Like I been telling people all year they did not need to trade for Westbrook, the Lakers had a championship team last year when they were healthy. 21-6 before the injuries they would’ve easily been the number 1 or 2 seed last year and probably be back to back championship. Westbrook to the Lakers made 0 sense.

It’s crazy to me looking back at the Play-In Tournament vs The Warriors to see how similar the paths for both teams were and what it eventually led to. The Lakers were fresh off the 2020 Championship and looked poised for another championship run. The started off hot but slowly fell apart thanks to injuries. They soon looked like they would possibly miss the playoffs. The Warriors however were the opposite. Fresh off their terrible 2020 season, nobody picked them to even reached playoffs. Yet Curry practically willed this team to keep winning and very much could have been higher seeded had Curry not been injured for most of the season. Now in 2022, the Warriors regained their Elite status again and won the 2022 Finals while the Lakers struggled and missed the playoffs.
I like this 2019 - 2020 roster, this team is the best and unstoppable and they have the complete set of a player they got shooters, defensive and specially playmakers and now I could say it's a bad roster and not balanced...
Im a Lakers fan… but they got humbled this year. They believed that with AD and Bron they can win anything. They were horribly wrong. They won in 2020 because of their defensive team that got stops, steals and ran out in transition, with the right defensive tactic coach. Even last year they were Number 1 in defense despite Bron and AD missing a lot of games due to that defensive core. This year they panicked because of random injuries to their stars and gutted a great defensive minded core for star offensive power and gave that to a defensive coach. That is beyond arrogance from the front office to really believe you can win anything with Bron and AD, now look how bad they are overall because they can’t mesh offensively nor defensively. Some people are getting fired this off-season.
Biggest mistake was trading all the youngins for AD, that 2018-2019 lakers squad had the talent to make it to the western conference finals and even the finals! Too bad all those injuries
Its actually true. He's been there for four seasons and he's been injured in three of them. The one year he didn't pick up an injury, was the bubble season. Before joining the Lakers, he had only missed more than 10 games in a season once.
I think the 2018 season with the Cavs was the tipping point. He tried his best to get the Cavs another ring, played high minutes and all 82 games if I remember correctly to do so. All those miles he put on his legs with no major injuries, feel like it had to catch up at some point. With that much strain at 32, seems it was the point where it caught up to him.
The Problems with that 2020-2021 Lakers team were Chemistry Issues, Roles and Most Importantly Injures. Although right now the lakers have solid Contributing role players but due to management, and coaching they haven't found an answer to their problem yet Mostly because a player gets injured once someone recovers I hope Anthony Davis recovers soon.
Man I love this video already. You really took me back to those post Kobe-era years. We had some good talent looking back and the scouters weren’t so bad at their jobs. The developmental side of this franchise was pretty bad though when Lonzo turned out to be a great PG. We were messed up for giving up on him early Also it’s like no one wants to take responsibility for how bad things got all of a sudden for what was a championship team.

only way you make that happen is shorten the seasons, which they'll never do due to TV contracts. 82 games + playoffs is a ridiculous amount of strain to put on players year after year and expect them to remain healthy.
As a thunder fan, it’s good to see Russ being a great playmaker off the bench and embracing his role. I also hope AD can stay healthy after he comes back and the Lakers can make a playoff run

The Lakers are continuing to fall even further this season. I wonder what would of happened if they kept that young core from 2018 instead shipping them off for AD.
Right after the chip...rob pelinka screwed everything...him dismantling the chip roster was the beginning of the premature end for this contending Window for the lakers A tough pill to swallow...but then again at least there's one chip...oh well At this point if someone says Lakers should rebuild..I'd say "fine"
Pelinka had the best duo in basketball and all he had to do was to surround them with shooters and defenders. Instead he traded for one of the worst shooters and defenders ever. One of the biggest failures ever
As a team the 2021-22 Lakers were below average shooters, rebounders, and defense: 20th in the NBA in 3pointer%, 20th in the NBA in rebounding, 23rd in the NBA in defensive rating and 29th in the NBA in free throw%. Lakers need younger, better shooters, rebounders, and defenders. Lakers had the oldest roster in the history of the NBA. Many of the players on the roster are way past their prime and are too slow to play defense and will not improve with age. Who among these old timers could improve beyond below average defenders: Ariza, Augustin, Bazemore, Ellington, Howard, Melo, LeBron, Westbrook?
Y’all lying in the comments. Lakers fans were talking so big when Westbrook and everyone else was added. Now they acting like they hated him the whole time 😭😭
Yes you can say last year injuries was their downfall although the Nuggets also had a injury to a star player last season and still went further than the Lakers. This season is not injuries. They are just not very good. No chemistry
@@onlyempxct Murray has been out the whole entire year. Porter Jr most of the year. Jokic has played the whole entire season with no other all star caliber players around him and yet the Nuggets are 6th. The Lakers have had Lebron and Westbrook play most of the year and they have still been bad.
We expected Lakers go head to head with some West heavyweights (Dubs, Suns, Grizzlies, Mavs, Nuggets, Clippers, Jazz) this season but well, that's disappointing they were excluded in playoffs🤷🤦
I don't understand why the Lakers chose to overhaul their roster rather than deepen it. They already had a proven squad, they just had unfortunate injuries that led to a first round exit. They chose to build around bron and trust AD with their future, but tried to bail out in a big gamble that did not pay off
Injuries definitely didn't helped them in the 2020-21 season after that 21-6 start. Lakers haven't recovered from that 2019-2020 NBA Championship season

The year after the championship they went 21-6 2nd in the West before the injures hit so they fell to the 7th seed they didn't need to trade for Russ at all they were fine. Hopefully I can witness Bron get one more ring before he bows out but it's not looking like it.
Agree with you man
8:10 The lakers defeated the Heat in 6
Yes
W video as always man 🔥💯
Thanks a lot
They rlly shouldve taken Demar and Lowry and then go trade for Hield but LeGM wanted Westbrook and now this team probably not gon make it to the playoffs 🙃
Probably
Since the start of the 21/22 season I was telling the people that this team was not gonna work because they only cared about the names and not how they had been playing
😲😲😲
Do deandre jordan pls 😭😭😭😭😭
Soon man
Dude I love how you comment and reply on every comment love that so just waiting for a reply good job btw 😂
Hey man. Thanks for your support!
@@jaywarvz 😂 np keep it up
too early to make vid, would’ve been better to wait till they’re knocked out in the first round again if they even make it lol
😂😂😂
You need more respect like how long it would taken to get all this info. Big love ❤️
Wow thanks a lot man. Very much appreciated
I completely forgot this vid came out months before the frank Vigel firing
Yes man
The Downfall started when they signed Westbrick instead of DeRozan,Hield,& Resign GOATRusso
Yeah man
Downfall started when they let go of their Championship Team Roster
@@Ralphueyyy0510 They Weren't Bad 2020-2021 Just Injured,The Downfall Started When They Got Russ And Signed Old Guys That Can't Defend Or Just Injury Prone As well
Westrbrooks trade was just ridiculous
🤦🤦🤦
8:09 the Lakers won in 6, not 5
Sorry for the mistake
Nice vid man
Thanks a lot
this is why people say the bubble was a fluke. the lakers obviously had a huge advantage with the time off because every other year they were riddled with injuries. it’s not a team built to play 82 games.
😲😲😲
2:15 💀
Also, I must be the only one coming back to these old videos that I commented and re-watching these parts too add in to the comment section. Just tell me that I’m Warvz’s number one fan without telling me that I’m Warvz’s number one fan
Thanks for your never-ending support to this channel man!!!
@@jaywarvz ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well, they got a ring out of it. They haven't fallen, but this season has been really frustrating.
Sadly yeah man
Frank Vogel was a scapegoat. No nba coach would’ve done any better especially when you’re dealing with Star egos and injuries all season long.
Indeed man
Good video pa, saludos desde mar de las pompas
😍😍😍
Injuries rlly derailed this team, the past 5 years,3 seasons starting off tremendous, star players get injured they fall to play-in,or out of playoffs 🤦♂️ they need miracles atp
Indeed man
Injuries, unfortunately, are part of the game. They influence the outcome of most seasons. The Lakers aren't the only ones hit by it.
how tf you only have 24k suscribers🤯
Thanks man
Waiting For The Half-Man/Half-Amazing! Vince Carter!
Btw Too many talents got away from the lakers damn!
Soon man
The Lakers are continuing to fall even further this season. I wonder what would of happened if they kept that young core from 2018 instead shipping them off for AD.
What could have been
Laker's 2019-2023 timeline
Noted
Just wait til the playoffs Jay😉😉
Hopefully man
3:40 I don’t change my game for anyone but I’m a team first guy
🤣🤣🤣
Can you do the bulls timeline from d rose to demar derozan
Sure man
0:56 does anyone know what sports show that is called?
the starters
@@jaywarvz Thanks 👍
The lakers drafted four future starters in a row...Brandon Ingram, ivica zubac, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart
All were gone with lakers
Another banger
Thanks man
Right after the chip...rob pelinka screwed everything...him dismantling the chip roster was the beginning of the premature end for this contending Window for the lakers
A tough pill to swallow...but then again at least there's one chip...oh well
At this point if someone says Lakers should rebuild..I'd say "fine"
😮😮😮
LeBron is the reason for that
Bruh lmao
Pelinka had the best duo in basketball and all he had to do was to surround them with shooters and defenders. Instead he traded for one of the worst shooters and defenders ever. One of the biggest failures ever
Yeah man
As a team the 2021-22 Lakers were below average shooters, rebounders, and defense: 20th in the NBA in 3pointer%, 20th in the NBA in rebounding, 23rd in the NBA in defensive rating and 29th in the NBA in free throw%.
💀💀💀
Y’all lying in the comments. Lakers fans were talking so big when Westbrook and everyone else was added. Now they acting like they hated him the whole time 😭😭
💀💀💀
Good video as always. Could you do timeline of best NBA players during years from first season to now?
Sure man
this is pain. from being champ to 9th seed in 2 years!!! smh front office
They were mess
Do Philly next
Soon man
Lakers' downfall = the consequence of not being patient, and injuries
Sadly yeah
I don’t see Milwaukee overreacting and making irrational trades after they got hurt losing to Boston. Lakers should’ve done the same thing.
🤔🤔🤔
Lakers don't want to develop their players. They want to earn quick championships.
Agree
Yes you can say last year injuries was their downfall although the Nuggets also had a injury to a star player last season and still went further than the Lakers. This season is not injuries. They are just not very good. No chemistry
Yeah right man
The Nuggets had the league MVP, while Murray tore his ACL late in the season, while LeBron and ADs injuries took majority of the year.
@@onlyempxct Murray has been out the whole entire year. Porter Jr most of the year. Jokic has played the whole entire season with no other all star caliber players around him and yet the Nuggets are 6th. The Lakers have had Lebron and Westbrook play most of the year and they have still been bad.
I think markief Morris is part of 2020 championship. I do not see him in the roster you shown. Correct me if I am wrong
Markieff signed by the end of season i think
@@jaywarvz I search it and I see it. He really play for that season
I like the way you put the Stephen Smith Lavar Ball argument 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
We expected Lakers go head to head with some West heavyweights (Dubs, Suns, Grizzlies, Mavs, Nuggets, Clippers, Jazz) this season but well, that's disappointing they were excluded in playoffs🤷🤦
🤔🤔🤔
I don't understand why the Lakers chose to overhaul their roster rather than deepen it. They already had a proven squad, they just had unfortunate injuries that led to a first round exit. They chose to build around bron and trust AD with their future, but tried to bail out in a big gamble that did not pay off
Injuries definitely didn't helped them in the 2020-21 season after that 21-6 start. Lakers haven't recovered from that 2019-2020 NBA Championship season
True man
@@jaywarvz Lakers should've done more at the trade deadline
