver elite and nearly drop 40+kills every game but it’s like the system gives me no elo. The other game mode is also just weird because same thing. I feel like I have to try really hard to even have a chance at winning. I have to drop 40 plus kills in every game to have a chance at winning vs before I could rely on teammates and it felt like I ranked up at an even rate. People in my lobbies either say I’m cheating or “why am I in this elo”and I just say it’s the games fault. CS2 is hindering better players ability to rank up drastically. I am a high elo Val player but played cs2 when im bored and can’t even enjoy winning in silver elo even though the enemy team is literally AI.
Not to mention the AK spray is now atrocious and there are many visual movement glitches. Via i now aim towards the back of the head vs shooting the front of the head. Overall, ranking system, anti cheat, ak spray, visuals not being accurate is why it drives me away personally. Curious if anyone agrees
The notorious issues of solo quieing and getting trash teammates somehow managed to get worse. Like 4 matches out of 5 I get 4 teammates that don't even talk, like at all, this is in EU. Makes the game not only boring but also significantly harder since it's supposed to be a team game, this was happening in CS:GO as well but it wasn't THIS bad, I didn't know it could get this much worse. So unless you're playing with friends on Discord, CS is just boring and not enjoyable right now.
I joined csgo very late, I think about 2 months before cs2 came out. I really enjoyed csgo even though i was pretty bad but the game felt smooth and seamless. I updated to cs2 and initially was impressed but now the issues like constant stuttering, sub-tick update which created more problems than it tried to fix, absolutely atrocious hit reg and the absolutely atrocious amount of cheaters. Another annoying detail that cs2 removed was the local agents, the sas agent is so easy to miss in dark spots like on nuke or dust, and boost contrast does not help. The T side default agent is the exact opposite being extremely easy to spot in practically all maps.
I keep playing and hope that the game modes Will return and stuff to be fixed
Honestly, cs2 would be better if they made no changes to the gamemodes and only added premier and all the graphic and engine changes

in australia ive played about 50 or 60 games and ive only had 2 obvious hackers.
Then you should join Asia server and see how many Chinese cheater here, I suffering every day with those c0cksucker from competitive and casual and yet non of them getting ban or anything, and at this point I like other left the game and wait until this pile of shjt getting better then I coming back for it, but now, I rather play battlefield 2042 and mw3 than hack2

how isnt anyone talking about the model ghost bug? happened to me yesterday on mirage, i was on ct buy round, 15secs in the round, i was standing at default, ghost ct was doing laps around the tri box, then dissappeared into the wall, everyone on the server saw it. this is game breaking, as the T's were shooting the model from a ramp
I quit csgo two years ago and came back for Cs2. I’ve been enjoying it and playing a lot.
I only play premier. Overall, I play a lot more than I did before, just because I had stopped because csgo's mm was the most toxic experience I ever had. There's still toxicity, but now that I'm playing more, I'm playing better

Stopped playing cause of the community I was put in. Would be just starting but playing with 5 to ten year veterans who just sucked but always complained and I was new. I was having fun but then every game I just kept on getting abused cause I didn’t know line ups or tricks. Was just trying to have a fun and have a good time. People just ruined it for me
It happened with me when I played valorant . I was iron and got matched with platinum. They were so mad at me . I completely said bye bye to that game . Never played it again
I played csgo and cs2 and I'll say that the cheaters in csgo were much less obvious. Wallhacks and spinbots yes, but in cs2 its always just instant scout headshots at the beginning of the round. Every single time. There were some obvious cheaters in csgo, but the blatant cheating in cs2 is insane.
The people that had early access were supposed to be testing the game and reporting issues, I’d like to know which ones actually did this, valve could have delayed the game but everyone would have complained, they were in a lose lose situation

the game may be at an all time low but the monthly player count is still currently well above average. The current monthly player count on average as of December 2023 is around 730,000, which is actually quite good considering pre 2023 only 5 months of GO's 10+ years had a monthly player count average above 730,000. There are still many many new players coming into cs2 for the very first time, and it's only natural that they won't stick around for too long, considering the state of the game and how difficult counter strike can be as a game itself.

Runs like shit on my laptop where i used to get 180 fps on csgo , now i can barely get 70 ruined it for me
The MMR/Elo difference is not there, here I sat at 8k, played against a full stack of 10k+ and winning the match gave me 108, and losing had me lose 304 (aproximately) so no, I dont think it actually matters and I dont think the win/lose streak counts that much either as I have had the same weird point gain/deduction when both on a 5 match winstreak and a 5 match lose streak

For me matchmaking system here in as or southeast asia just leads to some Chinese servers with like 80+ ping, sometimes it even goes up to 120+, it just horrible. And problem with all chinese people is they dont even try to speak english. It is so hard to communicate and play normally.
CSGO feels crisp, accurate, and fast, while CS2 feels super inaccurate, recoil is a mess in all weapons, slow. They should not have left CSGO until CS2 was really finished. I can really tell the difference because when I play on CSGO I pick up an ak and I am super accurate, I can spray in the distance and be 99% accurate, while in CS2, a little spray with the ak feels like shit, can't do more than 3 shots without the recoil going to Mars.

25:16 I disagree, I think the average casual goes based off hype and what happens. If csgo, pubg, etc has a massive update, something interesting is happening, their natural player base that plays less often gets, on they get their friends on, and it brings the general player base back because they’re free to play, all u do is redownload the 25gbs and play with ur friends. And if valve does actually fix the game and do something hype with a big update or game mode release etc, and the player base comes back to try, if they did good enough, some will stay again.
Valve owns steam and CS. This for them to get word out and for them to have their players return from other games to theirs isn’t too difficult when they own the platform where these people have almost their entire game libraries

Played 7 premier games yesterday, 3 of those games had obvious wall hackers that didn't even try to hide it (confirmed by watching the demos), 2 games had very suspicious players that were either wall hacking or smurfing but were way better at hiding it and the rest of the games were just normal "fair" games! I can understand getting in a game with someone who is cheating but 3-5 games in one day in the span of a few hours is unacceptable for a game as huge as counter strike.
It was the smhmae in csgo. That's why I quit the first iteration of the game. People only realizing now how many hackers there are in this game is hilarious.

No one with skin in the game will be very hard to leave for good. I put all my skins up for sale some of them i have had over 10 years and worth fair amount, CS2 big let down for me and play alot less, looking for replacement and there's no way im going back to COD.
well for me i have a skin for every gun that i use and i bought all those skins so now and then i play but i defintley play less...i really wish they could just bring back csgo or realse csgo and cs2 as their own game like they did with css and cs...though i play less...also i have this stupid thing happening with me where if i play online like casual or COMP then my game freezes mid game...like ive checked solutions and tried them nothing worked and its so anoying bc i cant really rank up anymore also i have to play on shit graphics and low resolution now bc of my weak pc but funny thing is the fucking game doesnt crash or freeze when i play with bots....also if the game freeze then i should littarly restart my pc i cant open task manerger or anything...like i can alt and tab or ctrl alt and delete and open task maneger but as soon as i do something like press windows key then the screen goes black for cs2 but the windows thing and hotbar and stuff comes up and the crtl alt and delete thing comes up but litterly cant open anything or do anything exept to restart,shutdown or put my pc in sleep mode...so i really hate cs2 for that otherwise i might have still played it but bc of this things being so fucked i barely play now....one of my friends quite cs2 well actually i know 2 people who quite cs2 and 1 who barely plays now....i keep saying for all my vriends that cs2 really isnt in the release state and we all keep agreeing to it bc its true...

When it show that you are supposed to win small amount of elo is because its more likly your team to win. Probably the other team has high elo to fight for. The opposite is right too :) I played with people 15 000+ and I was 6 000 at that time and I had a match with 900 elo +
