Thanks for the tour. Now I am hungry. By the way, I am surprised that no one shared with you that the restaurant you visited called Mayrig is translated to Mother. Traditionally the Manti dish is made with the more available lamb not beef and it is also my favorite.

The reason you had trouble finding mante is because it’s a Western Armenian dish and western Armenia is now in Turkey and the western Armenians are scattered across the globe. So the best mante you’re gonna eat is (most probably) gonna be outside of Armenia. Also, what you had at mayrig is not even close to being lahmajun. I don’t know what the hell that was lol. You needed to go to mer taghe (if it even exists anymore, since last time I went was 2008 lol). That said, if I’m not mistaken, Mayrig is the Armenia location of the famous Mayrig restaurant in Lebanon (which is outstanding). I think they franchised it, but it seems the vision behind the flagship Mayrig hasn’t travelled well let’s just say.

By the way, kabab is not khorovats.
Khorovats is a whole pieces of meat(usualy pork) marinated with herbs and spices and cooked on an open fire or iside tonir(where lavash is being baked). Generaly khorovats is kind of an Armenian barbecue.

Manti is a type of dumpling popular in most Turkic cuisines, as well as in the cuisines of the South Caucasus and Balkans, Central Asia, Afghanistan and Chinese Muslims.
It’s popular with Armenian cuisines as well.
mante is from armenia, the reason it's seen as "turkic" is because turkey consumed most of western armenia, which is where its originally from

@@dabbleandtravel I just realized you wanted to say kenac but it sounds very much like gnac. Gnac literally means he went or it went, but we use gnac in a slang way to express the feeling of alcohol going down too smoothly. haha so even if it sounds like gnac it sounds very fun and local.

The reason your vlogs have taken off in eastern europe is because you eat their food. When you traveled in Asian countries, you woud eat pizza, tacos, hamburgers. Glad you found countries that suit your taste buds. It's never a good look when you travel to another country, don't eat the countries food.

Most of these dishes are Turkish dishes. even their names are Turkish. Mantı, dolma, kapama etc. Lahmacun is arabic, lavash is persian.
